Jessica Burton or more! What about those women who have endo or pcos, they’re bleeding so much more, and sometimes, theyll continue to spot and bleed all Willy nilly on no schedule after menopause starts. What fucking garbage.
As a period cup user, I've never had any problems with having to empty the cup in a public restroom. Because I can wear them for up to 12 hours, I just empty it before going somewhere public for awhile. So for the menstrual cup newbies, best decision EVER!
This could be a bit TMI but here we go: I have really heavy periods and mine can fill up within an hour on the "heavy flow days". I used them for a while now so of course I also had to empty it in a public restroom as well. It's uncomfortable, sure, but not horrible. Just use a ton of toilet paper to wipe it afterwards and make sure to wash it as soon as you get home. Wipe the fingers as well (I don't need two hands to do it anyway so I just use the "clean hand" for the door etc afterwards) and yeah, it's done. The awkward thing could be sounds and a lot of blood in the toilet, meaning having to flush a few times but... better than leaking lol. Pro tip: DON'T DROP IT. FOCUS.
@@Schwarzmalerxxx im not sure this is ok to do but ive always just emptied it down the loo and rinsed it with a little bottle of clean fresh water i carried specifically for this worked well for me but obviously different for everyone
Wow there expensive in the us in the uk brands like always are £3 and body form are about £1.50 for 12-16 I can’t believe there that expensive for yall !!!
Rebecca Rønningen I haven’t had it for quite that long, 125 days was the longest I’ve had before I managed to get it under control with hormone pills. I can’t imagine that hell, but for another 3 times that much. Good luck in getting on top of it
I genuinely feel sorry for all the people out there who have to deal with periods. And to think there are some people who say getting kicked in the balls is worse
Well I mean, if it happened for quarter of a month every month it *would* be worse. If it's a one off, I'd take a period than being kicked hard in the balls, but since it's not a one off, getting kicked in the balls once is nowhere near as bad.
Pond don’t get me wrong. Getting kicked in the balls FUCKING KILLS. But the fact that you bleed our of your thingy is pretty insane to think about. And I’ll never know how painful it is but it’s surely worse in comparison
Girl secret: It depends on the girl. Hormones go nuts during that time, and can result in cramps, moodswings, moodswings because of cramps, etc. but it depends on the girl. Some girls get those, others don't.
Little hint, love, periods don't hurt unless there is something wrong. They get a little tiring, but most of the stuff said about them is utter crap made up by people who want an excuse to be cranky. Being kicked in the balls has to be a lot worse. Personally, I love periods. My senses are sharper, the sensations involved, sensational. Being female is not an affliction, but a privilege. Having your genitalia in a place where they can be injured so easily must be hellish.
Yay! You might consider also period panties for days you need a little back up security and a bidet. Even a handheld one is a cleanliness miracle! Three best purchases of my adult life.
No more periods, just hot flashes, night sweats, no sleep, brain fog, dry vagina, vaginal atrophy, emotions all over the place. But at least there is HRT to help with all that.
55 here, started menopause around 2 years ago, I went through a brief stage of the hot flush, nothing dramatic. Prior to menopause I never got moody, my mood hasn't changed at all. My only complaint now I'm menopausal is I've lost all interest in sex. Damn good thing I'm single. Not even interested in playing with my toys
why am i here, im literally a whole man. pretty interesting doe. men really need to respect women because they go through so much and some men still refuse to accept that women are physically and mentally stronger than men.

As a fellow new cup user, I cried with laughter and can totally relate to “I thought I was going to die with a silicone cup stuck up my vagina” SO DID I!!!🤣🤣🤣
i have a question about changing your cup in public bathrooms, like do you just not do it/ wait to go home or is there a process you follow? i know she talked a little about it in the video but i kinda wanna know about someone who does it regularly
@@semya161 I have used a cup for about 5-6 years now and if you don't bleed very heavy, you can change it two times a day and it's fine, once in the morning and once in the evening, I never had to change it in a public bathroom. Actually, I sometimes didn't change it for about 24 hours (at the end of my period) but the people who sell it can only say that it's safe to use if you change at least every 12 hours. So that's your own risk if you leave it in longer and I can only speak for myself but I never had problems with leaving it in longer.
@@semya161 I bleed very heavy at my first 2 days. If I change in a punlic bathroom I just empty it in the toilet and I clean the blood on the cup(if there is any) with some toilet paper and if I get home I'll clean it properly with some water.
I've been using for about a year now, and I've never really talked about it with anyone so I was laughing and nodding along to the video, because yeah it is HELL at first, and I was so devastated thinking it wasn't going to work out for me when it seemed like such a convenient option, but you DO get used to it and if you stick with it it becomes a lot easier.
Tips for cup noobs: 1. You can get away with only doing the insertion and removal in the shower, so once in the morning and once at night. That makes it a lot more bearable and feels cleaner if you're like me and are grossed out by the human body in general. 2. The punch down fold starts narrower and gets wider as more goes in, like a cone almost so it's a lot easier when you're starting out. 3. If you feel the cup, it isn't in far enough. To get it in farther, it's easiest to squat and while pushing the cup in farther with one finger, TMI but flex your vaginal muscles so it feels like they're pulling the cup. This will help the cup get a better grip and actually stay up. 4. Caution: When inserting the cup, I place a finger between the cup and my pubic bone. This prevents a painful snap of the silicone against your urethra if the cup opens too early on accident. Having your finger as a barrier will save you some agony I PROMISE. 5. Removal! This is easiest in a squat. Use your vaginal muscles to push the cup down. Don't try to pull it out by the stem! This is very important because if you try to pull it by the stem, it will be painful due to the suction. Use the stem to guide your finger to the base of the cup and gently press on the cup to make it cave in a little. This breaks the suction seal. At this point you can usually get a second finger in to pinch the base of the cup (to keep the suction seal broken) and gently pull it out. Again, if you can, protect your urethra from that painful snap when it comes out. Hopefully any part of this information is helpful to those of you who may be considering the cup but haven't been sure because it sounds difficult. Good luck!~
as a cup user, the learning curve on these babies is STEEP. when I first got mine, I tried it once and didn’t use it for a year after. once you get it figured out though, you don’t notice a thing and it’s super low maintenance and comfy!
Humi27 how long depends on the flow. the best way to tell is you feel the suction failing (feels like bubbles *up there*). size, do some research. it’s different for every cup, and most have a size guide. most import thing is to make sure it’s not too long if you have a low cervix.
As an 80 year old, I wish these were available when I could take advantage. Maybe they were but I was just thrilled when I discovered tampons. I have to say I laughed as I watched your video. I am sure you helped so many that need this product.
there was an early version that came out possibly 100 yrs ago... but it never really took off- it was made from rubber - and MUCH harder than the silicon ones ( can feel it/ uncomfortable) .. the silicon ones have really only been around since the early 2000s/late 1990s :)
It’s ridiculous how big a lot of cups are, I’ve done lots of research on cup sizes and the second smallest cup was still too big for me, and the smallest didn’t pop open :/
We actually had that it during sex education in school the boys thought it was funny so they had to write a essay about it and now theres only one girl in a class of 14 girls who doesn’t use it. We to know when every one is due so that we can cover and help them. The boys know to and are not ashamed to tell us in secret or give us their sweater if incidents happen. I am so proud this class is gold
Whenever the sight of a blood-filled cup (and no, not writing a secondhand quality fantasy novel) seems unsettling, I remember the sight of bloodstained clothing and bedding that makes me so much more angry. I just remember it. Enough anger for a whole year.
Safiya Nygaard found that the cup works very well in combination with some period panties, using the cup for the first few heavy days, then switching to the panties when things slow down and the cup is excessive for what was needed. The panties may not last as long as the cup, but even if you get a couple years out of a pair it's a lot less waste than disposable products, and may be more comfortable for those last couple days. Something to look into.
I adore the transparency of this channel. Between this, the diets, the nude drawing, dangerous websites, etc. etc., I know I'll always here "the real shit" here. Also you never fail to make me laugh, so each upload is a gift.
An amazing thing that recently happened in Austria was a MASSIVE reduction of taxing on women's sanitary products. They cost way way less now and I think that's awesome. Still, I'm looking for someting reusable to reduce waste and your videos are helping a lot!
"Why white?" I'm guessing it was more "pick the no-dye option" because production of dye can have nasty chemicals. You can tie-dye the bag with ink that you can make from hibiscus flowers. Lovely video, (thank you.) Menstruation is natural and if we talk about it more we can shed the squeamish patriarchal reaction. [Love your body] (If your cup gets "too comfortable" you can fold it to get it back out.)
In the states the biggest selling cup is the diva cup. The bag for that is purple with flowers, but the inside is lined with something that makes it seem waterproof which is nice to ensure everything stays super clean from dust and anything else
Mine was stuck, I cried so hard. I fainted and my mum had to help me get it out. Edit: it was freekin embarrassing and I almost went to the hospital. Another reason to respect my mum
For anyone who has a problem with the suction not breaking its an easy fix.... As you grasp the stem, slide one finger as you bear down along side the cup this will break the seal that is created by the cup which is what keeps the cup catching everything. The cup has little holes on the sides so all you have to do is break the seal so air can get in and you are good to go.
"I didn't sign up for a monthly subscription to bleed from my uterus" 😂 an actual mood! I laughed so hard haha. Thanks for being real with us and for this video as it helps people like me who are dubious about these products.

I looked this up because I was shocked but they actually lowered it to 10% into 2019 !! Still disgustingly high for sanitary products but its progress at least x sending you all my love x
Me: **a menstrual cup veteran** Me: **watching newbies review it as if I’ve nvr used one before** _wtf am I doin here_ Also with public spaces I use the toilet paper to clean out the cups and when I go home I rinse it out thoroughly. As for s cup being too big, the “punchdown” fold is much better Bc it ends up making the point that u insert a lot smaller than the taco fold.
Also a veteran! Yes! Punchdown for the win. Menstrual cups are literally a game changer. I save SO much money and my cramps are lessened. The smell is gone from the chemical crap in pads and tampons and heat being held into the pads. SO MUCH BETTER.
Yes! another alternative is to carry a small bottle of water with you, so you can use it to rinse the cup over the toilet. Personally I wipe it with toilet paper, as you do (I guess I'm lazy), but some of my friends use the water technique.
I just got mine today. I'm literally obsessed with watching these "I tried a menstrual cup" vids! Thought it's gonna be worse than I expected because of all these vids but it's okay, inserting and stuff was fine for me! I'm glad my mama let me get this because I think it's amazing thing. I'm also bored of pads and tampons (which is pretty bad, period is gonna be with me loooong time because of my age) and I believe this will be it. I love the community so hopefully one day I'll be there too!
I love how open young women are about this subject. I'm 64, and way back when it was so taboo, when it should not have been,( But a lot of things were). Your videos are great by the way. Keep up the good work.
I don’t know how I ended up here. I really must love your channel 1. I am male and therefore don’t have a period 2. I don’t get a period or cramps 3. This is a video about a female and her period Most governments are run by males who don’t bleed for most of the year

At the start of my cycle, I also wear a reusable pad. I've noticed that using a cup has been far more comfortable (and definitely more affordable) than pads and tampons. Tampons always seem to make me feel dry and uncomfortable. Haven't had the issue since using a cup.
@@nienkevanelburg7170 no, it doesn't coz it's pretty slippery 😉 and when I am putting it in, I rinse it with water, that makes the cup slippery and it slids in nicer
Oh My Goodness, your channel showed up on my feed this morning. I laughed out loud a couple times during the video. I love your frank discussion and self deprecating humour. It is insane that menstrual products are considered to be luxury items and taxed accordingly.
When I first started having periods I honestly lost the will to live just because they were so heavy and the pain was immense....but then I discovered pain pills and all these different options, makes me so happy that i'm not in this alone (^-^)

@@szamashups2476 Agreed. Though I do agree that every effort should be made to make it as affordable as possible. Though who am I kidding. Capitalism will say nay nay.
V3loCiTy123 I definitely think it’s waayy to expensive, they should lower the price. However to say it should be free is a bit weird. Like, who’s going to pay for them to be made if they have to give them out for free? no one can afford that
I'm allergic to some materials in things such as pads and tampons, and these things are absolute life savers. So easy to maintain, so much more comfortable, and also has that perk of my dog not trying to eat it.
I think the reason for that is that viagra is actually a drug to improve blood circulation to support the heart muscle. It is not meant to make penises hard, it is just a side effect that many men make use of (and then die by messing up their heart because they take too much).

I saw the title, snorted, pressed play, and set my phone aside to listen to while changing my menstrual cup. I'm a veteran of a few years. I'm about 4 minutes in your video now. And I'm curious to hear what you have to say. I think I'm going to make comments as I watch. -You want it to be thick. The thicker, the easier to seal. You'll know it's sealed when it feels inflated and rotates easily. -My go-to folding position is... how do I phrase it.. invert one side at a 45 degree angle so that it has one point? -Shower changes are the best. -Weird that yours goes higher. Mine tends to lower as it fills. -When I'm taking it out I stick one finger in and break the seal first. -I've only had to change it out of home a handful of times. Mostly because I'd forgotten to at home. It's best if you use a family bathroom or single bathroom (and yes, I have used the sink. You've used the sink for your hands after changing tampons, yes?). A couple times I only had a stall and had to just dump it and stick it right back up without washing it then making liberal use of TP.... not my finest moment. Cups aren't for everybody. You get far more familiar with your body than you'd dared before. Your hands never escape unsoiled. And you become intimately aware of exactly the quantities, thickness, and color of your period. But after all this time I could never go back to tampons, let alone pads.
Just want to add that if you have a heavy flow you can expect to change it when youre out. I bleed a lot and i can only keep my cup in for about 4 hours (which is still more than twice as long than pads btw!). I regulary empty it in public bathrooms, but you get used to it
@@Harukaneshi the funny thing is that the content of your period is not homogenous - basically even if you leak, you will leek not blood first since it's heavier and will be at the bottom your cup, but (dang how is that called?) colourless fluid which is really easy to wash anyway. apart from that, it depends on the day and your flow. i usually never do since i sincerely hate pads and tampons, but some people may also, you will learn on the way

You are brilliant! Having lost my uterus at 40, the one bright spot was that I no longer had to pay out a lot of money on products of which I disapproved, from a waste point of view. I had never heard of period cups until today. I think that lots of women are going to bless your name, inspired by your courage, they’ll leave the expensive tampons and pads on the supermarket shelves, I hope, & switch to cups. Well done, putting this out there.
Nope...gladly pay for glasses to see. This is for both women and men. Only women bleed without notice. You try bleeding every month for decades without notice. Poor young lady intern where I worked bled onto her chair at work and tried to cover it up with a sweater...I finally realized this and stayed late to switch out her chair with another one. Glad I no longer bleed.
Or people who wear contacts. Before the big frames became fashionable I hadn't been able to get glasses that I could wear at all times and used bi-weekly contacts. That was Hella expensive. Now I have 2 pairs of glasses that I can swap and I'm so happy about that.

As someone who's been using a menstrual cup for a few years now, here are some tips that I hope are helpful to someone! 1. I found the punch down method is a lot easier for insertion to begin with because then it's more of a 'cone' shape to insert as opposed to a 'cylindrical' shape of the c-fold. 2. Someone already said it, but water based lube helps a lot. 3. If you can feel the cup after insertion throughout the day there could be two main reasons (to my knowlage), one is the little stalk at the bottom of the cup might be too long for you so you may need to trim it, or you may not have the cup far enough up your hooha (once the cups inside you can use your finger to slowly push it further up, it cant get lost but you may feel it suction around your cervix which is uncomfy so it's a bit of trial and error to find the right possitioning) you shouldnt be able to feel it if it's in correctly! 4. I've found that to retrieve the cup, the best time/position to do it is sitting down on the toilet before a shower, and do some kegel exercise push thingies, which is just squeezing you pelvic floor muscles (the pushing ellbat mentioned), this will push the cup further out and within reach for you to break the suction and pull it out while dumping majority of the blood straight in the toilet (to be fair, doing it on the toilet is best if a sink is in the same room) or you can do it in the shower, get into a low squat and do the same thing. And 5. Do as much research on what cup works best for you (because there are a lot to chose from. The website putacupinit.com has a chart that compares almost all the cups on the market right now), how to do everything and what to expect, even fo a bit of reading up on what Toxic Shock Syndrome actually is and how its caused just so you know what would actually have to be done to get it, and therefore you can avoid doing that. Hope these are helpful!
I just tried today, first time it actually fit nicely inside, forgot about it, but it gave me huge cramps, went to empty it out and now i cant get it far up enough, the stem was sticking out and hurting, so i cut it a bit, put it in and tried like that, it was the exact same, no matter how much i cut it it stuck out the same painful amount, sinse i didnt use the stems for anything i just cut it off entirely (even tho i have a medium/long cervix), sinse then (after that first try) i was never able to apply it correctly again, its either opened with the bottom of the cup sticking out, or remains folded inside there, ive tried every possible fold, best is the punch down, every position, everything, its either up in there stuck close, and doesn't pop open no matter what, or when i do twirl it around or push the fold up so it pops open, it just gets pushed right out and the bottom of the cup is sticking out, im so confused the only time it worked it gave me awful cramps which apparently means it was too far up, but even then, i could just deal with them, id be fine, i used to have really bad cramps anyway, but i cant put it in that deeply anymore, it just stays completely folded, i honestly just gave up and am now wearing a pad, after 4 days of extremely painful attempts, drying myself completely, i just gave up on it, i dont know what to do, do you have any idea whats happening? Ive googled everywhere and no one seems to be having the same problems as i am, maybe i Googled the wrong thing idk, im wearing the smallest size btw
@@R0s3.R3d hi! During our period, the cervix drops and the vaginal canal becomes shorter, this may be why you found it fit the first day yet didnt the next, you also may find that you vaginal canal is just shorter in general or you have a naturally low cervix (a good indication is if you can feel your cervix with your finger and what knuckle is still showing, sorry about being a bit graphic) which is very normal! I would probably suggest to but a new cup that's shorter, theres a quiz on putacupinit.com that gives you a rough idea if what sort of cup you should look for, I think it's one of the first google results when you search for the website. If you want a few brands to look at that sell shorter cups, you could look at Juju, Saalt or Merula, but there are a ton out there so look around for one that's best for you because there are other factors like firmness(which can effect how easily it opens) that may impact your decision. It may seem expensive at first to buy a new one out right, but in the long run, it's still alot cheaper then buying pads and tampons every month. I hope this helps!
@@R0s3.R3d Hi, my cup also doesn't pop, I've only feel it once but never hear it. What I've try is go around the cup inside and try to open fully with my finger and be sure that is not fold any more. After that I do up and down checking for suction. But about the sticking out thing can't give any trick to try out.
Bruna Gama the cup not popping open issue, I’ve had that. If you’re using the punch down method of insertion you may be punching down too far or folding it too tight. You want to create a negative pressure to keep the cup in, but if the cup isn’t loose enough to unfold it won’t, or it will and you’ll feel it suck to your cervix (very painful) loosen your fold a bit.
Bruna I had the same issue with it giving me cramps and having trouble getting it out. The recommendations I have seen is to try a different style of cup. The cup I have is pretty stiff plastic so I am looking at trying a softer one to see if that helps.
I would recommend doing a lot of research on menstrual cups before trying them out. There are many different types of period cups that differ in size, form and material. Depending on how strong your muscles are, how sensitive you are, how high your cervix is, whether you've had a child before, how heavy your flow is, etc. certain cups are better for you.
Love love love this - I converted to the cup over a year ago and it’s the best thing I did! I always found my period exceptionally stressful and hated leaving the house for fear of anything appending; this has fixed all of that. Yes sometimes it takes a little bit more forethought in public situations but you also don’t need to change it NEARLY as frequently as a tampon or pad. It’s fantastic and I would highly recommend! Though you are absolutely correct... not for the squeamish ☺️🌺✌️
Here are my tips: 1. Water-based Lube. Can't imagine my first time using a menstrual cup without it (I did attempt, but just no). 2. A good video reference on learning certain "techniques" on how to more comfortably insert and remove the menstrual cup is the TH-cam channel "Precious Stars Vlog". Another video that was useful was directly from Organicup's TH-cam channel. I am sure there are more, but these were the most useful/helpful when I was starting out. I am now on my 4th year and it's an absolute game changer, but it definitely took a learning curve.
Another few tips are 1) don't panic, it won't get lost up there 2) for the first few times its helpful to change it in the shower 3) make sure your cervix isn't outside the cup especially if yours is tilted
I'll add to try inserting it the first time in between periods. That way you can get comfortable with the process without worrying about and dealing with the mess. Gets your head out of it
look up "put a cup in it" for more resources, they have a TH-cam channel and a website which has a quiz to find the best cup for you as well as charts comparing different cups to each other.
First, THANK GOD I am finally over the years of dealing with having a period. Second, hi and this was an informative video I did not search for. For all of the ladies in your child bearing years just remember one day it will stop. Then you have the joy of dealing with hot flashes, irritability, and the hormonal roller coaster. Being a female means once you think you have mastered your body, that is the point every thing will turn upside down on you and your back at square one.
I watched loads of videos on how to insert a cup and tips. Just so I felt somewhat confident that I wasn't doing something wrong. The first few times I wore mine I was aware of it for the first few hours as well, after that I didn't notice it. It took me about a month to really get the insert process down to around 2 minutes tops. I am happy I tried it. Wearing tampons always gave me anxiety because of toxic shock. I recently tried reusable pads, they work great. Just bought some cheaper pack off amazon that's made with bamboo.
Right??? I was just thinking today- its a full moon- and thats around the time I cycle- that i have been using the cup for about 7 years!! And i have noticed BEAUTIFUL changes- i dont have as bad as cramps as i used to have, a cleaner and maybe a lighter flow, depends on the diet the week before but dude! @@rileyy448 it’s not. The easiest way is to pinch it as you pull down ward. It has a seal, if you think of a suction cup on a flat surface, the way to release is to break the seal. I usually pinch as I pull it down and if needed you can tilt the cup a bit, you’ll feel the seal break lol kinda feels like a queef lol. And it’ll come right out. The seal it forms is what keeps it from leaking but let me know
Great video! I'm on year 5 or 6 of using a cup, and I can't imagine using anything else after this. I'm sure someone has already said this, but a little advice if you're out and about and need to use a public restroom: choose a handicap restroom if available, because they ususally have sinks inside, even when the other ones don't.

But other than me rambling here are some tips: ♡You Can Use it For 12 hours or more (depending on your period) ♡There are different sizes of cup for 18 and under or 18 and over and more ♡You cannot loose your virginity wearing a menstrual cup ♡It it atomically impossible for it to get stuck in your vagina (unlike tampons) ♡most women don't feel it when they're wearing the cup ♡on your first time trying it is recommended to wear a pad/pantyliner in case of any leakage ♡there are 9 different methods of folding the cup (at the moment) ♡ recommended to boil for 3-5 mins before use ♡you can rinse it with water or boil it for 3-5 mins after your period ends (recommended way) ♡you can also use a intimate wipe/ tissue if you are in a public setting (if clean water is not available) ♡if you want to test if it is secure, once you insert it, give it a little tug and if it doesn't move it's secure ♡to make insertion easier wet the rim of the cup (or use a lubricant) ♡4 different ways to insert the cup: Standing up, Squatting, Putting one leg up on the toilet or Sitting on the toilet ♡remember to relax before and during inserting ♡you can use your stomach muscles to force the cup down making it easier to grip ♡make sure cup is unfolded after inserting ♡9/10 women use the cup after testing it ♡you can sleep with the cup in ♡reusable so it's wastefree/environmental friendly ♡lasts 3 years or more ♡it might be sore the first few times you insert and remove it ♡two best brands of menstrual cups to use: The Diva Cup and The Organi Cup (most known) ♡recommended to buy with longer stems (they're uncommon to come with short stems either way) ♡if stem is long, cut it a little shorter ♡the menstrual cup only collects (doesn't absorb) ♡depending on the length of your cervix buy the cup with the longer stem or length ♡the average cervix is 6cm long (length) ♡the menstrual cup leaves less bad odours compared to pads or tampons ♡chemicals in pads/tampons aggravate period pains ♡menstrual cups take a while to get used to before 100% leakage proof ♡generally messier and more intimate ♡forgetting to empty/clean it (the vacuum suction only works if you clean it out. Don't forget to unclog the 4 small holes) ♡since it's small it's easier to loose in draws/cupboards ♡make sure to get the right size or it might be painful to insert and may cause leakage (it’s a good idea to measure your curvix) Also: there’s a video on the “Organicup - Menstrual Cup” channel on how to use the cup
tanq uzunova Yeah don’t worry it’s completely fine to swim with it just make sure to empty it before 12 hours* (or sooner depending on your period) because it gets unhygienic after a while. But here’s a link :th-cam.com/video/d6mUj0b03Qw/w-d-xo.html It will shows you the basics and how to measure your curvix (btw you have to measure it on your period). Here’s also the quiz so you know which cup to get (it’s personalised):vag.life/thecupquiz
Just a random Potterhead hello yes, it can’t get lost inside you as there simply isn’t enough space up there for it to disappear. Although it might move positions to be higher up. Edit: if you try to get it out and it can’t be found it’s not stuck it’s just further up where u cant reach it, this is why it’s important to measure your curvix so you can get the right cup for you.
I was trolling U tube last night and found your channel. Started with the non washing of the hair for a month, then the period cup. My son and daughter in law woke up to my screeching with laughter. They thought I had entered dementia, with no pre warnings. I'm telling my sis in the morning. Love ya!!!
"They come in lots of different sizes. Depending on, you know... your... personal... square footage. Don't know why I'm talking about vagina size as if it's a one bed apartment." Well of course it isn't a one bed apartment; _that_ would be a uterus.
I use the diva cup. There's only 2 sizes small and large. My husband ordered it for me and got me the large size. I was so offended. 🤣🤣🤣 He said the small is for women that have not had children and the large is for women who have had children. Then I felt better. Lol.
@@donitawhite8111 I've tried several different brands of cups, diva , luna and the little disposable ones why the heck they make disposable ones I don't get anyway.. am going to try the meluna now... unfortunately I have a heavy flow and 2 kids so I have problems with getting a proper seal. Have used cups for years tho, i'll never go back to disposable products again. I actually found out by accident that a lot of my cramping was being caused by the tampons.... I asked my midwife about it and she confirmed that many women have issues with cramps when using tampons.... who knew?
I got the Mooncup almost 7 years ago and I have not looked back since. So happy to see another person enjoying the benefits of using a reusable menstrual cup. :)

Maria Maradiaga the menstrual cup is amazing for me. lifesaver when i don’t have tampons on me or near me cause i just have to empty it, wash it and put it back in. so much simpler and you don’t have to change it as often if you cant
Women should do a protest were all of them let their period out, like don't wear tampons, pads, anything. And go to their normal life to see what they think about seeing blood in public transport, etc etc
I think a movement like that would be really humiliating because of how people would respond. Just seeing blood on the public toilet seat is nasty to a lot of people - in public, women would be shunned and if it got bad enough i can imagine men "inspecting" girls to make sure they have a tampon/pad/cup
It would be disastrous for their health imagine how many diseases it will attract I think the best thing to do is teach the children about it so tht the women in future don't have to go through all this
what's bizarre to me is that people forget to take out their tampons/cups when they're on their period!!! also i've only ever used a tampon ONCE and that was a few weeks ago and it was extremely scary lol but i would definitely love to try out the cup :0 thank u :)

As a period cup user, I've never had any problems with having to empty the cup in a public restroom. Because I can wear them for up to 12 hours, I just empty it before going somewhere public for awhile. So for the menstrual cup newbies, best decision EVER!
This could be a bit TMI but here we go:
I have really heavy periods and mine can fill up within an hour on the "heavy flow days".
FOCUS.
@@Schwarzmalerxxx Yes. TMI.

I miss my period. Now I'm old and dried up.
Ladies menopause can be hell, read up about it, no one tells you.
No more periods, just hot flashes, night sweats, no sleep, brain fog, dry vagina, vaginal atrophy, emotions all over the place. But at least there is HRT to help with all that.
Woohoo, I started menopause at 48, but before anyone boos me, I started my period at age 9 !!! So believe me, I earned early menopause. 😏

i have a question about changing your cup in public bathrooms, like do you just not do it/ wait to go home or is there a process you follow?
i know she talked a little about it in the video but i kinda wanna know about someone who does it regularly

Tips for cup noobs:
ABSOLUTELY! The very first times I was trying it never took me less than 30 minutes to leave the bathroom 😂 but now I love it!
I was very close to crying the first time, but it gets so much better and i dont want to live without it anymore...
How long before u gotta empty it?
Is it good for heavy flow and how do u know what size to get
Humi27 how long depends on the flow. the best way to tell is you feel the suction failing (feels like bubbles *up there*). size, do some research. it’s different for every cup, and most have a size guide. most import thing is to make sure it’s not too long if you have a low cervix.
I honestly love how straight forward this video is.
this makes me so happy, thank u

I love this advice !!!! Thank you darling

Someone mentioned this !! I probably should’ve realised because the bag feels super raw - but thank you for pointing it out !! :) x
Also, by pressing a finger on the side to release the vacuum it creates helps.
In the states the biggest selling cup is the diva cup. The bag for that is purple with flowers, but the inside is lined with something that makes it seem waterproof which is nice to ensure everything stays super clean from dust and anything else

am never using it
I feel you man. I suctioned my cervix and almost died. Ive still only used it for the 1 period.... yea .. im afraid of it now
Not literally.. just emotionally. And it really hurt
If you ever have an issue with tampons or cups being stuck you can use a spoon to get them out. The more you know 🤗
"I didn't sign up for a monthly subscription to bleed from my uterus" 😂 an actual mood! I laughed so hard haha. Thanks for being real with us and for this video as it helps people like me who are dubious about these products.

Also with public spaces I use the toilet paper to clean out the cups and when I go home I rinse it out thoroughly.

Been using cups for almost 10 years now, best thing ever. My ADVICE : practice putting it in while you are not on your period!
Thanks for the advice, that’s actually super smart!
I tend to put it in a few days before I’m due because 1) sometime Mother Nature likes to surprise me early and 2) it gets me on my game 😹 and ready
Doesn't it hurt then when you take it out? Like when you take out a dry tampon?

All the products should be free, because WE DO NOT CHOOSE TO BLEED FOR 2 MONTHS OF THE YEAR FOR LIKE 40 YEARS!!!!!!!!!
Exactly
I think it’s 3 months 12 weeks = 3 months
Well then food should be free as well because we do not choose to die if we don’t eat
Fun fact: People want to start having viagra covered by insurance but not birth control 😑
Birth control inst covered by insurance where you live? Thats sad. For people under 18 its even completely free in belgium
princess 1618 Unfortunately that is not the case in America😭
My God. I've been pissed about this for a long time. This makes zero sense. Unless you're a misogynist
I think the reason for that is that viagra is actually a drug to improve blood circulation to support the heart muscle. It is not meant to make penises hard, it is just a side effect that many men make use of (and then die by messing up their heart because they take too much).
@@Sarah-og3mp That is not the case in your neighbouring country the Netherlands either. I can get so angry about shit like this. The world revolves around dick, dick and dick only
I saw the title, snorted, pressed play, and set my phone aside to listen to while changing my menstrual cup.
I regulary empty it in public bathrooms, but you get used to it
princess 1618 thats what I was about to ask, I'm heavy flow too, do you wear the cup alone or with a lil pad in case it spills or idk?
@@Harukaneshi the funny thing is that the content of your period is not homogenous - basically even if you leak, you will leek not blood first since it's heavier and will be at the bottom your cup, but (dang how is that called?) colourless fluid which is really easy to wash anyway. apart from that, it depends on the day and your flow. i usually never do since i sincerely hate pads and tampons, but some people may

Having to pay more for period products kind of reminded me of how we (people with glasses) have to PAY to see. Like the heck is that?
Nope...gladly pay for glasses to see. This is for both women and men. Only women bleed without notice. You try bleeding every month for decades without notice. Poor young lady intern where I worked bled onto her chair at work and tried to cover it up with a sweater...I finally realized this and stayed late to switch out her chair with another one. Glad I no longer bleed.
I never thought if that! But yes!! What is that?

Yes! No more urine soaked tampon strings stinking up our underwear!

You made me laugh! Your comment is a great life lesson overall: When in doubt, don't freak out. Read the f*****g instructions. 😊
Here are my tips:
Oops. I didn’t use lube for my first time. It did take forever ....
Another few tips are
1) don't panic, it won't get lost up there
2) for the first few times its helpful to change it in the shower
3) make sure your cervix isn't outside the cup especially if yours is tilted

The first few times I wore mine I was aware of it for the first few hours as well, after that I didn't notice it. It took me about a month to really get the insert process down to around 2 minutes tops. I am happy I tried it. Wearing tampons always gave me anxiety because of toxic shock.

♡on your first time trying it is recommended to wear a pad/pantyliner in case of any leakage
♡there are 9 different methods of folding the cup (at the moment)
♡ recommended to boil for 3-5 mins before use
♡you can rinse it with water or boil it for 3-5 mins after your period ends (recommended way)
♡you can also use a intimate wipe/ tissue if you are in a public setting (if clean water is not available)
♡if you want to test if it is secure, once you insert it, give it a little tug and if it doesn't move it's secure
♡to make insertion easier wet the rim of the cup (or use a lubricant)
♡4 different ways to insert the cup: Standing up, Squatting, Putting one leg up on the toilet or Sitting on the toilet
♡remember to relax before and during inserting
♡you can use your stomach muscles to force the cup down making it easier to grip
♡make sure cup is unfolded after inserting
♡9/10 women use the cup after testing it
♡you can sleep with the cup in
♡reusable so it's wastefree/environmental friendly
♡lasts 3 years or more
♡it might be sore the first few times you insert and remove it
♡two best brands of menstrual cups to use: The Diva Cup and The Organi Cup (most known)
♡recommended to buy with longer stems (they're uncommon to come with short stems either way)
♡if stem is long, cut it a little shorter
♡the menstrual cup only collects (doesn't absorb)
♡depending on the length of your cervix buy the cup with the longer stem or length
♡the average cervix is 6cm long (length)
♡the menstrual cup leaves less bad odours compared to pads or tampons
♡chemicals in pads/tampons aggravate period pains
♡menstrual cups take a while to get used to before 100% leakage proof
♡generally messier and more intimate
♡forgetting to empty/clean it (the vacuum suction only works if you clean it out. Don't forget to unclog the 4 small holes)
♡since it's small it's easier to loose in draws/cupboards
♡make sure to get the right size or it might be painful to insert and may cause leakage

Hi, you mentioned that it’s impossible to get it stuck. How is this??
Just a random Potterhead hello yes, it can’t get lost inside you as there simply isn’t enough space up there for it to disappear. Although it might move positions to be higher up.
Edit: if you try to get it out and it can’t be found it’s not stuck it’s just further up where u cant reach it, this is why it’s important to measure your curvix so you can get the right cup for you.

Women should do a protest were all of them let their period out, like don't wear tampons, pads, anything. And go to their normal life to see what they think about seeing blood in public transport, etc etc
I think a movement like that would be really humiliating because of how people would respond. Just seeing blood on the public toilet seat is nasty to a lot of people - in public, women would be shunned and if it got bad enough i can imagine men "inspecting" girls to make sure they have a tampon/pad/cup

what's bizarre to me is that people forget to take out their tampons/cups when they're on their period!!!
also i've only ever used a tampon ONCE and that was a few weeks ago and it was extremely scary lol but i would definitely love to try out the cup :0 thank u :)
RIGHT?????? When i use tampons, i can't stop thinking about it for a minute
