They tried that balance band crap on me at the mall once. They didn't know I'm a Nurse. We are taught points of balance to safely transfer patients. I turned the tables on them in front of a crowd and gave a demo myself. Needless to say they weren't there the next day.😂😂😂😂

Most of these ads are for companies based in other countries. I'm guessing US consumer protection laws can't do anything about it, but you would think they should. At the very least, the FCC should be able to do something about the false claims in the advertisements.
The thing that really gets me is when mobile game ads deliberately show the wrong choices being made to possibly annoy people into thinking they could do better.
A girl I went to school with has done modeling ads for Levi's, and right after that a company asked to hire her for their weight loss supplement. She is maybe 110 pounds soaking wet. They said they didn't want her to ACTUALLY use the product, just claim she lost weight from it. She said no.
thats lying right there to the public, and just wrong for a company to ask her to do that, its easy to find out she never used it, and was never overweight (i mean that as her current weight, or that she used it to significantly lighten her).
👍👍👍👍👍 to the girl who stuck by her principles, is she still in the modelling biz? I can imagine the company who asked her to lye would give a negative advice to other companies who wanted to hire her😢. 😉❤️💋💋💋

One of the most egregious examples I’ve seen is an ad that still plays on TH-cam to this day of what USED to be advertised as an LED tooth whitening device, now literally advertised as a SUBSTITUTE for brushing your teeth. Complete with an entirely fake testimonial from a “dentist” in a text-to-speech voice. I reported this ad every single time I saw it, even including a link to the original teeth whitening product, and they’ve ignored it every single time. Anybody that was involved in creating the ad should be in jail, and whoever is reviewing these ads/reports needs to be fired. This is insanity.
The one in the ad is way over priced and they don't have any other products. It looks like they take another companies product and sell it as theirs at a huge mark up. I do use a product like that and it works as a tooth cleaning device. But I doubt that the blue LEDs on it do any sort of whitiening.
The Homescapes ad Is still going on in my country along with other very similar ones. What has our world become? By the way the video was great please do more to help others who might fall prey! Ps: thx for all the likes this is the most I’ve ever gotten!
It always amazes me how few people have made use of the sold adage of “if it sounds too good to be true it probably is”. I’ve gotten a lot of mileage from that old saying over the years and likely been spared a lot of grief.
Also, not to mention cigarette ads that claim to be the "Healthy" cigarette. I gotta say thank Christ for the 1971 ban on cigarette ads on TV. Also, remember Juul? Another vaping device that claimed to be the "Safe Alternative" to smoking. A bunch of kids have either died or hospitalized from these dangerous products.
I don't trust blackhead remover and I probably never will as long as washing your face with suitable soap for your skin type plus water, classic skin cleanser and cotton wool exists... If all else fails let the blackhead ripen till time for squeezing.. F that ad some corners can't be cut and don't need to be 💯
That mafia city game actually got me, it was the first time I thought I’d try a mobile game only to realize it’s that piece of shit so I deleted it instantly.
I never played it. The game didn't seem interesting to me. I remember playing the HomeScape game, before they did false advertising. And when I kept on seeing the ads they show now on that game, I was like "That's not in the game!". A lot of games are doing false advertising right now. But they didn't fool me, into downloading the game.
There was an ad two years ago for a Christmas tree that comes quite flat and you push’s remote and the tree rises up to 6’ tall and the branches spread evenly around the tree. It came with lights and a little train that went around the tree. I was so impressed I bought one for my daughter for Christmas as their tree was done and told her she could open it before Christmas so they could display it. What I got was a small bag that just had af few branches in it… enough to make a very bare 5 inch tree. There was a small pkg. of LED lights ( 10 lights on it) and a few time decorations you can get in the dollar store. It’s a good thing we have a sense of humour and just burst out laughing at what I got but I paid $99.00 for something that immediately went in the garbage. I wrote them but of course never heard a word back. I have ordered bras for the mature woman it 1 get two free and only 1 bra came and I swear it was so tiny it didn’t even fit my ten year old granddaughter. It ended up being another lesson learned and more money down the drain.
I always love how commercials say "4 out of 5" or "9 out of 10" or "99.9%" and even Amazon with all their products having exactly a 4.5 star rating. Talk about lies. Let's be honest. I would love to see an ad that says "well, you know 7 out 10 ain't bad either."
Thing is that's the only one that doesn't belong on this list. I saw the very same product on wish and it's just the strain of wool. The blanket is an example picture of what you could make of it. Somebody didn't read carefully enough. 🤓
Back in the 1980s, I did some modeling for a famous hair brand. What I found most confusing/disturbing was that the stylists used all sorts of products, not necessarily from the brand advertised. For example, they did a treatment on my hair that made it SUPER soft and shiny, but only for about a week. Worked great for the photos. But if anyone saw my pictures, would they assume the only products used were that brand? I think so. And refused any more work from the agency that booked me.
I don't even like wearing bands. So even if I saw those advertisments (you should see how raged I get when I get advertisments during a video), I would just skip them and not even care about buying them.
I was watching a product review done by a regular husband and wife duo on the "blackhead remover". Was very funny as they pulled a bit of a prank by stopping the video and going to the kitchen to sprinkle some dark fennel seeds on their faces. Ofc, they laughed and revealed the hoax they had pulled. Everyone had a great laugh and that was that. About a month later that ad popped up and as it showed random people using the product...and low and behold one of the pop up "satisfied customers" pictures were literally the SAME couple that had debunked the product 😄 😆 😀 🤣...that's down right sneaky!
The couple should sue them and if they lose, they should ask people to make their debunk vid go viral and ask them to mention that the scammers use their name as a testimonial lie.
@@anniechapple5907 I agree fully. I can't, for the life of me remember their names. If I could I would make an attempt to contact them because they may not even be aware of it. I wonder though if our courts would even hear the case because it is a matter of difficulty in law suits involving foreign countries. If Nestle couldn't be sued for their atrocities I doubt they would bother with minor issues of misrepresentation.

I'm 62. I remember there being a law against false advertising, and I remember hearing that it was later abolished, allowing these completely bogus ads
No. The laws are still in place. The Feds and States just simply don't enforce them due to all the lobbyist money that gets shoved into Congress' collective pockets. In short the government corruption is overshadowing enforcement of many laws.
I used to watch this channel a few years ago, now I've come back I'm so impressed with the improvement in the production of these videos!! Keep it up 😄
Well, YT does do at least some good in revealing the fakes. I'm glad. I was looking at those rugs from Wish. I figured they *were* going to be a lesser quality if I did get one but not a blatant lie. Thankfully, I didn't want to purchase something like that without knowing - and now I do.
I disagree. Most of the ads I see on YT are obvious fakes or likely to be of poor quality. Like the 'protect your brain from 5G' beanie, the miracle shaper-ware from China, or the fake puzzle companies from China.

Both my husband and myself got really excited about the green stick. That was until I found out it was total BS. You've got to admit that if it did work it'd help so many people with bad skin.
Same here I wish I would have seen videos before I purchased the stick. It made my face break out really bad. Till this day my skin has not went back to normal after using that stick.
@ Kesha Kesha you should never put a skin care product on without first doing a "skin test". A reputable skin care product will have this " warning " on their package. (Be sure to save package & receipt).Apply a small amount (dime size) on the inside of your elbow & rub it in thoroughly. Wait 48 hours to see if there is any reaction. IF you react sooner, wash off immediately and apply Benadryl (Diphenhydramine) cream if the rash & itching is severe. Otherwise, it will fade in a day or two. Return the product to the store for a refund, letting them know reason for return is Allergic Reaction. IF you have NO reaction, you can use it. BUT be aware - it is possible to become allergic to a product at any time.
I actually witnessed one of these infomercials being filmed. It was for that weight loss body patch and I got to see everything they were lying about and nobody believed me.
I wish Id seen your comment 3 months ago to ask what kind you saw I'm getting software productivity ads (bc i work in tech). Theyre a little slick, but not outrageous
Been buying from wish a while, and sure, if you buy clothing it's a 50/50 toss up but most stuff is just a cheap version of an expensive local item and works just fine. Take fishing lures for example, you get like 20 for $13, wait a month, but they look and perform the same as local $10/lure alternatives.
To be 100% honest when I first saw the green mask one I actually thought it worked and then I did a Google search on the mask found some videos watched them and realized within 5 minutes of the video that it was completely fake. :( i’m really glad that there are TH-cam videos of people trying these products so we don’t get scammed
3:25 Wow, I got one of those back in the day in Chuck E Cheese. I didn’t know what it was, and it looked cool so I got it. It certainly didn’t help me in any way besides being bombarded with questions on what it was. I remember taking the holographic paper out and cutting it easily. I still have it to this day 😆😆
I got those powerbalance bands because it looked kinda cool at the time and felt nothing out of the ordinary from it. Still have it stashed on my old toys

I actually won a gold metal (in game in HomeScapes during 2019) for having the team/group with the most points or something like that in the ENTIRE game during an event. I also remember GardenScapes, the first game by the company that features Austin, the Butler and some cutscenes. The ads aren’t technically wrong in either, because there are scenes like that but with more graphics and less bright colors. So basically, you fix certain places up, such as the water fountain (probably GardenScapes) or the attic or something (probably HomeScapes) and you see Austin there doing his daily routine, and you can tap him to make him do stuff. That’s only for when you run out of whatever the thing was called (I think it was energy or stamina) that made it so whenever you tried a level and failed, you would lose some. Once you hit 0, you couldn’t do anything anymore until you got more energy/stamina. There were cutscenes, too, but it was a picture of them with a bar of text beneath it, and they would be “talking” and stuff. One of the games that are similar to this is Merge Mansion, where it also features a character renovating their grandparents house (like HomeScapes, just with the main character being female, the grandma actually showing up more than once every 80 something levels and only staying for a few levels, the grandparents don’t help and it doesn’t feature any event things).
You can fool all the people some of the time, you can fool some of the people all the time. But you can't fool all the people all the time. I believe he also coined that... or it may of been my dad. Lol
I can't hate playrix they don't have the worst game scams compared to some of the other junk mobile titles I've seen or games that are more advert with tiny breaks of gameplay
Although I had been fooled more than once on similar advertisements, I did not understand the motivation of a company showing false gameplay because after playing the game and seeing that it was not even remotely as it was claimed I just uninstalled the game every time.
Most of these products still have ads that play on TH-cam even though they edit, de-platform, and delete any content that they say is "misinformation." Just like the ad that played before this video.
As someone who laughs and is skeptical of pretty much every ad, I appreciate the "behind the scenes" of homescape/mafia city, and green stick kind of ads - just to know how im getting scammed without the trial and error.
The only thing I think Wish ever got right, in my case, was the stainless steel ring that I got for $1. It looks exactly like the ad said, and was very durable. The only thing is that it took them 2 months to deliver it LOL
I only ordered 1 product from wish, or actually my mom did as a present for my bday. They send the wrong product, or actually it was the right product. It was supposed to be this kind of necklace/pocketwatch thingy with the shadowhunters logo on it (shadowhunters is 1 of my favourite tv shows) and i did get the necklace pocketwatch thingy with the ACDC logo on it. My mom said sending it back would be more expensive then just reordering it. So we reodered it and this time i did get it with the shadowhunters logo. Luckily i have a friend that's into rockbands, so i gave the ACDC 1 to her. They both did look like the photo on the wish site.
I admit the Green Stick Facial Ad almost had me. For awhile I looked and asked at many retailers then I heard from others it was all a clever Ad scam debunked.
The only thing preventing advertisers from lying to you is pretty draconian regulation. Ads presented across borders with limited inter-jurisdictional cooperation can safely assumed to constitute a scam and can be safely ignored.

Yeah, a lot of these shitty products (and things like them) are specifically targeted to prey on desperate people who feel like they've tried everything else. I'm not disabled, but I do have Parosmia, a condition which completely distorts your senses of taste and smell. While I've come to terms with the fact that there's a decent chance it's permanent, there was certainly a point where I wouldve bought every single "miracle cure" I could find if I had been able to.

@@soonersciencenerd383 Never use permanent glue on your skin! Elmer's glue is water based so you won't be injured but Gorilla glue is PERMANENT! Crazy glue is PERMANENT! Do you not read the instructions? They tell you never to use on skin and if you get it on skin wash off IMMEDIATELY.
I think the best way iRenew was exposed (outside of being just obvious as hell), is the fact that people just bought it and cut it in half; revealing that there isn't even any "inside" and that it's just a piece of sillicon...
You've opened my eyes bro! For that, I shall fill your wallet. Lol.
Here before it blows up! (I hope so)
12:12 actually no, it’s simpler,
the dirt on the teeth was put there,
they just wiped it off
8:47 and Homescapes ruined a concept that may ACTUALLY work, but the devs are too lazy to use

I ordered 2 pair slacks, they were suppose to be size 16 in Canadian and US sizes. I received the slacks and they were less than a 0 size. I just wanted to exchange them for a larger size but the Wish company wouldn't allow it. They also slipped in a man's ring I didn't order. Without my knowledge. Every chance I get I pass on my experience .
Don't order anything from that site.
Bro I fuckin hate wish me and my grandma had brought really cute things from wish like bracelets, necklaces, shoes, etc well my grandma spent more than 300$ dollars on those items and we never received our items that we ordered we were robbed by wish and lost over 300$ dollars like a year passed and we still didn't get what we ordered me and my grandma gave up on waiting for our things to arrive and were very disappointed we never used wish again
Was the ring at least nice enough to make up for it?
@@NachoAvarageCat Ever heard of punctuation?
Wish is a Chinese rip off site. Never order from overseas websites.
lol i remember power balance bracelets. they were all the rage when i was in middle school. i remember every guy was wearing one and it was honestly just for aesthetics.
The balance band guy also pushes on his arm the first time with no announcement, so he falls, the second time, the band guys touching the demonstrators arm and talking so that he can prepare him self. He knows it's coming! Lol a rival company did something similar buy just shoving a guy off guard, then by the second shove, the guy doesn't budge.
I love your animations btw! They keep getting funnier.
I remember so well about the power balance. All of my school friends bought these and claiming we should bought from the company itself. If not, we will not get "the balance" lmao. I nearly want those silicone things, yet i can't because i'm too poor to buy weird silicone and because my mom told me that those are fake
ALL silicon 'things' are fake. They're silicon.
This is really funny and it's now 2am lmao. I can't keep my self from laughing starting at the dentures 🤣
15:20 This is why you need to read the description super carefully and also the reviews. Remember, if it’s too good to be real, then it’s not.
