I think some insurance companies write a car off far too easily these days. I had an accident in a corsa years ago and it was absolutely splatted in my opinion but my insurance repaired it and it was mever put it on the register! It's not only cat cars that are hiding something!

Absolutely Amazing how the Fiesta was up for sale in December 2020 with 64K Miles on the clock for £3695. It passed its MOT after this totally advisory free.
Looking at the previous MOT,s the only thing that would put me off was the bonnet catch sticking long before any reported accident damage, I would imagine it's had a bumped bonnet at some point.
I really don't have a problem buying a car that's been involved in a crash provided its repaired properly.

There’s so much that can be done to a taxi. Iv seen them used as a Photo Booth before so camera will be on the bulkhead with computer and a touch screen. It’s great for weddings, which happens to be very big in south west. Probably sell it as is for someone to convert it to their needs as opposed to converting it yourself and limiting your market. However the camper idea is very good that will probably get you the most money for it. But it will need doing asap ready for summer and will command most money then.

@@ChopsGarage yes bud, my son wrote his mito off twice, we bought the salvage back twice(!) twice I repaired it, same accident, wing, leg, hub and door, 1st time a decent valuation, next time the other guys company were St on the fact it was cat N, knocking a load off, anyway argued it and got a reasonable price, hopefully with autos being so sought-after you should be OK, your mate could do with a long test drive as Ford autos are a nightmare. I'm going to be painting a micra auto next week.

@@ChopsGarage yes bud, I don't bother with buying salvage now, take that freeloader court case if that had been a cat car, even if I'd have told her I bet it would have gone even more against me, there's been a case recently where a trader on a cheapie Peugeot lost in county court, then trading standards took him to criminal court, his fines and compensation came to about 6k,its a dodgy game these days, back in the day salvage was great, no one knew about anything, that's more or less all we did tbh.

Why is the road tax so expensive? Is it purely because of emissions or is it because it’s classed as a trade vehicle?
Also, is the SAABs roof supposed to be that slow, or is it because the battery has low voltage or not up to it?

£3495 for the taxi? (Checks dates) 1st April. Hmmm. No thanks. (you do know the PCO “retires” all black cabs when they are 15 years old?). Hope you’re not in this for too much.

Not what relevance of them retiring the cabs is. Have we not learned yet, everytime I am told I won't get what I ask for a car I do, every single time!

My mistake. It’s 12 years. But as the obvious buyer for a taxi is a taxi driver then the fact it’s too old for who it’s designed for seems pretty relevant to me. Perhaps you could message Stephen Fry he famously drove a black cab he would give you a decent offer!
