I've been playing a SpongeBob meme build with the stun baton and bubble blower, and i was shocked when i actually beat close-to-meta builds with it (dual zimmermans are definitely slight off-meta now imo since zimmy+melee is clearly better). People don't realize how short the cooldown is and just kinda act like you have a pulse blade, and they get punished for it constantly by staying in range for too long. You'd be amazed at how many free staggers you'll get because people don't know how your weapon works. I'd still never even think about taking it over pulse blade since you don't get the godlike tracking and melee cancels but it's plenty usable. Bubble gun has to be one of the worst possible choices but the stun baton managed to cover for it decently even playing a double role as my main impact weapon.
Interesting video. The Stun Baton is an uncommon choice as a melee finisher weapon, but there's good logic to it. I tried it out myself previously, but attempting to use the Charged Attack to try and chain staggers. I didn't get great results because I wasn't able to hit the charged attack consistently enough to my liking. This strategy of using the long melee combo to synergize with the Huxleys looks like a good one! It seems like it might be more consistent/easier to pull off than something like a Pilebunker finisher.
The quick cool down on the Baton is the best part, charge attack and maintain pressure, once he blow and get stunned uou will gave the time to cross the gap, shoot and even combo with the Baton. I think it is my favorite melee weapon but do have a soft spot for the chainsaw as well.
If you want a long combo then just use the twinblade. It does loads more damage and has a longer combo. Or the dagger that has a slightly shorter combo but also does more damage and has a very potent charged attack that is good even from neutral. There's unfortunately no reason to use the stun baton for that. The one thing it can do is the chain stunlocking like you mentioned. It is subpar for everything else.
I'm so glad its getting some love. I cant get enough of the Stun Baton. I've found several different combinations that work pretty well with it. The cooling time allows for it to be used in a variety of ways with almost no margin to be punished. The charged attack rivals the Pile for damage and stagger. Love it! 😊
People call it meme stick, but i also beg to differ. Considering the elec proc plus the respectable direct hit adj., it really punishes hard. The stun proc also gives you another punish chance
I really like this build, but I prefer it with the viento (needle pistol) instead of the Zimmerman. It takes about the same time to empty as the baton takes to cooldown and the viento reloads before the melee attack animation ends allowing the viento to be dumped into them at close range. Charge attack with baton, empty the pistol, melee combo when stance breaks.
I like stun baton a lot, but I feel in pvp depending on what you want out of your melee weapon there's pretty much always something else better. In PvE it's hilarious though, because you can lock some enemies in 0-death combos if you toss it in with a fist and pilebunker on shoulder, most notably, Ibis CEL.
Honestly, Swinburne was onto something with whatever the hell he was using. Weird combination of utility in his AC, but he's a Vesper so he cam do whatever he wants I guess. Stun baton is the cherry on top. I'm trying to get better with his wacky preset in ranked
It's hilarious. I've been labbing with this and needle missile launchers, and if you slightly delay the thrust, the electricity burst happens right as their ACS strain refreshes, meaning another quick ACS strain break
The baton isn't shit unless you're trying to proc electric discharge. You can do the same thing with the dagger and be more effective since it flat out does more damage. You won your pvp matches but it wasn't because of the baton 🤷
If you're using it exclusively against a staggered enemy, then wouldn't the pilebunker be just as effective? Why not also make use of the stun baton's really fast cooldown?
At that point might as well use the Dagger which does more damage and has a charged attack with really long range and AoE. Does more damage on stagger too and has a shorter cooldown.
Problem is every use that you had for the stun baton here would have been much better served with a Laser Slicer, or a Pilebunker. It's a fun weapon but the way they implemented it, is anemic. It should do a ton of stagger damage for one thing, thematically, but it doesn't. As a damage weapon, the status effect is just not going to cut it most cases. Honestly what I saw here is that Coral Assault Boost is busted.
100% agree. Stun Baton had very little to do with anything in the video. The one thing that it can do is the chain stunlocking. But that is really hard to pull off and inconsistent. For everything else just use the twinblade or dagger.

are you Kurstag on steam?

I think any left arm melee weapon would wreck in this build. Your gun drones and Zimm is doing the real heavy lifting imo.
I never thought about ending a combo with assault armor, very brutal
very nice build, great to see someone trying out new stuff
great video!

3:40 2 mechs wondering what they can do to each other
Yeah lol that was funny af.
Okay, I might try out the stun baton. Thanks for video.
slept on it and my back hurts

You funny and know well to use enemy weakness exploit I like it!!
And you know your own weakness too that it make fun!
I hope not, doesn't look very comfortable to sleep on

Exactly. The dagger is better than it in every way. Only problem dagger has is the charged attack is useless but you don't need it anyway.

I would love to see a duel between you and Mood using Silver Lining and your build.
Would be quite and interesting joust.
Its not bad, but i prefer laser dagger cause i find it more fun
R u on ps or pc

Stun baton is really neat, too bad it synergizes really poorly with any stun weapon other than the cannon
Using 3 S tier weapons just to promote Stun Baton, isnt convincing.
How can you sleep while getting shocked? THE TITLE MAKES NO SENSE
