@KS-dg5zh is correct. It does reduce turbulence to help atomization. Also, because the CNC machined cusps, as they are called, are consistent in height and spacing it can improve air speed and flow direction. Once the head is finished with this raw machining process we go in and do a blending from the port to the valve seat to ensure a smooth transition.
We machine both customer engine blocks and heads. We machine and blueprint blocks to make kits such as with the rotating assembly to make a short block kit or also a full engine kit. These are ready to be assembled by you or a local builder. We can quote cast iron heads as a build it yourself kit or fully assembled as well. Just shoot a message over or call to one of our sales guys and they will quote you anything you need. Also, we build crate engines in our popular combinations and post when they are finished and ready to ship. You can keep an eye out on that page on our site if interested in a crate engine.
Hellzz yeah love me some Butler Performance....
LETS GOOO TEAM PONCHO
Thanks Teddy!!! We are trying to keep Pontiacs on the road and going strong with new technology and processes.
Need to see more of this from Butler Performance. Engine build up and machine work. Thanks
Absolutely and glad you enjoy it! We have more Butler Process things being filmed in the shop. More coming soon!
nice toolpath! UMC gettin it done!!
I need those heads!
Do you go in afterwards and polish all the ridges left by the cnc mill?
They normally don't. The theory is the ridges help kept the air/fuel turbulent helping atomization

That is surely faster than porting by hand.
Yes sir it is much faster and offers more consistency with tighter tolerances

Can I bring any Pontiac head to Butler for porting ?
( i.e. Ram Air 5 )
@@phillipthethird42 Those are cool heads. We don't currently have a port program for it but may be something we do in the future.

Ok, I'll keep you in mind.
Are these heads the ram air 4 version 340 + cfm?
Yes sir they are the Butler Edelbrock Round Port 340cfm RAIV
That's a big hole it should flow a lot of air.
I have a 65 326 with lead heads , any idea of cost to refurbish?
