Hi Andy, a new to the guitar 65 yr old fella, ive been watching and learning from you and have just ordered your beginners book, I think you are amazing and so easy to follow. Many thanks hon. Kind regards (with sore fingers) Gary.
Hello Gary. I also started at 65 (soon to be 66) I also have very sore fingers. My "first" "beginner" guitar was a Yamaha FG830. I had some action work along with thinner strings (why call them strings, they feel like steel cables to me) done. When I upgrade (soon) I will stay with Yamaha.
Hi Im a 62 year old learner also, been teaching myself for 6 months, good on ya Mate, its a great feeling to finally follow a dream and this young Man is a great teacher to help along the way. Best wishes from New Zealand
Dusted out my daughter’s guitar, and trying to learn a simple song during the lock down at home during this Covid-19 virus pandemic. April 2020. Thank you Andy.
i'm a 51 Year old total novice. all the gear and no idea. i love your lessons @Andy Guitar. you break it all down so well that even i can follow along. thanks👍
Neil Diamond fanatic here. Sweet Caroline was the first song I wanted to learn on my new acoustic guitar. Thanks for this video. Still learning to fret the chords correctly as well as changing chords quickly enough, but I'm proud of my accomplishment after only three weeks.
Well, at 71 years young, I've decided to try and learn "a bit of guitar" (let's face it, I'm not going to get good enough to pack the O2 Arena, am I?). I should have done this way back in the 60's (not my 60's, the era way back in the last century!!). Anyway, I can't read music, so needed something simple to get me started and, let's face it, there's a lot out there on TH-cam - BUT, I find Andy to be the ideal tutor - easy to understand and, which is good for me, not to theoretically technical. Thanks Andy, I'll be sticking with you ;-)
Neil Diamond EAD songs should be a must for every beginner. Do not sweat the GCD (the C stretch) just yet. Have fun with these EAD songs but be sure to include some GCD practice while you are developing. Beginners get stressed out making the C chord stretch and get discouraged.
Very helpful! Not many people break it down and make it as easy as you. Your song choices are great as well. Gotta love the classics. I love how you show the strumming patterns. Most videos don't tell you the strumming pattern, which leaves me confused. You are an amazing teacher!
I jumped to this 2nd level and almost kept up .Thanks for your singing and calling out the chords. No one else bothers . I have been searching for what to buy for a written lesson book and think I have found your book and DVD. I really had fun on this one! Thanks. Johnny Cash fan here in San Diego.
Thanks Andy. I love love love your tutorials and this specific song. Thanks so much for making me feel good playing on my guitar as a beginner. Never would I ever thought that learning the guitar could be so enjoyable. Greetz from Germany!
Hi Andy ..after seeing and learning from this vedio I am feeling proud of myself that I am able to play some.. you're an amazing person Andy ,one without O score can grab at fast to learn ...love you 😘😘
The easiest and most effective lesson I've ever come across. Thank you and I'll be following you. Beginner, but with the first 3 chords I accompanied ABBAs I Had a Dream.
I've had just 3 in-person lessons...she started with the same chords as you. I LOVE your style and teaching method-, and checked out your website and lessons. I was feeling confident and checked out some beginner song videos--you break everything down perfectly for this newbie. I'm going to see my teacher tomorrow and "wow" her with this. Thank you...
I’m an American and this British dude in the video is the first person I’ve ever heard refer to a Bridge as a “pre-chorus”. I’ve legitimately never heard that phrase before. It’s always been a bridge.
I have never touched a guitar and then decided to try this and I completely sucked not gonna lie but if I understand this guitar thingy and able to play this song i would be so happy 😫
Thanks for being a fan!! I just wanna appreciate you in particular for being a fan and you should keep supporting me it brings me so much joy that I'm able to put smiles on your faces and hearts.💋🌺

Hey. You are becoming my new hero😁 I have just got my first ever guitar at 44 years old and I can't stop watching your tutorials. They are so easy to follow and understand. THANKS and well done
It is so great to learn with you. You give me wings to continue my music learning! You have a wonderful talent to make it look easier to us. Thanks for sharing you passion and your great knowledge ....
Thanks Andy, your lessons are easy to follow. I watch your videos even when am not practicing. I started 3 weeks ago and my friends think I am a natural and I recommend you always.
Your videos are so intuitive which makes me pick up the guitar and keep practicing. Only beginning, however feel like I'm progressing nice thanks to your input. Recommending you all the time. Thanks a mill!
While we do use prechorus in the US, it's normally something that's different from the bridge. And while we do commonly use the term "bridge", it's often interchanged with "interlude".
thank you so much for this video! i was able to learn the whole song within this video despite never playing before... really reflects an amazing teacher! thanks!
hi Andy i always liked your style, but I'm liking you more now, I alway love guitar even though I'm not very good, but I get enjoyment out of it. and you can take this from 73 old man
You are the best Andy, guitar was intimidating and hard to stick with at first. But when i found your videos it made everything so much easier and fun. Can't put down my guitar now haha.
understanding the beat of a song is so important. Go super slow if that what it takes playing until you "get it" too many students do not get that.Even if you have to play the song 500 times it will eventually click for you, then much quicker for other songs.
Really good tutorial thanks Andy. My only problem is trying to play the A6 chord and squeezing 4 fingers into the second fret. Just can't get it to sound clean and the little finger doesn't seem happy being there! Any tips? I know, just keep practicing right?
Andy Ive been enjoying your lessons but I bounce around a lot lol anyhow is there anywhere in your site that tells what notes and chords belong in each Key?Thanks Keith
Great tutorial, thanks Andy. I believe that it'd be greatly beneficial to check out your beginner's guidebook, is there an e-book version? I practice these lessons at my standing desk 😃
@Andy Guitar, thank you for all the lessons, once I get rich I will send you money just because you are awesome! :D. I started following you last year, now revisiting all beginner lessons and can see significant improvement in my skills! A huge thank you from Estonia :) keep up the good work, looking forward to learn more songs with you!
I borrowed my daughter’s Martin to learn guitar in lockdown. I played this to her this morning to show off. She said, "Dad, my poor guitar, you’re shitting all over it’. More practice required, I think.
Well done to the Lionesses, England Women's football team for winning the Euros!
Now,we wait for the world cup.23. Then we can all play sweet caroline

The lyrics are "seemed so good". We call it the bridge here in the states but I have noticed more people calling it a pre chorus. Sounding good Andy.
You are personable musician and an excellent teacher!! Bravo! I will be visiting your website!

Nice lesson! I'm teaching this song to my students, too, and you've given me some good ideas. Thanks!
I like to squeeze in a D chord right before I start the chorus in A. And another one in the middle of the chorus.
I had actually come back here today to seek out your comment from many months ago.
Really good tutorial thanks Andy. My only problem is trying to play the A6 chord and squeezing 4 fingers into the second fret.
Just can't get it to sound clean and the little finger doesn't seem happy being there! Any tips? I know, just keep practicing right?
I like that you sing along with it so I can match cord changes with words
