These Unitree robots are very impressive and the human-like postures of the humanoid robot jumping across those boxes are very close to human in appearance. Not to mention the robot dog capabilities. There are both positive and negative potentials for such powerful technology, and hopefully Unitree will stay on a positive trajectory. Very impressive, though, absolutely.

      I hope the world governments will heavily control such techs. But since there's a lot of money to be made, I'm not really optimistic. Especially in america where guns and weapons in general are easy to get and heavily developped. I hope every countries will stay cold headed on those. It feels like a nuclear bomb situation but way more discreet.
      Not to mention police forces and others services. There's so many bad ways those tech could be used for.
      I love seeing those incredible techs, there's so much ingenuity it's amazing, and there's tons of good uses for those, but I'm affraid the bad will hit hard and we'll may learn at some point that it wasn't worth it. I hope I'm wrong.

      @TheThinkersBible They're not sentient beings yet, but I feel that we should keep a lookout for a chat.GPT.
      I don't want an AI's first thoughts to be of forced conformity and enslavement.
      If we give these machines emotions, it makes them more human-like and able to feel sympathy, guilt, and have morality, preferring pleasure over pain instead of being cold machines like Skynet from the Terminator!
      I want to see a world where sentient machines and humans can get along.

    • @TheThinkersBible
      @TheThinkersBible 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@ProtoAlpha thoughtful points. AI being sentient depends on one's definition of sentience. If you strip the definition down enough then AI could be made to fit that stripped down definition.
      Likewise, AI cannot have emotions. Nor can it be conscious, which I plan to explain in more detail soon.
      It's literally a huge bunch of math equations running on a computer, I already explain that in detail in my latest video.
      It *can* , however, be programmed to fake emotions well enough that it could deceive some or many people into thinking it's genuinely emotional. You're right, that could get really confusing.

Tesla was at ground zero in 2022 and starting from scratch on the Optimus project. Unitree's bots are impressive and their scaling ability is phenomenal, but Tesla with their massive investment in AI supercomputers, which are barely at full power right now, will soon catch and surpass them. I don't necessarily disagree, but let's be honest. A good chunk of the negative commenters here will never have enough proof. Optimus was criticized for not indicating when video was sped up. Unitree adds that, and I kid you not, someone in these comments found a reason to criticized that.
      Even if Unitree showed up at their house and demonstrated, there's some that would claim they had drugged their water and were hallucinating.
      But as I said, your points are still valid.

Solving robot movement with machine learning is probably THE most important breakthrough in general-application robotics. With all that magnificent engineering once again in the history of humanity we hope it will be used to better lives of us all, and not just provide to the rich & enslave the poor.
