Great review. We just purchased a premium plus q5. Amazing experience. The review mentioned no USB ports for the rear passenger but ours has them below the seat warmers.

The 2018 Q5 sales beat out the past top sellers, RDX and NX!

    • @ONI1013.
      @ONI1013. 5 ปีที่แล้ว

But didn’t beat the top selling RX, which is more in this segment. (not the NX, which competes more with the Q3).

This is actually a 2018.5 model. Compare to 2018 version, it seems the only difference is they moved USB #1 to near the cigarette lighter from the center console. Audi just came out with the true 2019 model days ago, so new AudiUSA didn’t even have all the interior photos ready when I checked. The 2019 version sees bigger revisions: on prestige model, now auto-parking is standard. The porous wood trim is no longer a $800 option but free. The sliding item holder under the armrest became a wireless phone charger, big enough to hold the bigger phones. The steering wheel telescoping/tilt is now motorized. There is also one new wheel design and a black optics package. With the additional standard equipment, price seems have creeped up just a bit (about 1k)

No way touch screens are nowhere near as convenient as the dial. The dial is superior and I have both the touchscreen and dial version to compare.

I had a Q3 as a rental and I fell in love. As soon as I got back home, I went to test drive a Q5, expecting the same quality, but just in a bigger package. The fit and finish was unfortunately much worse than my rental. I could not believe it. Of course, the Q5 is their volume seller, but you could tell that just by sitting in it. You could definitely tell by driving it. I went just down the road and bought a Mercedes GLC. Once again - a volume seller, but actually looks like I paid $60k for it. It's good to hear that 2019 is looking better because I really wanted to like that car.

Great review, as always! Did you feel any difference between the new quattro ultra system and the mechanical All-Wheel-Drive of the S5 Sportback you reviewed a few months ago? I like the new 2019 A7 very much but I am not convinced that the new ultra system will perform as well as the mechanical quattro system in the snow. Thanks.

Wish the US would adopt the individual lamp funtion on the rear to simplify the brake/turn indicator s; that would help on this q5. Hmm, this or a cx9 signature, atlas sel, or 3series wagon...

Mine does this too. 2018 and above Q5 owners mention this in online forums. I believe its the quattro ultra decoupling from the rear into front drive only. It only happens within the first time reaching 20 plus mph on dry/even pavement

i choose a old RX450h instead of this and never looked back ...greetings
from germany. This Audi weighs 1900-2000kg in 2019; a 10 year old RX450h with a
3,5ltrV6 plus Hybrid weighs 2150kg which i think is not so bad for a
over 10 year old Luxury SUV without having so much aluminium but
airsuspension, full interated HUD, electric adjustable wooden steeringwheel, moonroof and and and ;-)

A nice luxury SUV but... for the top model they want $54,000.?!? Lordy, my MAZDA CX 5 GT Reserve (2nd from top model) with 98% of Audi's amenities only cost me $34,050. before 8.25% state tax.. And I'm sure my 2.5 L. turbo's 6.4 second 0 to 60 time is faster than the 2.0 liter turbo time.
So is that badge really worth it? Yes, if you have the "disposable income". No, if you want better reliability and nearly the same level of luxury. The CX 5 Signature top of the line is only $36,000. before tax. Nappa leather, 360 deg. camera and a long list of safety and convenience amenities.

    I bought a 2017 Q7
The front windshield wipers don't work in the cold because the front defroster isn't strong enough to defrost the window
So the windshield wipers stick as you drive and you have to keep pulling over because you can't see with all the ice that builds up on the window
So all wheel drive or 0 to 60 in whatever doesn't matter if you can't see
The lane assist thinks snow ruts in the road are the lines in the road and pulls you into oncoming traffic
The GPS Works 50% of the time most of time driving you in circles when you really need it
You can't turn off the air conditioning another design flaw
The car always asks you to re-authenticate the cell phone you've had since you bought the car so you have to go through the setup process every time you enter to the car
I bought the rear DVD players from Audi they're called RSEs rear seat entertainment package
what a joke they advertise that they play DVDs from the onboard Audi DVD player but they don't cost me $3,000 Audi says DVDs are old technology can only live stream from Netflix another $3,000 out the window because of all these lies
all these car reviews are done when the conditions are perfect so of course they look like great cars but once you buy the Audi I guarantee you you'll regret it
I have a Mercedes E550 and the windshield wipers work perfectly along with everything else very easy to use different animal the Audi

Okay, I test drove a 2019 Premium Plus model today. I absolutely loved the I4 as it had plenty of power for me. Everything in the interior was fantastic, EXCEPT - the seats felt like we were sitting on padded concrete blocks. Really?? Nobody discusses this? Me and my wife had the same opinion, and the seats are real leather as opposed to most other SUVs in this class. We wrote off the Audi Q5 for the seats being so uncomfortable. My Nissan Frontier SL truck has seats that are way more comfy. Sorry Audi, but you FAIL just because you could not make the seats comfortable enough for such an expensive vehicle. Audi should be ashamed after spending so much detail to a great interior. Does nobody else find the seats to be an issue???
