I absolutely love your videos... just found you out today because I'm taking a trip later this year... Appreciate all of your work! Thanks again, brother!
Jay Man do you have that right. Too many times we got cut up ( sometimes very deeply and seriously) from Broken glass bottles tossed in by irresponsible ignoramuses who cared nothing about others. Bad thinking , BAD BEHAVIOUR!!!
Thanks for the information! I will have to check out your "Best Caves" video for my husband. We love Colorado & will be RV that way soon so your video will come in handy.
Oh absolutely I'll subscribe it's a lot of work to get out there and capture the beauty of our awesome state and I really enjoy seeing other spots I haven't been to yet
Yes Alan it sure did. But I was a very young boy , tougher than nails , free as a bird , and the colorado river in early spring was colder than a bears rear in the klondike. We were usually in the cold water for about an hour , then it was time to get out and warm up. Times were different then ( early sixties).
Yeah but they are arse holes in Colorado springs. Look how they treat the homeless population there. They spend $1500 on one sign to say not to give to homeless.....they have over 1000 signs up. You do the math.
Great places here in Colorado... thank you for sharing.. some I've been to, others like the one on the Colorado river where you can stop and dive is now on my bucket list...keep up the great work...its been accelerating...!!!!
I grew up in GJ in the 60s and 70s! Glade park/pot holes/ the little irrigation canal-we would tube all day in that little canal/. I could keep going. My whole point is "the valley" has much more outdoor activity to enjoy. Loved this video. Thank you
Wonderful info in this video. I went to Paradise Cove for the first time and did my first jump! It’s such an adrenaline rush! Definitely going to check out more swimming holes/waterfalls/secret hikes
Ryks Video of 6th Ave and hgwy 2 riright b4 tunnel 1 walk down for awhile it's on the left ...gotta swim across the river down stream to get to it huge rock to jump off...I dove in one time...scary shit...but still no bottom...toothpicks from high no bottom lots of fun for kids and adults...fresh as fuck
PSA: Cliff jumping at Green Mountain Resevoir is now illegal, so for any who plan to make a full day trip up there after seeing this, be warned you can still in theory jump of the cliffs but you will be subject to hefty fines if caught.
Thanks so much for making this video I really like it have never been there but maybe 1 day & those r pretty swimming holes too .I live in TN. & we just have creeks where I live & most of those u can't go to nomore cause the wouldn't clean up after themselves so the land owners got tired of it & closed down most of the entering spots .
I used to swim in the hole just down from H.A.Smiths cabin. Excellent swimming. Also , my Grandfather ( and father) lived in Smiths cabin for a while. We used to go there every summer multiple times. We lived in GJ where we swam in eggers lake and in the colorado. Most of the time we either went to Manty heights and jumped off into the highline canal or went to the canal on G- road. Lots of fun. We were careful and no-one was injured except cuts on the feet from broken Beer bottles tossed there by irresponsible ignoramuses. The Pot holes can be dangerous , however your safety depends on how much beer youve consumed and the temperature and speed of the water. People die ther because they become stupid and or over zealous. Swimming in that area was Never a problem for us because we were taught when and where and how to swim in such waters. But then , I grew up around these kinds of swimming holes. As a side note , my Dad used to play with the Younger Brothers cousins , who lived farther up Escalante canyon.
hey my name is Steven and my wife's name is Cassidy we are looking forward to coming from Valdosta Georgia and visit family throughout Tennessee Colorado California and Texas then ending up in Florida then headed back home to Valdosta Georgia. we really appreciate your video educating us on where we can go with the family and seeing the beautiful sites that we won't make it to. thanks again great job!
@@zachdavies5370 I made one kinda like that.. I think the most dangerous roads in Colorado. They are the most scenic in my opinion, plus a couple more.. if you look at my best places for fall colors, you will see some great drives in the fall.
We used to go down to Deckers and hit the Chutes. There was a rock formation called The Thumb. You had your choice of the tip of The Thumb, (high risk) or down on the finger or knuckle(safe platform). Then the current carries you to The Chutes. Two HUGE rocks on each side of the river 4 to 6 .feet from each other creating a tremendous amount of current. It would shoot you thru like a bullet down river. A kick ass time. I think they built a damn dam an flooded the whole valley. Twin Forks.
@@coloradonativeguide ; It's been a while . Let me ask you this; Are people still bunji jumping off of the Royal Gorge? A long time ago a group of us went there for the plunge. Turned out i was the only one that followed thru. Anyway , i heard that it is illegal now. Do you know of this?
Definitely appreciate you running around the state all the time to make these awesome and very helpful videos!
Thank you!
Be warned, if it's not a hot springs, then it's a freezing cold spring. Getting chills just watching people in the water.
Shut up chad
As a Colorado native I think your vids rock! Looking forward to seeing more.

Please do not bring glass bottles to any swimming holes, especially Radium Springs. Pack it in, Pack it out.
Yeah, when I was a kid i cut myself really bad on a glass bottle, when swimming in a river
Jay Man do you have that right.
Too many times we got cut up ( sometimes very deeply and seriously) from Broken glass bottles tossed in by irresponsible ignoramuses who cared nothing about others.

It's a good spot to break bottles.
No doubt, respect what we are blessed with. Don't abuse it! Rule should be, you abuse it! You can not use it!
Radium springs n.m.
The potholes in the 70's. Popular spot for partying!!!

You poor, poor man. Having to travel back and forth across such a beautiful state! Jealous, From Missouri.
At least people have common driving sense in Missouri and don't drive like they are in the Indy 500.
@@antonjackson71 people still drive really stupid here

Robbie Manta yes, true. It is a temporary ban, hopefully lifted next year.
Still banned?
It is so silly to ban jumping, if you are an adult you should be able to make the decision to jump
@@coloradonativeguide what about now?
We grew up at Green mountain. Cliff jumping was a regular, but still very dangerous. We saw a lot of people get hurt.

Another good one is Blackrocks off the Colorado river very near the Utah border. Very large cliffs and easy to get back for repeated jumping!
