      Cheers Dave! Yeah they’ve been starting to fire up down here and the bass have been going real good too. Wait till you see this water I’ve got access to. Also how was that bass you got way down in the salt!

    Great stuff mate, what an awesome channel. I chase all the same species a little further north and NZ trout of course. Your presentation, filmography, content and honesty about your tactics puts you a step above a lot of other Aussie fishing youtubers, if not all. My tongue is hanging out to try the foam squid rig for mulloway! Lets see snapper off the rocks and my nemesis, whiting on topwater. Really great stuff, keep on the content. Tight lines.

      Day made mate, it’s the positive feedback like this that make it worth it. Would love to hear how you get on with the foam squid bait, haven’t used it too much down here on the far south coast cos the salmon are plague-like at the moment, but the jewies love it. Can certainly promise some topwater whiting over the next couple months, the land based snapper fishing is something I haven’t delved too much into but am sure I’ll get around to eventually - reckon the single dangle squid would perform well there too. Thanks again!

    I recently got more into flathead fishing and the smallest double clutch has caught me a 78cm flatty. A week later I hook another monster and fought a little hard and he pulled hooks. Only issue I find with double clutches and treble hooks in general on some lures is that if theres any debris in the water it becomes impossible to catch anything. Every cast gets leaves and junk on the lure. Thats when I switch to soft plastics. Anyway, sweet video man enjoyed the tips!

    • @anglinguntangled

      Thank you very much mate, much appreciated! Yes the 75mm version is still a flatty slayer for sure. Just be forewarned that it’s pretty handy to bring some spare trebles as those smaller ones will get trashed by I good flathead thrashing in the net.
      You’re bang on about them being limited to sandy bottoms only, or depth you can keep them just out of the weed, as well as how handy weedless soft plastics can be in that situation. Thanks again mate!

    • @mrsbradpittiful
      @mrsbradpittiful ปีที่แล้ว

      No matter how blunt those tiny trebles appear they will still manage to go straight through your pecker when you least expect it

    Nice little session Louis, that looks like a krackin little water system
    When you let the big 77cm girl go that sand patch looked like some good yabbie holes
    Really like the Atomic rod your using, love the action ( remember i build rods ), I'm not far from building a new one
    ? Would you be able to send me the measurements, guide sizes & spacings by any chance please, I'm familiar with Fujis KR concept (only if you have time 🙏)
    That rod looks a killer setup.
    Dave Lets get some, got a Krackin Jew 120cm in the river. Stonker
    Cheers & Tight lines

      Cheers mate and it is unreal that spot. Nipper beds and mullet everywhere. Yeah those atomic punch above their weight for sure. More than happy to send you the measurements in a couple days legend. Is it the outer diameter of the guides your after?
      Yeah I saw Dave’s fish it was a cracker. You been soo g any catching?

      Yeah the outside of the ring,
      really appreciate it. Looks a great setup.
      I've been fishing the harbour & river
      5 flatty around Dyke point 44 to 58cm & a few in other spots, been really quite fish wise.
      Now the weather is warming up should change.
      Been flat out with building & repairs
      Cheers 🙏🙏

    Nice and entertaining video. I'm yet to hook up on a double clutch but early days using them. Can you please tell me why you went for a 2500 instead of the 3000. Cheers.

    • @anglinguntangled
      @anglinguntangled  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cheers mate! Get that lure bouncing on the bottom (or just above it) and you’ll get results. If the area holds flathead anyway.
      I like 2500 size as they match up well with the rods I like using, and don’t need to drag or line capacity of a 3000 👍🏼

    • @anglinguntangled
      @anglinguntangled  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Shepo! Longtime fan of the channel mate, unreal to hear from you. Definitely want to upgrade the 75mm double clutch trebles but the 95mm IZM double clutches are pretty good. Worth having spares though especially if netting big fish as that’s when they bend and break when the fish is thrashing around

    Do u recommend the atomic rod your using. I have a few rods to replace. I would like a standalone flathead and whiting rod as well as jewfish estuary rod.

    • @anglinguntangled
      @anglinguntangled  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah I think they are excellent for their price. I use the bream surface AAS-70BS (3-8lb) for bream and whiting and the estuary medium light AAS-270ML (6-14lb) for bass flathead and chasing soapies in the river.
