Hi is there an advantage fighting the fish in knee deep water or from much more above to land that fish

It's better to fight fish from higher up as this gives you some leverage from your line scrapping on the sand or rocks but it's mainly to avoid your line scrapping on sand banks

My main reason is to get my leader knot inside my spool jeeten. Once I have that in I can put more pressure on pulling in the fish. Thank you for your question
