I watch your 2004 sienna spark plug replacement and I did replace my sienna spark plug just follow your method and save me a lot of money and time too. Now I watch your sienna cv axle replacement, I am doing a replacement of the sienna cv axle. Please if you could , show the step more closely because I am DIY beginner in doing this task , any clearer video will be very helpful.....Thank you for the video ...
Very informative, I'm sure you know am little lighting ges a long way. Smol adjustments for perception and contrast. Otherwise, an effective tutorial, I'm ready to do this regardless of my prudish comments. 😂❤
It never hurts to get an alignment but it's not necessary. Some manufacturers use an adjustable strut bolt but Toyota does not on these so as long as you are using the same strut it should all go back together with the same alignment.
Just remove the 3 ball joint nuts and bolt to get enough movement to pull the cv axel out. You don't have to remove the stut bolts. This way you won't need an alignment.
That is another way to tackle this 👍. No alignment is needed after removing the lower strut bolts as they can only go back in one way, there is no adjustment. Same as the ball joint bolts.
Great video! I'm told some aftermarket axles DON'T have the gimbal bearings that an OEM axles has and instead have "slug" bearings. Your new one doesn't look like it has the gimbal bearings. Do you know if the Cardone aftermarket brand would have the gimbal bearings - or which ones would? Thanks!
@@ValleyMobileAutomotive Ok, thanks. I'm going to lift mine using the journeysoffroad lift kit and for this it's important to have the gimbal bearings, so that's the source of my question. I'll keep looking.
@@nwsvndrHow is your Journey lift kit holding up on your Sienna? I just ordered mine. Any issues you’ve encountered? I’m lifting an 06 AWD Sienna. I do have Toyota axles on mine. What tires are you running on yours? Thanks.
@@Workingcockers Falken Rubitrek 235 70R 16. Look and perform great. Supposedly the biggest tires the kit will tolerate. Just got a 2010 4WD and am considering doing that one as well.
Hey thanks Tai. Changing the transmission seal is up to you. It's not always needed. If it's leaking before then definitely take the opportunity while the axle is out. On this vehicle the seal had already been replaced recently so it wasn't needed this time.
You should not lose much fluid if any. You can put a catch pan under it just in case and check the fluid when finished. But draining the fluid before hand isn't necessary 👍
I should add for other viewers that there’s a good chance in the Northeast that your speed sensor bolts are completely seized and you might have to get out a tap and die set for a bolt replacement. I had one side that miraculously came out but the other side was completely stripped from another mechanic’s attempt. Things like this can sink another few days if you have to get additional parts. If there’s another way to replace the CV axle without removing those speed sensors, you might want to consider it.
Remove your brake caliper and suspend it from your strut spring to keep it out of the way. Remove the lower ball joint. There are three bolts holding it on. You can turn the steering wheel all the way in one direction and see if that's enough room. If you need more room remove the two lower strut bolts holding it on to the knuckle. Now the knuckle should be free to pivot out of the way even more.
Just want to add that the brake lines shouldn’t be stretched out like that for a long time, use a bungee cord to support it/hang it.

I did that and i did a big hole in the transmission and now my car is broken thank you for brokeking it
@@antoniogamer5385 How did you put a whole in your transmission?
Hope Santa brings you more viewers for Christmas.....you deserve it. Always great information.

Ok work for diy but one good tip would be taking the caliper off so you don’t fuck the break line

I'm not sure what manufacturers use for their bearings. These are from the local parts store and they hold up really well.

In strut you must re aligned while in ball no need. What if dyi person only another cost fpr alignment.

You're welcome 👍
Very good
Great job. Must engine cool down before removing the axles in siennas?
Not that I've heard of
Great video sir
Thanks 👍
Good job sharing
Nice video. Does the removal of strut bolts require an appointment?
No alignment needed. The strut bolts are non adjustable so it goes back in the same spot it came off 👍
@@ValleyMobileAutomotive Thank you so much for your helps!
Good. Thank
Can you use that method on camry.
Yep it should be the same. In another video I do the passenger side and show how to remove the lower ball joint. Either method works well 👍
How long does the job take
The driver side is super easy compared to the passenger side. Depending on your skill level plan around an hour give or take.
The bolts holding my tie rods down wont come undont so i cant get the room i need to use my axel remover and handle arm so i have no clue what to do

I missed the diagnoses part
I wish the passenger side is easy as the driver side but it's not. The axle is longer with more sections. It's more scary on that side.
😂 Be sure to stretch the shit out of those brake hoses 😂
Rookie... 😂
