    The impact of those 2000-2002 Hurricane squads on the league cannot be understated.
    One of the least talented athletes on the roster was Ken Dorsey, and he went 38-2 as a starting QB in college football, coached Cam Newton into a Pro Bowl/Super Bowl QB, and helped Josh Allen become one of the best QB's in the league as his QB coach.

  • @worrell30
    @worrell30 5 ปีที่แล้ว +62

    As crazy as this team was in terms of recruiting.....all Miami did was stay local to build this team. SO like 80-90% of these guys were from south Florida alone.

    • @sickofguysnamedtodd2293
      @sickofguysnamedtodd2293 3 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      In recruiting they called that winning the state of Miami. Howard Schnellenberger (may he RIP) had a philosophy: draw an imaginary line from I-4 from Daytona Beach to Tampa and declare everything below that the State of Miami. They went after the best players in South Florida, other players from around the state and some elite recruits from around the country. If Miami could lock up all the South Florida kids it would be hard to beat them. Hell the state of Florida itself along with Texas, California and maybe Ohio are the best places to get college football recruits

I was a huge college football fan back then and i used to watch the canes, noles, gators, golden knights, and bulls. Florida has always had the best high school football talent in the country. Back then the rest of the country didn't know it so these kids stayed in state. Now the secret is out and a lot of them end up at ohio state, clemson, Alabama, michigan, etc. But in those days they stayed in state. Now what makes fla a hotbed of high school football talent? This past years tigers will probably be recognized as one of the greatest teams of all time. Just give people time to see what they really did. See, a good bit of that team is still in college. This is a debate that will never have a certain answer. I'm just thankful that 71 and 95 Nebraska is always mentioned in these discussions because there's a shit load of power house football schools that never even get brought up. You always hear about the Huskers, Canes, Trojans, Horns and the Tide. You never hear anything about the Sooners, Wolverines, N-lions, Gators, Ducks, Irish, Buckeyes and others. To be one of the 5 teams always mentioned in this topic is a huge honor.

      Tommie Frazier is the best college player I have ever seen, the 95 team wasnt built like an NFL team so they were never going to have to pro players Miami had. Would love to see the 01 Miami D vs 95 UN offense

      Florida State outscored opponents 723-170 in 2013... Auburn was the only close game all season

      That 2013 FSU team was real good but their '99 team was stoked! That was the best Seminole team of all-time and they validated by holding off superhuman Michael Vick in the Sugar Bowl

      The 1993 team is better than the 99 and 2013 team

      @@cmoneyno5 they ('93) we're good but they lost the one game that truly validated their season to ND, who then turned around a week later and couldn't even beat Boston College on the same home field! '99 completed the entire job!
