I've been to this park once. It's basically a very miniature Bryce Canyon and Badlands combined. I love the hoodoos and mud colors. I've talked to several native Coloradans and none of them had heard of it. My husband and I went a few years ago and really enjoyed the day. I am hoping to take a friend of mine who will be visiting from Florida in a couple of weeks.
Unfortunately, I see all too much of the behavior you describe at other locations. It’s a shame The Paints Mines is not large enough for a full time ranger…

You nailed it... most folks from Colorado have never heard of this little gem, which in a way is good! It's too small to handle big crowds!
