@@sarag4187 Yeah we wanted to do a video comparison but in that respect there is no contest really so just wanted to show this from the point of view of just taking portraits. Maybe we'll do that in the future!
I don't much fancy lugging the 1DX around. The 100D does me fine. The best results I get is with an EOS 300v + 28m-90mm II USM + fuji C200. But that's another story! :)
I bought the 100 a few years ago and to be fair it's been a great little camera. I'm no photographer so no need to spend thousands. But this lite thing has been a pleasure to use. Even the video is pretty good. Overall I'm well pleased with my 100d. I'd recommend it any day
Interestingly I actually found I liked a lot of the 100D images more, but this is mostly I think due to the contrast and the saturation, and I am almost certain the 1DX captures a lot more detail and has a higher dynamic range, so this could be tweaked a lot more in post than the 100D could meaning it can work with a lot more styles. I guess this just further pushed that the 100D is perfect for newcomers before they work their way up to bigger beasts. Great video by the way! I've been looking at getting a beginner camera and the 100D has been my current choice being that you can get it second hand for like £120 on ebay. This video has helped a lot with showing that the camera can hold it's own just as well as any camera if you know what you're doing.

Yeah pretty much all social media really compresses video/photo quality so it's really hard to see the difference compared to looking at the full res photos.
As a 'casual' photography lover I found this really interesting! I agree with your points about still being able to get good shots with cheaper cameras though I guess the 1dx isn't really aimed for people like me. Btw it's so funny seeing how big that camera is compared to both your heads 😂😂😂

I got a fair few correct because of the massive change in dynamic range, it seemed quite notable whenever you caught a green in shot. But honestly at this bit rate and the crop in on the video, I don't think anyone could get it consistently correct

Great comparison guys...I like how you let us guess the pic and cam...that was a lot of fun.... I was only 50 percent! That Lens is sweet. So cool you can rent out cams your way...we are in small town, so don't have that option.

It's like the law of diminishing returns. Definitely can see why the more expensive camera is better but seems like most people wouldn't be able to tell much difference.

Yep, for every comparison shot it was the same lens used on both cameras. It's definitely a lot less sharp than the 1dx 2. I would guess because of the much smaller sensor.

I got two wrong! But once I realized what differentiates the Mark ii, I got all the succeeding pictures right.
I have used my 100D like 9 months now.

The cheaper camera took better photos. That is literally the only test that matters.

I got the 70D when it came out in 2014(& practically all the STM lenses) & got the 100D late in 2016. I ended up using the 100D more than the 70D.

I would buy the 100D if it was still available. I actually bought its younger brother, the 200D, but I'm not really a fan of articulating screens.
Heard great things about the 200D though so a good buy! Still think you can get a 100D for under 200 quid on ebay these days though!

i dont understand why 100D has Chromatic aberration and 1DX not , i dont get that why is that?
I can't say for certain, but it may be to do with the differences in the image processor inside the camera as well as the sensor.
