KTM 390 ADV service cost is only around 2- 2.5k. I completed my Mumbai to Leh and back road trip and serviced my bike for just 2.1k. Plus the reach of KTM service centres is far better. I was able to get my bike checked at KTM Leh, KTM Patiala during my trip

Nice review ... however what i am trying to understand is this bike is an entry level bike i am sure they had built the 310 based on a budget yet they charge the cost of a premium bike service. That is something which i cannot get my head around. I mean tvs has access to the same accessories and technology yet their service cost is not massive like this. So it makes me wonder are we just paying for the BMW name?

I just bought this bike a month ago and I had this issue of the chain making noise ..
I was told that it ll go away once it's tightened in the first service.
After the first service too my chain still makes that ' tak tak ' kinda noise .. as if it's hitting the roller ..
Do you face the same issue?
All adventure bikes make a chain slap noise as the chain is longer because of longer swing arms and higher grd clearance .. the chain keeps tightening and loosening because of the up down movement of the tyre.. Hope that made some sense..
So chain slap will happen at times

I won't be able to comment on a used bike with precision.. but I think if the bike is in good condition.& Not accidental . it will easily perform its duties till a lakh kms also..

Hey there is no way to make it smoother.. But if your bike hasn't had 1 St service.. then you will feel a noticeable difference..
The gear box is not this bikes strong suite!

best exaust sound. Because most of the time I feel that.. public reaction to cbr650r is less as compared to z900 sound. Please explain about this.
It is simple Z900 has a bigger engine that makes bigger noise.. that's it.

Bought the gs310 2023 white polar. Due fr first service tmrw.
I’m getting too much buzz/ vibrations around 4500-5000rpm at 65-70 kmph.
Pulling the bike beyond 75-80kmph seems a real struggle.
Disappointed feeling that its not even touching 100 with so much of my effort. It might with more struggle but it’s too slow picking up speed beyond 85 and too buzzy.
Wil be happy to hear your thoughts
It's a new bike and hence subject to some additional stress during initial wear n tear.
Dont push it too much, after 1st service you'd feel some improvement and if not, let bmw address the concern

Well it is not the most powerful bike so even I feel the lag in power.. it shouldn't struggle to reach 100 or 120 but it does get vibey at that speed.. Rest Vishal has already answered your query.. Wait for your first service.. it will become smoother than it is

@@docshah8730 the problem is that the bike is tuned for a middle path of on and off road.. So it is not as free flowing as a duke.. that is tuned to rev hard . That is why you see the difference
Bhai Mera tvs 310 rr ka full service cost is every year 10k to 12k.. In paid service.. Using it from 5 years... Tvs Service is wrost.. I think bmw is good atlest they maintenance and quality of service is good..

Only go for spoke wheels if you are gonna go for hard core offroading.. if not .. then i dont see the sense in it.. because i also do offroads & so far haven't faced an issue

Sir hum 1 yr mei 30k km wale log hai ( one bike for all usages ) 😅 toh us hisab se 21k rupee hogya yearly or agr hum himalayan ki service dekhte hai toh it will be around 3k jo ki bahut hai , 3k is basically the addition of 2 service cost of re himalayan. But again yes u are right (if you want to buy a premium bike then maintenance will be costly coz its a premium brand)

My bike is delivered by 17th April..only from your video i can justify my choice..other videos bas kharap e bolta gs 310ko..they saying 150 pe cruising nehi kar sakta.. service cost Jada h..slow h..
So can you tell me whats the cruising speed with pillion and without pillion (not tensed about vibration)..how you overtake some vehicle at 80-90 speed..how gs is good at that speed for overtake?
The speed till which I have taken the GS is 140 but.. I won't recommend it.. as per me the crushing speed of GS is 90-100 beyond that you can feel that the bike doesn't like it.
See if you are looking at highway speeds then KTM is a better choice Frankly!;
But the cruising speed of KTM 390 adventure is 120..

Front or Rear Suspension adjustment?
Front is non adjustable.. Rear only.. Front can only be adjusted if you change the spring or oil or both

But there is an incident, which made me concerned when I visited Pune Motorrad a week ago. They are using Castrol Edge and Servo Engine oil instead of BMW Engine Oil. Is that true in your case too?
Seriously?! Coz i service my there.. never imagined this would happen. Also in my last visit I saw the technician carrying bmw oil cans

PS: I absolutely LOVE this bike. I have been wanting to buy it since I first saw it in Hyderabad at a restaurant. Just got my first job, hopefully in a few months I will have my own jarvis. I had some doubts and concerns regarding the high service cost, but honestly 7.7K is not bad considering everything they did for your bike and that its a once in a year service. My only concern is that my current city has no BMW showrooms and I will have to travel around 350-400kilometers for the nearest one.

7.5 k is a wrong cost to consider.. you should assume around 10-12 k average.. But still at that cost it is really not bad..The only time BMW will murder you if you have Damages.. But it is BMW so you have to be mentally prepared before you buy it

Chcha kisne bola KTM ka bill 7000 ata hai, meri bike 3300 me service hoti hai that too paid service, excluding any additional wear & tear parts to be installed

You are comparing 2 wrong machines for 2 wrong purposes
I think you bought it with wrong expectations..
KTM engine is road biased and since you are spending all your time on road you feel KTM is better.

You are misleading people.. Atleast KTM is DYI.. and they sell their parts at counter at service center.. Recently dropped my DUKE and one side Crash guard only costs 250 Rs in KTM showroom...

In all classes of bikes..BMW cost of maintenance is much higher then their contemporaries.. So they should buy prepared.. although.. I would also like to add that even 15k with parts as a cost.. once a year is really not too high.. considering it is a BMW

@@NomadSam don't get me wrong , but the engine is same , paint quality is same , top speed is same , paying 30 to 35k for a logo change and then pay 10 to 15k for the service , yeah sure they'll do it properly but sir here we're talking about twice or thrice the money for a service for the same components , if i put oil filter of apache on your bmw , you won't be able to tell the difference , at the same time if i wrap an apache with the same paint scheme of bmw's version , there's zero to no difference . so it's not about the brand value but it's more about how is company overcharging you for the brand .
But the bike isn't the same.. Engineering of GS is completely different.. also if only engine mattered.. then Skoda Octavia and Audi A4 have the same engine.. does that make them the same car or the same category of car??

Whatever may be the brand, brand value is not directly proportional to the service cost..
At last it's a 300 cc segment bike. Depending on the engine size segment, the maximum service cost should be in line with other brand service costs..
You are just consoling yourself that it's BMW and the service cost is justified.

You already pay more cuz you are having a BMW, they do the same with cars. But after you buy it, they keep charging you more for the same service. If BMW parts were really high tech and the service premium as well it is in another countries, I would understand. But as owner, do you really think its worth?
I already own a BMW car.. I know you will find the charges are higher.. but you have to understand from volume of sales perspective.. that why they are expensive..
I will explain you simply.. if you buy a fortuner today.. the company makes 45000 on the fortuner.. The Govt makes 18 lakh in taxes.. how do you think Toyota will then make money..

They sell less they charge higher. Thats the way it is, I just dont think its really fair to clients, and it doesnt prospect many. Im brazilian, the cost for us is higher for a lot of reasons, including gov taxes, but in the last few years we watched the companies triplicate the prices, they said it was happening becuz of covid, dolar price etc but now we are going to an economic stability, its more than 1 year pandemics is over here, but companies still had their prices 3 times than 2020. The same bike, literally same bike costs 3 times more. But now indian and chinese companies are coming to us, and they are coming with a lot of technology for less price. So, thats why I was saying..Its not just taxes cuz every market has its own things to run the way they are running. As you said, BMW sell less in India, no wonder why, the price is not really affordable for many ppl there, and India has a really big market with a lot of options. I can say surely.. India is a biker dream. Im looking forward to be there soon and understand better what u r talking bout.

Slight correction - ADV 390 service cost is 2400 Rs. Service interval is 6 months or every 7500 km. So the service quality depends on the service center adn my experience in India especially Andheri Ahuja KTM is exceptionally excellent as per my experience. Hence, the service cost of BMW is not at all justified as compared to KTM. KTM is a big bike brand however doesn't have big bikes yet in India. If a brand is charging you basis it being a brand, I think we know where the problem is however its your bike and since you love it, no comments further.
