I'm from Florida, I went to Arizona, and OMG! I asked them how long it takes to get used to 5% humidity and they said a year or two. you walk outside, it's like walking into a pizza oven.
Raleigh isn't boring, it's just not an attraction city. It's a cafe city. You go to a cafe or a park, or restaurant downtown and read a book or sketch in your sketchbook. Night life is full of Sip n' Strolls, food trucks, and casual socializing... Not much for wild parties
That’s boring and I’m starting to love it 😂. I’m from Nashville Tennessee and it’s a lot bigger and has so much going on and it can also be very chill. Raleigh is a lot smaller and not turned up like Nashville lol but I do miss my city.
@BryantBaudelaire ohhh the cringe lol! Raleigh is 500k ppl over 143mi², vs Nashville 700k at 504mi². Raleigh-Durham MSA is larger than Nashville MSA. Nashville definitely has the whole tourist Broadway stretch of downtown, but that eats up Raleigh, Charlotte, Atlanta, Memphis, Jacksonville, etc. Beyond Broadway, Raleigh is denser and a more cohesive bigger city.
I'm in Charlotte an living here for a year an coming from Baltimore Maryland a party city it tends to attract more trouble which is why I prefer somewhere more remote. I was in Raleigh during the pandemic an I enjoyed it
I recently moved to Raleigh from Detroit last August and for the most part I love it! I’m in my late 40’s so boring is good for me lol I do take a lot of road trips because we are so centrally located to so many places. I haven’t seen a snake yet, thank goodness, and I do go on walks on the trails. Not looking forward to seeing any either. I do enjoy going out to dine, there are some really pretty areas for dining. For the most part everyone is pretty nice and they speak but I’ve noticed that most natives don’t speak… well the women that look like me, but the men are all friendly lol. It does make it hard to form friendships but I’m sure those will come. I think I’ll start looking for book clubs or something like that in order to form a girlfriend circle. All in all, I love that I made the decision to move here.
Thank you for responding to this video. I am also in my 40's and this helps me! My husband and I are looking at relocating to North Carolina and Raleigh may be our choice based on employment opportunities.
@@shannonjones7595 it’s really a beautiful place & despite the rise in petty crime such as car break ins, it’s still as peaceful as ever. I haven’t experienced this personally but my heart goes out to those that have because I’m sure it’s a real inconvenience & feels like a violation. I can’t speak to the job market really because I work remote and my home office is still in MI. I’ve applied for second jobs, retail, no traction on it at all but I’m not sure about corporate. Thank you so much for your comment. I'm planning on relocating to either Raleigh or Greenville, S.C. in the near future. This is helpful in making my decision. I do feel like I'm leaning more towards Raleigh.
I laughed when I read your comment. I am in the process of deciding where to move my family. We currently live in Austin, Texas. I have been traumatized by the snakes we encounter on street corners. Not only do we see them physically, but we also have bad homes and spiritual snake attacks while sleeping. I had decided to move to Raleigh because of all the nightmares, but when I found out there were a lot of them there too, I changed my mind. I had so many nightmares that I decided to move somewhere else. But I pray that God will guide me. We'll be leaving here soon. Texas is not for me.
Visited the Raleigh area 1 month ago & loved it! Although cost of living is always a factor I saw plenty of entry level jobs starting at $15 an hour vs the $7.25 you mentioned. Luckily I'm in the healthcare field so I should be fine.
Austin TX here, wait there are 4 seasons? Cedar Fever is strong here but not snow. We have humidity and it feels like we are in a air fryer outside. Also a pro I saw that you didn't mention is that Car registration is cheaper than Texas. Renewal is also a lot cheaper, $35 vs $78 here. The reason I mention that is because Colorado is like $300 with my car while it's only $78 in Texas.
Hi Roney I'm originally from Brooklyn/Queens, NY been living here since 2017 and I love it. From your name I'm guessing you are like me-of Haitian descent. If so, Sak Pase, frere!

Only venomous snake is the copperhead. Cottonmounths (venomous) only occur in the coastal plain and that starts just east of Knightdale (barely in Wake County). So swimming in lakes around Raleigh is stress free. If you like snakes, like me, its better the further away from Raleigh you are.

Boring, yes. Southern hospitality, as long as you think what they think. There is a reason Trump is so popular in NC. Weather, hot and humid without much of a breeze in the summer. Winter? Damp and cold is normal. Traffic and driving? Raleigh has been well known since the 60s for it's lousy drivers. Never use your blinker, you will be cut off. I grew up in Raleigh and have lived in 6 different states. Raleigh is the last place I would ever move back to.

Southern Hospitality HA! My family moved to Cary/Raleigh from upstate NY in 1972. We were in the early group of IBM transfers. We were hated! We were treated the same horrible way black people were treated. We never had racism within our family so seeing how fellow human beings were treated was shocking and disgusting.
