    Perfect illustration of the process. Especially putting the bobbin in the housing first. I actually ruined a bobbin trying to do it by hand. Your method was so easy. Thanks.

    Excellent. 👍 Well done Sir. Exactly what I needed and with the same circumstance regards to the bobbin. Excellent tip for reinstalling the bobbin. Your production better than the manufacturer’s “how to”
    Thank you kindly. A great service!

    Excellent job. Thanks for showing the process so clearly and explaining every step. I'm now ready to fall in the water, LOL.

    Awesome explanation. I tried the first time and blew the thing up again. Good to see the shortcut of dropping the yellow disk in the housing. That is what screwed me up last time. I appreciate your time.

    Mine just fired by itself, too. I thought a battery in my boat exploded. Great video, thanks a ton!

    Thank you for this video. I tried to arm my new Onyx vest BEFORE I watched any videos and set it off. It worked this time.

    Thank you, I was looking at the bobbin thinking theres an up or down here and I already had it apart without paying attention. But if upside-down then the automatic feature wouldn't function??? Pull handle only??? I use mine kayaking and popped it getting out of the boat... tipped over. They work perfectly FYI, damn thing scared me more than the dunk🤣. But, if im to continue kayaking I see this is the wrong life preserver. Getting wet is actually part of it im discovering. Barrel rolling a kayak as it turns out is an accomplished kayaker and the kayaker terrified to tip over is a rescue situation waiting to happen. So if it can be rigged for manual deployment by inserting the bobbin upside-down may not be as useful for safety. But might be more ideal where im getting wet on purpose? At least until I buy a better suited life preserver for paddling. Thanks for the video.

    Could have used this last night, had to figure out resetting the green indicator by guess and by gosh.

    How do you remove bayonet from cylinder? I bought one and mine jacket won’t take the bayonet so I need it removed. Hopefully making some sense!

    How much do you tighten down the cylinder? Up to, but not pierced? Looks like you cranked it down and did pierce

      @@larrymarek9571 hand tight. Don't pierce. You'll know real quick if you do.

      @@TheWeekendAngler That's what got me into this in the first place. I was putting the vest in the car when the cylinder just fell out. When I screwed it back in, it pierced and inflated the vest... don't think I cranked it all that hard. So just snug?

    does it work if we don't replace the bobbin?

    • @TheWeekendAngler
      @TheWeekendAngler  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Most kits come with a replacement bobbin, and that is the dissolving component that makes the vest automatically inflate. I would replace the bobbin for safety reasons.

    Does one convert from automatic to manual, simply by removing the dissolving bobbin? (eg rearming on the water)

    • @TheWeekendAngler
      @TheWeekendAngler  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It has been a while since I used this pfd, but if I remember correctly, the dissolvable bobbin keeps the needle from activating the inflator. If you installed this without a bobbin, it would likely inflate as soon as you tightened the co2 canister.
