which any Challenger V8 owner should be doing.

the stock exhaust is 2.75 inches. This kit is 3.00 in. So its diameter is bigger on the piping, the mufflers have less fins on the inside (less restrictive), adds power and sounds louder...but other then that, yup its exactly the same. lol

They're not going out without a fight, from what I can tell. Most performance cars prefer the manual because of the control you get.

    From wikipedia
    6.1 Hemi Applications:
The Hemi is also available in a 6,059 cc (6.059 L; 369.7 cu in) version.[8] The engine's bore is 4.055 in (103 mm), and many other changes were made to allow it to produce 425 horsepower (317 kW) at 6200 rpm and 420 lb·ft (569 N·m) at 4800 rpm.

Why do people ask if it's a 6.1 or a 6.4 when they CLEARLY say 6.1 in the video? Geez. All the engines a challenger has are 3.6, 5.7, 6.1, and the new 392 6.4. Both 6.1 and 6.4 are the SRT8 models.

I never thought I'd say it, but the aftermarket alternative might be too much of a good thing.
The sheer volume of the custom exhaust would probably induce fatigue on a long trip.

I get compliments all the time about my exhaust. I went with Flowmaster Super 44's with Large Dual Round outlets. A little bit of drone at 2,000 RPM but not too bad. In 6th gear on the highway it is low and rumbly. Under heavy foot it screams

It's weird that it seems like it varies by car. I have a 2009 Dodge Ram 5.7 with Flowmaster and that thing sounds like a monster when you throw down the gas. It's 30x better than the sound the 6.1 left. But some of the new just seem to be muffled.

Not sure. The stock might still be better for long term use. The noise could be fatiguing on a long drive. It's not the same as listening to a 60 second clip.

  • @MetalCross
    @MetalCross 12 ปีที่แล้ว

A follow up with long tube headers AND the Flowmaster cat-back setup would be great. Of course, a dyno pull should ALWAYS be included with any sort of performance enhancement and rather than us just taking your word for it, you should have decibel readings. I didn't find this episode very helpful or useful.

    Why would you say that?
Automatic transmissions have always had an advantage at the drag strip. There's a reason that most cars built for drag racing have automatic transmissions.
Plus, automatic transmissions have become so advanced that sticks are just becoming obsolete...unless you just prefer rowing everywhere you go.

  • @movietrailertrash

I've spoken with the guys at Chrysler about the auto vs manual. Really at the end of the day the auto is always faster. You just can't shift as fast as the auto by hand. I've driven the auto Challenger srt8, the Jeep srt8 auto, and own a manual Challenger srt8. Either way you look at it the auto always shifts faster. Where the manual really shines is at the track but some disagree and point out that the sport mode in auto is just as good. Personal preference I suppose. Great cars either way tho.

Tips look a little strange, they look he end of silencers on guns except in a rectangular format rather than cylindrical. Plus, maybe it's just me, but the end result in the Flowermaster only makes it louder, with a raspy de-rev. I'd rather change the headers and exhaust to just make the natural engine sound more "mean".

you will never find a full-auto system on a race track.

Auto transmissions have been consistently faster for the past 10 or so years now. Hence why a majority of the top fastest laps are done by automatics or tiptronic systems.
