- Join us on the Avalon Waterways Panorama for our first ever river cruise! We joined Avalon Panorama in Amsterdam and spent 7 nights making our way down to Basel on a Romantic Rhine river cruise.
In this episode we have a lovely breakfast onboard Avalon Panorama before heading on our first excursion of the cruise, a complimentary Canal Cruise of Amsterdam.
Were back onboard Avalon Waterways Panorama for lunch and then make our way to our next port of call, Cologne.

We are bananas about cruising! We started cruising in 2014 by doing a mini cruise on P&O Aurora. That is such an amazing tour with the clear windows on the boat where you can see everything! I would love to go to Amsterdam one day. Dining seems so civilized on board and such beautiful scenery

We totally understand what you mean about flight costs. It costs us the same as the cruise when we fly to the Caribbean, we’ve even considered transatlantic Caribbean cruises just to get better value for money. 😅

Going on this river cruise and I can’t wait, thank you for your videos they’ve helped ease my fear of dinner time I was dreading the fancy pants food that I’d be asking what it is and god knows what fork to use

I'm enjoying your River Cruise videos. We head off on that same cruise this September so its good to see what your tour involves. Those waffles you have in the back lounge I thought were dutch, we have them here in NZ supermarkets too, they are delicious. Was there many people on board? What time of the year is it? Ohhhh have a fabulous time, it’s such a relaxing cruise! Yes, they are stroopwaffles, but we have a place that makes them locally 🤤
On this ship there were around 110, so not full but even full it wouldn’t feel busy. This was October, it was the ships final river cruise before the 6 winter break before they restarted for Christmas.
We have done the canal tour twice at night with lots of food and wine a wonderful trip
We absolutely love it! It’s great just sitting back and taking in all of the sights, lazy but ah well, saves your feet I guess! We really enjoy it! Amsterdam really is a pretty place.
