New subscriber. We had our yard sale on Saturday and earned $331 and are so happy. We even sold a bunch of the plastic storage containers so we would not be tempted to re-junk up the garage. I kept hearing your husband say "price it to sell". We took your advice and sold ice cold bottled water and soft drinks for $1 each. Thanks for your videos.

We just closed on our home over a month ago and we went with 30 versus the 15 years. My husband is self employed, so on paper the 30 yrs made sense to us financially. The way we have our budget set up, we will be paying extra on the principle each month and should have it paid off in 16 1/2 years or sooner.

I have participated in my mother's church yard sale for the past 6 years and without fail handbags have been my #1 best seller, followed by home decor/entertainment items and shoes. The patrons have come to know our booth and look for us every year...we were voted best booth several years. One year I sold most all my items as I was unloading my truck. There was a lady standing there just taking things as we unloaded.

+Veri Keri I would be just like that lady was standing in line ready to buy your items too! I love your style and taste. Yes, purses do sell very well. I've had great success in the past selling my handbags. Thanks so much for sharing!

Agree purses are hot, if they are nicer ones. But I have sold a couple of Antique ones. Some people love this stuff.

Thank you for your video!! Prepping a huge yard sale this upcoming weekend. I usually would prep a day before, and would look at items in the garage to sell the day of while my sister had items out for sale but this time around I am prepping. It's been a huge process because I had to purge a lot of things that were just stored in boxes in the garage-taking up to much space, I had to donate a lot (I could of use those items to sell, but in my situation I had to clear space to organize my garage) it has lifted a huge weight off my shoulders. I have more clarity on the things that I left to the end to sale (have room for it now) and this video made me realize other items I could sell from areas that need purging (such as the bathroom). What I did find from previous yard sales that I had in the past, are good yard sale signs. One of the reasons we did so well was because we made our signs unique and they were placed in proper places to get people to our home. We would use the same color arrows that were placed on the sign in the corner streets, and decorated the signs (cleanly) so they stand out differently than the regular sale signs. We would bubble in the letters, use tassel like paper at the bottom. There are usually other sales in our neighborhood, so it's important to keep your signs consistent in color and have them be unique. We would get compliments on our signs in how good they were and they would say we were easy to find because of it, people would find other yard sales along the way without missing ours. I would recommend this especially, is taking time to create good and unique yard sale signs and taking the time to prep! Every living situation is different. In my case, I had a lot of things that I did not use that were taking up space and it was extremely overwhelming, that is why I donated to clear space. Never forget to get those donation slips and take a photo of the overall haul your taking for tax purposes. :D Thank you for your video! I am so glad I found you two! Subscribed!! Can't wait to see your other videos! I'm on a debt free journey myself and this particular yard sale is going towards our home repair savings! Thank you for what you do-so inspiring!

Whenever I put any sort of furniture out it sells so quickly. Any shelves and end tables always get us quite a bit of money. Clothes, books and toys always sell well too. When we had our last garage sale someone asked if we had any flower pots and the previous owner had left a bunch in the back she's so tee lady ended up emptying the whole shed and giving me money for them which was awesome because we were just going to take then to the dump.

I've learned that ice/pop coolers sell great. In good condition, the small type sell for $4, the bigger ones sell up to $15. I pick them up at other sales and auctions. I can't keep them around. We have up to 20 garage sales a year.

Children's socks were a "hot" item at my sales - Nike, Adidas. I sold unopened Proactive Solution starter kits - they went nuts over that even with expiration dates exceeded. I had a bottle of perfume stolen from me at one of my sales, a lady took out the bottle from the box and left the box. Keep small items like jewelry and perfume very close to where you will be sitting.

Yes, I work for someone who does Estate Sales, a man was there that had at least 30 dollars worth or better, says you should just give this to me for free it is used. I won't pay more than 5 dollars . She gave a better than usual price for it all or part of it, he continued to tell her 5 dolla, no more, 5 dolla or free. I not buy more than 5 dolla. He ended up leaving, because she would not take 5 dollars for over 30 dollars worth of items. Just ignorant.

The rule of thumb for excellent condition furniture is 15% of retail. So, I would price each at $30 or $50 for the set. If that's less than you want, try selling them online instead of at a garage sale.

My mom used to put out a box that said "free" on it, mostly children's items, but really just items in general she knew she wouldn't be able to sell for .10 or less, mind u the year was in the early 90s) it lured the kids which in turn lured the adults to come check it bnb out

All these items are typical things, and in my experience have been hard to sell. I always seem to get people who want stuff I don't have. And some things I just can't sell for 5 or less when I paid way more for it and it's still new. I drop the price consderably, what I see people pay other places, but still have not had alot of luck. They want a ten dollar item or more for $1.

Here, everyone wants tools and jewelry. They also want furniture but they want it for practically free. That's great if you're trying to get rid of it but not great if you actually want to make money. I put out used lotions and shampoos and I was amazed that people snatched those up. I've even put out slightly used makeup and sold it all. I couldn't believe it. Baskets seem to sell well. Oh and with jewelry, put out everything. Even if it is broken or there's only one earring, people will buy it!
