the 01 payback against washington was GLORIOUS, had we not lost to them the yr before in that flaky game, it would had been back to back championships....
Thomas Andersen I agree 100%. Reed had so many game saving moments in that season. Including 2 incredible open field TD saving tackles against Kevin Jones in this game. Not many could keep a man of Jones' ability in front of them in open field, but Reed did. Favorite football player of all time. Go Canes!
Hokie here, was at this game -- one of the most awesome and LOUD I can remember. Almost made the 2pt! Think our qb had 6 turnovers too. Good win for the 'Canes.
I’d put this team up against any/every national championship team in NCAA history. We need a video game that gives us these classic teams to play with for real.
How could you possibly say this is the best fb team of all time when it was a close game? Nebraska had no close games in the 95 season they beat every team by 14 points and had no sacks on the QB.
This was the only game from this season that had me worried, only bc VT is always a thorn in our side. After this game I knew we were gonna win it all.
We had plenty of people on this 01 team that should have won the heisman. Reed Vilma Buchanan Dorsey portis johnson. Plus a couple more. They all could have won the heisman but Miami is hated so they never won.
Canefreak 2001: Can you please post the blocked punt that got the score to 26-24? I was at that game, and I swear that was the loudest I've ever heard any stadium ever. Thanks for uploading this classic video!
What a LAME video... how about a new title: "An example of how to take all the drama out of game highlights by only showing one side's great plays". The real story of this game was the #1 team in the nation rushing out to a huge lead, and then the scrappy home team pulling all the way back and save for one dropped 2-point conversion (put between the numbers of VT's receiver) which occurred after a blocked punt for a TD, Miami might've lost this one... But to not show the blocked punt for TD, and then the game-clinching dropped 2-pt conversion, and to then call this "highlights"????? LAME....
But... coming from a poster called "canefreak2001", I suppose "what can one expect?" other than biased story-telling... ah well... makes for boring "highlights" when all the real highlights are missing.
@tarheeltds yeah I was at the game as well. Still haven't heard a stadium louder before or since. Though some people were saying the ending of the Miami/VT game this past week was louder.
So the greatest team of all time was shutout in the first and won a squeeker against a 5 loss, unranked virginia tech team. Virgia tech lost this game, miami didnt win it.
+smwest95 VT ended up with 4 loses, the last two against UM and FSU. Also, VT had one of the top ranked defenses in all of college football. Facts are facts you mediocre Troll.
Osu* 2002 had 5 wins I believe by 7 pts or less. Here are a few of those: 1 to a 7-7 Cincinnati team, 1 to a Wisconsin team that finished 8-6 and 1 to a 7-6 Purdue team. Oh and barely beat 5-7 Illinois. A win is a win.

We do not get to Pasadena without Ed Reed. Saved us in BC and had a great game at Blacksburg. Shows how hard it is to win 12 games in a season

Facts
With ALL Those INTs I'm VERY SHOCKED/SURPRISED That REED was NOT on The HEISMAN List.
agreed! he was the glue to that defense!
Right
Damn that intro gave me chills

Reed finally has a Super Bowl ring. So happy for him.
Surprised Tech wasn't ranked here at 8-2

Miami won the National Championship 37-14

SweeTC2847 I agree. I don't get why it is reserved for offensive players...

thanks for this one man... good memories. Are you going to do the national championship?
the most anticipated game for me. thanks g!
I tell fools (especially Florida hator fans) this all the time. VT always plays Miami with their all. 2024 was nothing new.

This game wasn't pretty but a win is a win
@lowers1987 Yes, i am going to start right now
Why did you not put in Va. Tech's scores? Highlights shows everything that happened. Not just one team.
Ummm the channel is called canefreak. What else were you expecting?
CUZ ITS ALL ABOUT THE U!
No one is stopping you from making a Virginia Tech highlights video go do it:)
@LatinG187 Thanks, yes i have that one lol. ill make highlights of it, but not yet
is this the game where ed reed made his speech? i saw on his interception he looked hurt and i was just wondering.

You're free to make a VT highlight video if you want

What happens if Jones doesn't get hurt? Glad we won
@PlayboiX122 umm I remember right Colin Mccarthy does the exact samething on the field is just a different team man that's all
0:28 to 0:41 shows how much this team has fallen off
Shockey at 2:30 is like ''Idk sorry'' hahaha
@MrChrisf5 Haha np
reed got rocked lmao

Lmmfao at these cornhuskers fans talking shit....Yeah we won a squeeker & that '01 squad would still beat your '95 team by two TD's!! GO CANES!!
USC Fight On!
