- Oprah Winfrey's Legends Ball was a three-day celebration held by Oprah Winfrey honoring twenty-five African American women in art, entertainment, and civil rights.
The celebration included a luncheon, white-tie ball, and gospel brunch. On May 22, 2006, a year after the celebration, a one-hour program about the weekend aired on ABC. It included celebrity interviews and behind-the-scenes moments.[1]
Every now and then when I need to recharge my spirit... I watch this.

I was literally just thinking the same thing. To see Della and Tina saddened me, but to know that they were there made me joyful!

Black people are spiritually connected to the source. It can't always be explained but it's always felt! You can't teach it,it's just conveyed threw soulful expression. Only the creator and black ppl can truly understand it.

I listen to this every day to lift my spirit. Every commenter has someone that reached them. I can understand how they feel, but did anyone notice Nick Ashford jumping for joy while his talented wife put the ball on the rim for Patty. I pray everyday for a marriage like that.
I like how mellow Ms. Dionne was. Softly spoken. Then Ms. Glady said “Come on 👋🏾…walk with me.” Haha I loved every bit of this one.

I love love love love this absolutely incredible blessed clip! I have this saved from years ago and it popped up to the top of my clips today for some reason, so I click play and that was it once again!! Every time I listen to this it still overwhelms my heart with joy and praise to the Most High!! I cannot help it I get touched by the Lord every time... Great history, so proud to be a sister. I was already here about 8 months ago( to see Patti), but the Skorpion show brought me back:)
It was such a remarkable and phenomenal event . I dance, cried and celebrated with all these amazing legend personality. I thank God for Oprah who had the vision and understanding how necessary it was to thank and shower those legends with flowers while they were able to feel and see the love .

I'm so glad that I saved all the parts of Oprah's Legendary weekend. I loved seeing all my favorite people singing my favorite gospel music 🎶. Some legends have gone to heaven. It was a wonderful celebration 🍾 🥂 God bless Oprah for putting this together ❤. I love watching it over, over a gain 📖✝️😇🥰

Many have issues with Oprah these days including me, but to see this symposium of African American artists come together in this fashion was a once in a lifetime experience is truly epic.
The point was ENJOY the moment, the singers, the Glory and presence of God. STOP the judging and knit picking. Just rest yourself and allow the holy spirit to fill your body and heart.

i must have watched this 100 times and am blown away every time. it brings me to tears too that many of these legends are gone in 2024. so grateful this was recorded. astounding. can only imagine the power of being there.
