  • In this episode I'll be covering how to wire up the MFC and how to program the digital radio Dual Rates and then the programming and training (teaching) the MFC. Also, I'll be showing a good speaker upgrade by using a smaller speaker with the same sound output.

    You really made that simple! The extra sheet of Plastic hides the Rat's nest nicely. 😊
    Thanks to your suggestion in an earlier Video, I bought the Servo Wire Crimping Tool. It's bloody BRILLIANT!!! 💯👍👍
    Thank you so much!

    OK, I do like that the leads are LABELED!! I've just started wiring up my Beier USM RC-2.... Let me stress - THIS ISN'T FOR NOVICES!!!!! 😖
    However the Sounds and the functionality is nothing short of AMAZING!
    For a laff, I could make me Kenworth W900 sound like an old VW Type 2 BUS!!! 😋😂😅
    Or a Tank, a bloody Tugboat, or 150 other vehicles! Not limited to one Sound...
    But Wiring and setup, especially for a first timer, despite having 35 years of experience, is a Headache inducer!

      I've been thinking of getting the Beier System for a while now with a full install and set up video to help people out but I've just not taken the plunge into getting one yet...

    • @CarminesRCTipsandTricks
      @CarminesRCTipsandTricks 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Right... For all the extra hassle, it was considerably cheaper than the MFC, even after all the ancillary items. 🍻👍
      I think that after you realise that you can have 5 different Horns - on one Transmitter, a myriad of lighting options - including flickering Headlights as the Motor turns over, AND you can add songs!! When your Smokey Truck can play "Eastbound and Down"....
      You'll be as excited about it as I am!

      I've seen a lot of trucks with the Beier System and I have to say that it does look very good... a lot of extra hassle over the Tamiya MFC which is plug-and-play but I'm certainly not put off by that.... Watch this space.... 😉

      Learned things! Firstly, the Beier Unit I was sold, was OBSOLETE 3 months after I bought it!!! 😖 That pillak KNEW it too!!
      Beier was so nice about my situation, they sold me the NEW USM-RC-3 for $15 less than I paid for the old ones!!! 😊 SERVICE. Not dead in the 21st Century!
      It works a treat, and the Sound is incredible. You can CHOOSE between 140 different Diesel Engines, 25 Gasoline Engines, with 30 different Horns, and a plethora of other fully adjustable sounds!!
      NOW I can highly recommend it.

    For some others watching this.... On Futaba and FlySky Radios, the Channel sequence is different.
    Channel 1: Steering
    Channel 2: Rt. Stick up\down, Coupler
    Channel 3: Throttle
    Channel 4: Lft. Stick side/side, Power Legs
    Just doing my bit! 😉😠🍺

    started to watch it and then realised that i need to referance this in detail as i have also brought the new speky receiver but i want to swop the 4 ch speky receiver from my merc truck to my grand hauler and put the new one in my merc. i have just brought a right hamd drive conversion for it with the led dash light panels and need to wire them up witch number on the receiver would be best to put it in so i can asign it to a switch on the dx6and could you cover doing that in video please

    • @TeriWilde
      @TeriWilde  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would fit the dash light connector into the MFC using a Y cable into a main headlight channel so it lights up when you turn on the lights. if you plug into a channel on the receiver it would give a constant 6v supply...

  • @rcjackiemack728
    @rcjackiemack728 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    What is the orange connector for underneath the 4 wires that plugs in to the receiver?

    • @TeriWilde
      @TeriWilde  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      it says in the manual that it's not used but I suspect it's for programming the main unit at the factory... I've not heard of anyone re-programming it yet 🙂

    Just built the king hauler with MFC 01 and trailer + motorised legs and lights, I have the Carson 6ch radio - everything works except the trailer red side lights (the brake lights and indicators are working fine) Also the trailer release only works with the selector switch on the control unit in the lowest position also there is no sound when coupling and in coupling the trailer even manually with the selector switch in the middle position. I have built 3 models in all aover the last few years knight hauler, cascading and another king hauler and all had same spec and all worked first time ? Do you think a factory reset of the MFC 01 would do it I’ve already checked all connections three times ? Any help suggestions welcome please

    • @TeriWilde
      @TeriWilde  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would reset and recalibrate... and consider upgrading the Carson radio to one with digital trims that can be programmed to have dual rate on J6 and J7... have a look at a FlySky FS-i6X.

    Hello, really appreciate your videos. I'm having an issue and I hope you can help. I have an MFC-01 and a Fly Sky FS-I6X. My forward throttle works perfect but I have little/no power in reverse. If the wheels are propped up, they turn but stop under any load. Any thoughts? Seems like there is a little dual rate issue on the reverse but can't figure out how to adjust it without messing up the forward?

    • @TeriWilde
      @TeriWilde  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The plug in J12 is a couple switch. When a trailer is added the coupler switch (J12) bridges the connection and enables full power in reverse. When no trailer is connected there will be a reduction in power. If you're not pulling a trailer you can simply bridge the connection on the J12 socket on the MFC.
      Also, When reversing, try holing the throttle stick to the left or right to get a slight power variance.

    How did you tidy your wires up from the rear lights. I’m doing a knight hauler

    • @TeriWilde
      @TeriWilde  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I wrap the wires into a loom and the thread them through the holes I predrilled in the chassis cross members... I do show in detail how I did this is my King Hauler build series. Good luck with the Knight Hauler build, I really enjoyed building one of them.
