Sometimes people as a society are better at being reactive more than they are at being proactive. It's to the point that if we fail to be proactive and have to overcome adversity, it's a story to pass down the generations. However, if we are proactive and everything continues smoothly, we think there was nothing to worry about in the first place and that it was always going to be fine. It can be a frustrating social phenomena but it's important to be aware of it so we can avoid it within ourselves and others.
There is no glory in prevention.

fun fact: shadow the hedgehog was originally going to have a teen rating (which would come with more "damn"s , more "hell"s and having maria's death actually shown instead of cutting to white) but then esrb released their E 10+ rating while they were making the game so they decided to tone it down to get that rating so more people would buy it

The Kirby game featured in that image, Kirby 64, originally had an E rating upon release, probably because the ESRB didn't bother to play to the true final boss which spews blood when you hit it. It was updated to E10+ with the release of Kirby's Dream Collection, but then later updated to be T for some reason.

Cringe is dead. Fandoms are great, sometimes they are the best part of shows/books/music, to get to share and imagine with people all over the world. To be moved my someone's creation so deeply that the mere mention of it makes you excited.
The only real cringe content is content farms like this where 10 year olds are shown a collection of fast paced posts with little to no commentary and who are then convinced that this isn't brainrot.

Can confirm that emotional, but also physical, distress can cause cardiac issues. Im in my mid 30's, have no cardio risks, & the distressed of being gaslit & having excessive chronic pain due to undertreatment of pain (most of which are due to conditions developed because my Drs told me NSAIDs & corticosteroids were "safer than opioids" I was on for 3 yrs without side effects). Only a couple months after telling my Drs I was concerned about cardio/stroke risks since my chronic pain/stress was so high, I had a "widows maker" heart attack (12% survival) that I likely survived because my esa cat realized something was wrong & refused to let me sleep the 3 early morning hrs until the heart ATTACK became the stereotypical symptoms. If a Dr tells you that you won't die from pain, they are wrong/liars.
I wouldn't be surprised knowing that if you got anxiety or panic attacks, that "sinkhole feeling" inside your tummy is all of your muscles and blood vessels preparing itself for Flight or Fight situation.
All of that would definitely strain your body more than people that's calm and collected, felt loved and secure.

The reason Shadow's game was E10+ is because the gun use, death, language, and even gore in the game were going to give it a teen and up rating, but the death and gore (yes, from Maria's death flashbacks) were reduced to just a gunshot sound, blurry still image, and a dramatic slo-mo of her falling over, with no blood. As for the language, it was going to consist of stronger cursing, but was also toned down just to "damn" and the occasional "hell".

I'm very confused by the "look up dyscalculia" response to the person who had no intuition of common units. I also have zero intuition for any units of length or weight or temperature, and I've always been a natural at math. I learned algebra very easily in fourth grade. I can look at a bunch of objects and pretty easily make relative comparisons even at varying distances and angles: "this stick is about as long as that lampshade is wide", "the back cushion of the couch is about 50% longer than the seat cushion", "you can fit about 7 of that desk end to end across the room", etc. But none of that amounts to the ability to look at a distance and say "30 [unit]s" or the ability to imagine a 1-[unit] object. It's completely different.
They aren't too violent or anything but if the atmosphere of Kirby was anything like the final levels of games, especially recent ones like Forgotten Land, I think they'd be significantly higher but I don't think that would bump them up.

I always had a headcanon that EmKay either looked like MatPat or just _was_ MatPat, and I will never quite be the same after seeing his face in this video. He always sounded the same to me and I genuinely couldn't tell the two apart based on voice alone. I never liked the theory videos he made after seeing his theory on Willy Wonka and all of the crimes he committed since it ruined the childhood image I had of the whimsical man, so I had inwardly believed that this was one redeeming thing that MatPat did that he just never publicly linked with his main content, and I don't know if I love that this is a separate guy since I no longer link him to such a bad taste in my mouth or to feel bad since I enjoyed MatPat for years and I almost let EmKay's content redeem the one thing that absolutely ruined all of MatPat's content for me.
As someone who has been on Tumblr since before the porn ban and has stayed ever since, I wear my brain damage with pride. There will never be another website like tumblr, and frankly I don't think anyone would want to be like tumblr.

Oh yeah, I remembered yesterday that I used to be obsessed with Jerom/Jerommeke from the Suske en Wiske comic books.
I remembered because I asked a friend about which Splatoon 3 Salmon Run boss (not including the King Salmonids) they would befriend and why.
I picked Steelhead and Big Shot. I mentioned how Big Shot would have good friend potential because they won’t attack you directly if you approach them. Which reminded me of Jerom, who is also as strong as a Steelhead and as kind as a Big Shot.
In hindsight that obsession was definitely because I wanted to BE him when I grow up. It’s a miracle that my parents didn’t figure that out before I did years later.

I've never had an art history class, but I'm currently working as my former art teacher's assistant and she's gonna start teaching art history soon. She wanted a timeline on the wall and had me look up pictures of important artworks from a list.
When I got to gothic architechture and looked up cathedral after cathedral, I noticed a reccurring feature that looked very climbable, and I fell in love. Several wikipedia articles later I was obsessed with flying buttresses for a few days
when i first heard that term i thought it was "flying buttrest" like some sort of hover chair or something
