@@lancerevell5979 (non) Honourable mention: medicine and related businesses, I refer specially to hospitals and e.g. the now common revolving door policy regarding in-patients' time there and the disproportionate costs (at least in D and CH in my experience). The trend began around the mid 1990s, when the first companies took over the formerly county or district managed and owned hospitals (a way that some military hospitals also had to go...). Formerly always a medical doctor or professor was the head of the institutions, then the business model changed, and leadership was split into a medical director (still a med professional), and a economical director (I hope this is understandable, non native E speaker here, sorry), who now was a business administrator without any medical knowledge. Granted, not everything went smoothly and cost-oriented in the olden days, and like everywhere the temptation to grab the money that could be made by using loopholes was too much for some officials, which was the incentive to bring in people with money savviness in the first place. Medical professionals are not educated in economics, s it seemed to be a good idea, also to cut costs for insurance to make it more accessible to people with a lower income. Oh the irony! The methods and departments where fraud is possible and still a daily problem have only shifted, and the costs are skyrocketing in spite of "cost effectiveness" and " lean management" and whichever buzzwords help the perpetrators to win this BS bingo. I don't know how many times I have to explain this to people- It's pumpkin SPICE. It's the *spices* that you put *into* pumpkin puree to make a pumpkin pie with. That is, it's a mixture of cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, and/or ginger. It *can* be made with actual pumpkin, or pumpkin flavouring added to it; but that's *not* what the name is actually implying or guaranteeing. If you're looking for something that guarantees that actual pumpkin or pumpkin flavouring is added to it; look for pumpkin *pie* flavoured items, not pumpkin spice.
Don't think you can make spice out of pumpkin though, but SPICES are actually parts of plants so if they are claiming it is PUMPKIN SPICE to me they are stating it is at least part of the pumpkin plant/fruit. If they are merely adding cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, ginger then they need to make it clear they are using DIFFERENT SPICES which can be added TO pumpkin pie - or apple pies or Xmas mincemeat, or any fruit dish for that matter as they are commonly used in many dishes NOT containing pumpkin. Basically it's is false advertising.
@@MayYourGodGoWithYou That rationale falls apart due to the availability of Pumpkin Pie Spice at the supermarket with no pumpkin whatsoever. One can buy also Apple Pie Spice at the supermarket with no pumpkin in it. Peach Pie Spice is also available without the Peach. Finally, one can find Pie Spice with no pie in it. Honestly, when I heard about a "Pumpkin Spice Latte", I figured it was a drink with the flavors of cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, clove, allspice, and pepper. It never occurred to me to think it might have pumpkin, because the pumpkin pie spice (and the apple pie spice) in my kitchen have no pumpkin (or apple).

There's a third choice when it comes to fast food -- don't buy or eat it. Many of those items can be made at home and there are lots of copycat recipies to do so online.
There's a 4th choice... make them one exactly how the one in the picture was made. They'll get some glue, toothpicks and whatever else they use on those.
FAST........food is called that for a reason. 'make it at home' takes..."TIME"......and people for some reason are in a rush because they have about 3 or so hours to themselves during the week/work-day. it's all about greed/$$$. fast-food is simply the trickle-down-effect of this.
The Theranos thing was used at spas and people suffered from the wrong findings. I recall a pregnant woman as the most shocking case. So there were no only rich investors effected.

Maybe 15-17 years ago, I bought some MBT (rocker bottom) sneakers and sandals. Took a while to get used to, but once I knew how to keep my balance, they were the most comfortable shoes I've ever had. Wore them traveling all over Europe and the US. It was this year that the sandals finally disintegrated, and I'm so sad because I can't find that exact style again. Maybe they didn't make me lose weight, but they do require your calves to get a little workout, and I could feel some stretch in the back of my legs and hips/backside. The Sketchers might have overstated its benefits, but similar rocker-bottom shoes really can be super comfortable for long walks.
Missing my MBT sandals too 😭. Had the brown & black pair 🤩. Gave such confidence in my steps when walking around and had them for years. 8:53 The titanium iPhones are worse. They're already exploding and breaking before you open the box. Apple uses aluminum as a subframe for a titanium phone, instead of a similarly stiff material like magnesium, which is also a good heat conducting metal. Somehow Apple had 22 years between the PowerBook G4 (the 2001 15-inch laptop was fully made of titanium) and the iPhone 15 Pro, but I think Tim Cook still missed their free-throw. 5:39 with that the problem is that they followed the law. They need to write every ingredient, warning messages and things like that on it. Something that doesn't fit on the jar. The GMO food "controversy" was to a large extent a PR failure by the first companies to commercialise them: They didn't properly explain how they had been made, which led consumers to mistakenly (though somewhat understandably) assume that something had been added to GMO foods which was somehow dangerous and was not in any non-GMO foods. One of the most common complaints made about GMO foods - and I promise I am not making this up - was that the food "had genes in it", or words to that effect. Yes, that thing which had allegedly been added to the GMO food was supposedly the genes themselves - as if non-GMO foods somehow don't contain genes. Which would of course be impossible - all foods are made from something which was at some point alive - or is still alive in some cases, such as fresh carrots or onions. So almost all foods contain genes, aka genetic material - the DNA chromosomes found in the nuclei of cells, whether they are GMO or not. The only foods which don't contain any genetic material are highly refined products, like white sugar or white flour.
Those meat companies using horses as food and as glue while using horse meat in their products is just extremely gross, unethical and disturbing in every way it makes me sad😢. Great Video!!!
there's nothing wrong with the fact that it's horse meat, the problem is that horse meat is cheaper and they sell it for the price of other types of meat. so you think you buy pork for X$/kilo and you get a mix of horse and pig meat with a lower cost, and the company pockets the difference. meat is meat, if they honestly sell it as horse meat for the price that horse meat normally sells for, there would have been no problem. but no, some managers wanted to lie to customers and make a few more bucks.

The beancounters took over the food industry, and like in other industries, quality has tanked . 😮
Even fraudsters have to feed their family, or gas up the Ferrari... Yes, I AM a jaded cynic. I liked the business better when at least on the surface the patient's well being and adequate treatment, often no matter what the costs, was the guideline. @moonshadow6387 I think it's sad that you even think fast-food is a thing, and even food at all. It's sad you're even bothered about it, considering we in the UK, and you lot, knew in the 1940s that the petroleum and plastics industries wanted to use their by-products for something, so they cook this crap in it and also put it back into the food chain. Our elders passed this knowledge on to us. I blame your elders and so should you.
The religious reasons for pork were purely health related millenia ago when it wasn't prepared right, there's no reason to continue it in the modern day..I mean all 3 Abrahamic religions also ban shellfish, Christianity is SUPER clear about that way more than any gay bashing they focus on, no owls, like a million other nonsense rules everyone ignores like what colors to wear, 90 other commandments that aren't even followed, its just so silly from an outsiders perspective. At least Islam and Judaism don't force their beliefs on everyone else like Christians do, hasn't been caliphates for centuries. Dubais dictatorship and slavery isn't really tied to the religion haha

I’ve always known what Pumpkin Spice is and never have a second to think it has pumpkin in it! Are people really this dumb???
@@MayYourGodGoWithYou Those spices are so closely tied to pumpkin pie that pumpkin spice works.

Edit: At 31:07 this deep dish pizza was made in Malaysia. I feel like I would have to stab it with a knife and hit it to kill the pizza before it starts gaining sentience.
5:39 with that the problem is that they followed the law. They need to write every ingredient, warning messages and things like that on it. Something that doesn't fit on the jar. So even if they wanted to sell it without the box they are not allowed to use this size, which means they either need to make it bigger(which would rise the price around maybe 4x), write it so small no one can read it or they have to put it in the big box.

GMOs aren't nearly as bad as they try to make it sound. That is how we have gotten fuller fruit like we do now
Correct. Selective breeding is genetic modification.
Well if fast food is going to raise their prices then quality becomes more of an issue, expect more complaints!
