It's a shame it doesn't include Frank spitting on Bonnie's face after she gave him a wet one on his mustached lips. Talk about payback? Now THAT'S epic !!!!
This made up scene cost the studio and production company a big loss $$$ in a civil suit and rightfully so. The real life retired Texas Ranger Captain Frank Hammer as a older man came out if retirement to hunt Bonnie & Clyde down like the mad dog killers that they were and put them down. Boom -- Frank Hammer was a bad ass man !
Yes, out of court settlement for defamation, but probably not big $$$ for the studio Certainly they made much more with the movie than they paid out in the lawsuit. Bonnie and clyde did kidnap a police officer and let him go, but it wasn't Frank Hamer. It's a problem when movies do historical characters.
@@tomanderson1942if I’m not mistaken even back in these days it was common for productions to be insured for those kinds of lawsuits…maybe I’m wrong but I know for sure on modern pictures there are insurance policies for all kinds of things from accidents to libel / slander / defamation.
Funny how movies and reality don’t always align. movie Bonnie and Clyde: cute couple Reality: murderers and thieves Movie Frank: loser Reality: Badass retired ranger who came out of retirement… and ended these murderers like the killers they were.
@@catherinefan32 Highwaymen took some liberties with Hamer to “doll him up” too, just not NEARLY as bad as the 1967 B&C movie did with the Barrow gang. One glaring thing in the 2019 film was him stepping out in the road and ordering Bonnie and Clyde to surrender, even making eye contact before the shooting starts. In reality about the only thing all present agree completely on was that there was no order to stop / surrender yelled, spoken or whispered…..not that there should have been. By that point it was take them out quick and leave no opportunity for the barrow gang to escape or cause further loss of life or injury to others. Obviously with the movie being shot in 2018/19 they had to add Hamer attempting an arrest to add sympathy for the film’s version of him. Overall it was far more accurate than the 67’ movie though, not that that’s much of a stretch lol.
Get the Kodak!
Lol this was a funny scene!

I don’t blame Frank’s widow and son for suing Warner Bros.
it's humiliating & disturbing
Fact. Hollywood nor Warren care about Hamner nor victims. Movie is Hollywood Royalty.
@@raafat_reema Good. Hamner was a cold blooded bounty hunter. Nothing more.
Warren made his reputation on this film.
@@GregWatson-wb8yd a cold blooded bounty hunter that put down two mad dogs.
Hamers family sued and won
Uncle Jesse is far away from Hazard County
Warren didnt give a rats ass about Hamer, onscreen and off!

Wasn't big loss. Warren doesn't care about Hammers legacy. Neither do Hollywood.

It's sad these hippies portrayed Frank as a simpleton. That's why I urge people to see the movie highwaymen
It’s really no wonder why Frank’s widowed wife and son sued Warner bros for this movie
