I don't think making all of a factions infantry obsolete really makes a great mod
Love it. I'm glad someone brought this character in. It would be cool if he could get his own faction eventually. I think a system similar to Nakai where he doesn't conquer territory for himself but gives it to a vassal faction fits perfectly.
No diplomatic penalties for trespassing would be good. Really enjoying this mod.

Good to see Brigands and Herrimaults and they work well with a Bertrand themed mod obviously. That said, while I'd love to see them all in a Bretonnia DLC, I also want the variant Squires and a take on the Reliquae that works (embedded in a Grail Pilgrim unit, please?).
Robin Hood, Friar Tuck and litte John. Sign me up.
I have been insisting for years that this guy is the update Bretonnia needs. Now he just needs to be a separate faction that doesnt get along with the rest, and has different ways of gaining and losing chivalry. Just to introduce some proper infighting to the kingdom

I honestly like the idea of mixing different editions of Warhammer Fantasy stuff together or callbacks to older stuff, really adds more variety.
Did you know that there was actually a cultural movement among dwarves, mainly the younger generations that opposed some of the stubborn traditions of their people? Wild right?!
Similarly I don't mind the darking of Brettonia's lore in later editions as some do...atleast in the sense that I would've preferred their still being strong opposition to the stagnant status quo like this robin hood-esque group in the mod, especially a grassroots, *ground-to up* series of movements, adds a nice bit of internal tensions that Bretonnia sorely lacks that their Empire neighbors enjoys. (atleast when the writers use that stuff..)
Finally something interesting and not the 100th skaven thing or pointy ears stuff
If the GW accepted this to be practical then Bretonnia will have more range options.
I personally think Bretonnia needs new heroe types urgently. Today they only have two, a melee goon and a spellcaster, they need more heroes to plug some holes.
I'm a fan of a support like a bard knight to buff the front lines or the knights and a sargent to buff ranged units

Really want to see CA add Bertrand the Brigand LL, Hugo le Petit LH, Guis le Gros LH, Bowmen of Bergerac RoR, herrimaults (unit) and Faceless One hero. I’d love CA to make a unique “Maid Marian” LH too perhaps named Marionne. CA could also use this DLC to update the Damsel model and colour code them to their respective lore of magic. Add in Duke Bohemond and Duke Theoderic as FLC and it will be fantastic.

Interesting, I created a thread (like many others) on the total war forum about implementing Bertrand the Brigand. I am glad the community took it upon themselves to add him. I also had some faction specific mechanics which I explained in that thread. I am certain the creator of this mod read my thread and am delighted that he jumped on the opportunity to make it a reality.
the developers should really take a look at theses mods, Bretonnia has always been that one faction where it's heavily dependent on cavalry and not much melee or missile infantry. while some of their lords are good, the other such as Alberic de Bordeleaux is okish but I'm sure i'm not the only one when I say he needs something that defines him. As Repanse de Lyonesse for example. She has a different tech tree and she buffs to deal extra damage to all undead factions. while King Louen Leoncoeur deals extra damage to all of chaos, Norsca, undead, greenskins, and beastmen. If Alberic de Bordeleaux can get a unique tech tree and he gets a slight increase of damage when fighting either dark elves or vampire coast, that'll be amazing.
I love the Heros based on the Robin Hood Legends, but i would prefer him as a kind of Bretonian Horde faction (cause Brigands) and palying around Ambush battles with of course Brigand Units and that have Vanguard/Ambush advantages. And of course it would be a lot of a cool mechanic if he gains Bonus rewards for clearing Beastmens, Chaos, Skaven and Greenskin armies on Bretonian Territroy. You know kind of a Defensive like Horde factions thats focused around Defending Bretonia and can build Brigand Camps like the Ogres can build thier Ogre Camps in allied Territory. Damn while thinking about it i get many more ideas for mechanics around him. What do you gyus think about it?
Okoii going to remake that peasant mob doomstack with these characters in the army, what was that, like 15% physical resist? With other tech tree bonuses, peasants really could be whipping the lords about.

I imagine it's just the modder not having figured out how to do it yet, because yea this seems more like an anti-brettonia faction if anything

Well more of an anti-establishment faction(s?), not so much an enemy of the nation but of the elites of the hierarchy that controls the nation.

Give us some brigand pistoliers and gunners... i mean... they don't do the chivalry thing anyways then let them smugle in som gunpowder from the nearby empire...
Outside of cannons - brigands in Bretonnia had virtually no understanding of gunpowder in the lore
You have to understand - nowadays anyone can use a gun. But, with the level of tech established in Warhammer, guns require some expertise and talent to use (unless you're a zombie xD) because they're SO inaccurate and primitive
Crossbows make sense because they're this tech level's equivalent OF modern guns - muskets and blunderbusses??? Not so much
@@2Scribble Bretonnia used to have gunpowder in the older versions, cannons, hand cannons, they didn't have has much techology as Empire or Dwarves but they still had gunpowder, even in today version the Bretonnian navy have better cannons than the Empire, so its not like they have zero understanding of guns.
I much prefer the "hundred years war France" type of Bretonnia than the "only cav Bretonnia" that we have today.

Gunpowder and the technology surrounding it is like the simplest things to grasp? One of the BIG reasons why guns or muskets and the like didn't take of initially was that they couldn't make many barrels strong enough, and in large quantities that could withstand multiple explosive reactions within, back to back, especially smaller, handheld weapons. It was more of a metallurgical challenge or material science problem than mechanical or technical ones.

Yeah, I would've preferred a more mixed time periods sort of Brettonia instead of slavishly sticking to Arthurian legends, which is cool and all but shouldn't be the ONLY attraction for a faction. I mean even the Empire while largely inspired by early-modern pick and shot warfare still has influences from older periods of history. Heck even Bretonnia isn't totally stuck with the 12th or 13th century stuff, which is even more sad because early adoption of gunpowder was already under swing as you said during the 100s war era (for France and England that is) which could be considered as the quintessentially medieval heyday or high point whenever someone thinks of it.
The problem I find with having an army where almost everything stalks is that it makes the hammer-and-anvil type attacks pretty hard, because the enemy can't see anyone to attack first XD

I will pass. I mostly download moded units that have unit cards that are of same style as vanilla units. I hate when modders are lazy in making them. Glf's extended unit roster is best example how modders should do moded units (make them seem that they aren't moded).
it's a plus fo rme, i like being able to keep mental track of what's modded.
