    Nice that you are showing the little guy some love and attention. I have found that if you show more attention to one Land Rover, the others tend to get jealous and act up out of spite. Your comments on going up hill with the front only lifted made me laugh. Well done!

      Absolute mare on the rear. The fronts were really easy though. I did them all without any help though so with a bit of assistance I'm sure the rears would be just as easy. Top tip though, when you pull the wheel arch liners off do not forget to plug the sensors back in before you put everything back together like I did. Else your dash will light up like a Christmas tree!

    A fairly skilled job I think..maybe a bit brave for most DIY fitters and that spring strut would always worry me but a helpful and interesting video...I think I would stay on the smaller rocks and beginners mud!! 😃😃😃😃Richard.😎😎😎😎

      @@L663 Good luck Simon...these are complicated jobs for any home mechanic. For liability reasons I think I would let the inventor sell them himself...I don’t think you were planning to list them anyway but again, be careful and work safely.🤞🏼🤞🏼😱😱😨😃😃😃😃Richard

    Hi Simon watched your video of lifting the Freeland 2 with interest, But I would like to know if you have plans to lift the Defender as there is a 2", 4" and 6" lift kits available allowing you to put 35" tires on 18" Rims.
    Also when will you install a Ladder on the Defender with the Molle Plates on and hopefully at least on Jerry Can holder next to it as well.
    Have a great day and keep those videos coming I love them

  • @ianbeale2527
    @ianbeale2527 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Excellent. Sadly mine took a good while longer due to changing all the shocks too. Had a very slight misting of oil from the nsr shock but decided as the lift was going on, it would be prudent to change all four at the same time, rather than having to take them out again at a later date.

    I'd be dubious lifting any car with cv joints, know on the Toyota Surf/front runner, when you lift the suspension it puts the front drive shafts outside their comfortable operating range, leading to bad cv gaiter and joint wear, there are 2 cures, one is to space the Diff down to flatten the shaft angle and the other is freewheeling hubs so the shafts are stationary unless in 4wd. This mod will also change track rod angle so you're best to have the tracking checked., on the Toyota it only affected the front as the rear was a live axle, your freelander drive shafts will be affected front and back.

    • @L663
      @L663  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes you are correct... and this is a big area of discussion... for example 40mm lift with caravan / full load may actually put the driveshafts back in line...

    i have lr2 2007 i6 Volvo engine 18 inch tires, can i increase the Hight at the same time it will not effect the balance of the car

    • @L663
      @L663  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is of course some reduction in handling / cornering ability but it not noticable unless you are prone to street racing !

    I want to order these spacers for my 2009 LR2 and have them shipped to US. Will they fit an LR2? I was told Freelander and LR2 would be different?

    • @L663
      @L663  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe the LR2 and Freelander 2 to be the same for the suspension

  • @JonathanFunkhouseMonkhouse
    @JonathanFunkhouseMonkhouse 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Doesn’t seem much of a lift. Does it make much of a difference?

  • @richardhunt1384

    Presumably the spacers haven't put the CV Joints at too much of an angle now??

    • @L663
      @L663  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes i need to cover the changes / downsides etc and CV wear could be one of the drawbacks

    You really need to roll the car back and forward to level the suspension out so the tyres can move outwards just jumping on the bumper won't do a lot,
