- Join us on the Avalon Waterways Panorama for our first ever river cruise! We joined Avalon Panorama in Amsterdam and spent 7 nights making our way down to Basel on a Romantic Rhine river cruise.
Todays port of call was Breisach, our final port of call before we head to the end of our cruise in Basel.
In today's port we chose to visit a local winery, where we learnt about German winemaking and enjoyed a wine tasting.

We are bananas about cruising! We started cruising in 2014 by doing a mini cruise on P&O Aurora. @@CruiseMonkeys Just booked a repositioning cruise today on Celebrity from Boston to Miami with some fun stops!!! Solo!!!! LOL. Not sure what I was thinking but I am sure I will have fun and meet all kinds of cool people and Cruise Monkey's fans!!!
Love watching you go through the locks. I am still hoping on one of your "rest" days in Wales, you will cruise on one of those canal boats and take us through the locks and onto the pub for refreshments. I know there are no bumper cars or water slides, but for us in the States, the UK waterways are a treat. Maybe invite your mums or grans.
All our rest days are spent cruising hahaha, but it does sound wonderful thing to try one day!

Are you having a post cruise review? I’m very curious as I’m torn between Avalon and Ama for my trip down the Rhine. Avalon does have very impressive room layout and the food looked great too.

Are dry wines available in the locals where the Rhine Cruise stops? Difficulty with the sweet Gewürztraminer
Hard to say, we didn’t drink too much at our stops, when we did it was mostly beers. The red wine on the ship was nice, we don’t drink sweet wine that often and it was to our taste.
The wine tasting was good and there was plenty of choice, we were looking for more of a port but they didn’t have any as such which is why they recommended us the sweet one. It was nice enough though, had it with some cheese and crackers when we got home 👌🏻😉
