All of these deaths were sad... but Selena’s was a different type of tragedy... she was basically the bread winner of the family... the murderer was once her close friend... she was in the middle of her English crossover album and on the brink of becoming an international household name... her love life was a fairy tale and she was planning to start a family... and she was undoubtedly the most beautiful, fashionable, down to earth, sweet, funny and talented artist... Imagine if she were still alive today 😭💓 Aaliyah’s death was extremely sad as well
Shan _ if she was still alive she would’ve been the Hispanic Ariana grande. She could’ve come so far in life with Chris, kids and her career, not to mention her caring family. Karen Carpenter was called "the chubby sister " by the press and that's what made her start a drastic diet that led to her eating disorder and ultimately, her death. They feel the need to look good because everything about them gets criticised. The reporter who called Karen Carpenter chubby was the trigger that sent her on a downward spiral. We really ought to be careful about how our comments can affect people.
Norway Minnesota I love her. I live in Asia and when I think of America, her voice comes first to my mind. I grew up listening to her voice during the early 90s, being my cousins' and aunt's favorite.
Mann! Aaliyah, Left Eye & Selena's death still hurt me still till this day they were all truly beautiful and one of a kind. Rip to all you beauties that passed away! We love you ❤️❤️❤️
Ello Bello Clairo I’m not forgetting but, those deaths definitely hit me harder than Amy. Aaliyah, Selena. Left Eye death was out of their control. Not Amy’s
This whole video is really depressing, but the most depressing part of it is that you categorize people’s deaths to the most important to least important. Every single death is devastating and equally so.
Aaliyah’s passing effected me the most. I was already a big fan when the “One In A Million” album came out, although I was four. My older siblings turned me on to her, and I loved her even more when I saw her movie “Romeo Must Die” since I was able to see her. She was so beautiful and her music comforted me at the age of 8 when she passed and still does today, at 26. I remember the exact moment of her passing, my mom woke me up from a nap and sat me in front of the TV where it showed “Aaliyah’s passes in plane crash”, I remember still being a little confused, since I was a child and never had a clear knowledge on death, but when it showed the plane I remember asking my mom “Was she in that plane?” and when she said yes, I remember just crying and crying. That entire day I remember just thinking of her and her passing, I remember even referencing death to myself during a walk with my mom and dad, and my mom was like “don’t say that”. It just made me sad that she was no longer on earth cus she was and still is my favorite artist. Her music, her voice and how cool and mysterious she was lowkey made me the man I am today and why I try to be a decent and caring human being, since the world and life itself can be very cruel, why not try and bring a smile upon a strangers face. A kind gesture or words can turn an entire life around. With all that being said, Aaliyah’s passing is still effecting the general public today, but any real fan knows the truth of her passing; an overweight plane that was not the original plane they had chartered, but smaller, all the video equipment and luggage, also 2 extra passengers accompanied by it, and the pilot alone. She’s was getting older and wanted more control of her career, music wise and in the film world, but her shady ass uncle, BARRY HANKERSON (check his track record) did not want his biggest star (who was then dating CEO of Roc-A-Fella, sporting the chain and throwing up the “Roc” hand gesture) even thinking of leaving his label. Which is why her last 3 and strongest selling albums “One In A Million”, “AALIYAH” and “I Care 4 U” aren’t available for streaming. His greedy and down right dastardly doing to his own niece caused his nieces death, and is the main reason why the newer generation have no knowledge of Aaliyah. But being her biggest fan I’ve made it a point of mine to raise my nieces and nephews and other younger family members up on her music, and let me tell you, my youngin’s love them some Aaliyah Dana Haughton, with all this being said, she was truly an angel and the blueprint for female R&B-Pop music today. You are truly missed.
Awww that was a beautiful story.I don't know her but she must be very very very very very special to you may God bless her hope you have a wonderful day
Dawit David aye man check her music out you won’t be disappointed!! If you know Beyoncé she have to know Aaliyah because she looked up to Aaliyah ❤️ she’s the blueprint
I understand what you're saying but I think the ranking is more of a measure of how shocking the death was and how much it affected people. For instance, I knew Whitney was going to overdose one day soon after seeing her trying to make a comeback and she could hardly sing. A couple of years later she was found dead. I figured if you are an artist and you're making a living from your body, and your vocal chords, your instrument, a gift, is no longer working, you have to be putting a lot of unhealthy things in your body. Everyone knew her history, years and years of abuse with drugs so I watched those TH-cam videos with sadness knowing it was a matter of time. The top 3 singers also were on the brink of SUPER stardom so it's that much more devastating. I think Selena should be #1 because her death was so senseless and cold-blooded. Some brought their own demise on themselves (well, some would say that the top 3 did too because life is about choices. People told Aaliyah to wait for another plane because she should not go on a plane with all that equipment) from the egregious acts of self-destruction; Billie Holiday, Amy Winehouse were so self-destructive. Left-Eye drove recklessly even after killing a 10 year-old boy. The universe sends signs all the time and some will ignore them. But I digress. In short, I think you can rate these deaths in order of most shocking. But that's only my opinion. Peace and love.✌❤
@omgbeckylookatherbutt seriously? Basement? Please.. I didn't ask to know about your pathetic & sad life. Jackasses like you love to assume that you know someone's (a total stranger on the internet🤨...) business, are actually the ones speaking about yourselves. Or maybe, you saw this comment somewhere & decided to just say it to me. Because I've seen these lame ass basement comments before. So lame. So unoriginal..
Selena, Left eye, and Aaliyah breaks my heart to this day! I was alive when they passed. I grew up listening to their music. It's tragic the way they all died. RIP all the ladies on this list.
Aaliyah #1. There's a void in pop culture and lack of positive female black role models out there in today's "music". Aaliyah graduated with a 4.0 GPA while simultaneously developed her music career. Aaliyah's style was her own and was never overtly sexual. Aaliyah was also a versatile artist. Not only a singer, but a model and actress. Aaliyah is a icon and is still greatly missed.
No she’s not #1. There is absolutely NO void in pop culture. She’s overrated. There are many singer who were & are better & more successful than she ever was. Aaliyah has no major impact on pop culture in general.
AA BB Aaliyah had no major impact? Her second album sold 3 million worldwide which was a high achievement in the 90’s especially for someone under the age of 18. On top of that she earned 15 musical awards during her short time as an artist. While I agree she was more categorized into R&B than pop, she’s still was still known as the “Queen of Urban Pop”.
In her time, she was dismissed as "white bread" and "square" but time has shown the beauty and timelessness of her voice. I would imagine that she would still be successful today.
Was Christiana's death tragic? Yes. Could she have become as big as the other artists on this list had she not died? Yes. Did a significant amount of people actually know who Christina Grimmie was before she died? No. Did Christina Grimmie have a huge influence or impact on the music industry? No. That's why she wasn't mentioned and that's why your list is invalid asf, although it is good that they at least included her in the video intro.
Hahaha. Stop being sarcastic? Her death might be tragic but her music or her fame has never reached the levels of the artists you'd just named. Her voice? Please! Not even a part of Amy? She doesn't write songs and whole bunch of other stuff, stop being stupid?
Karen Carpenters death. Listening to her in late 60's early 70's.She sang songs that anyone who heard them could in some way understand the feelings *Superstar* was actually called Groupie (Superstar)song was about Groupie who had fling with Rock guitar player. Her voice..Her voice... amazing!!
Why do self-inflicted deaths deserve a lower ranking? Whitney is iconic and Amy had a huge musical influence and legacy, they deserve 2nd and 3d place for me (2 for Amy and 3 for Whitney)
Haha! WOW! Rating someone's death in numerical order? I was gonna say something cruel and troll this post but you people are too savage even for a troll like me. I'm outta here sickos!
Out of everyone on this list the only one's with great singing voices were #1 Karen Carpenter, #2 Whitney Houston, #3 Billie Holliday #4 Janis Joplin and #5 Cass Elliott!
@@dianeschultz3229 I thought all the singers on this list had unique voices but, personally, I'd put Carpenter's voice ahead just a smidgeon. Particularly those low notes; so velvety and sad.
"Late at night when all the world--is sleeping--I stay up and thing of you..." "I wanna dance with somebody who loves me..." "Rock the boat, rock the boat, rock the boat" 😭
Karen Carpenter's passing with so sad because there's never been a voice like hers but I remember when it happened... it shined a light on anorexia and eating disorders that no one knew anything about. She gave in death the way she did in life.
I Stan Talent He was just saying that she had potential? I know u are a big selena fan and so am I, but he was just showing love to Aaliyah. Everyone knows Selena had amazing potential.
Joshua R And well I’m not talking about Aaliyah, I’m talking about all of them so how bout you mind your damn business, let ME have MY opinion & fuck outta my mentions.
I really don't understand why artists have to do drugs. They have all the money in the world and decide to go down a dark path. Sad, but I still respect them, we're all humans, we all have problems
You won't understand, because u don't know how hard that life is... they have to be all smiles all the time, they wake up in New York one day and the next day the have to be in Europe..it is a very stressful and tiring life, so they resort to drugs and alcohol to be able to keep up.
I believe it's partly the culture, i.e. their peers, some of whom they idolize, use drugs, and drugs are more easily accessible. Even if they aren't prone to use drugs in "normal" situations, being in the presence of drugs and drug users, on a daily basis, will increase the probability that they will use. It could also be that their career highs, e.g. audience highs, fame, etc., overwhelm their sensory perception/tolerance to the point that only drugs could induce similar highs. Maybe after achieving their lifelong dreams there are no better highs. It could also be due to their hectic schedules and their need to be so energetic all of the time, that they resort to drugs to keep them up. As they say, fame changes you. I'd guess the "reasons" for drug use vary from artist to artist, but that there are also some common themes.
At the time of their deaths Aaliyah's affected me the hardest in the moment. I Arrived in the Bahamas on a cruise ship the very next day and they were playing her music all over the island. Her death had been announced at a comedy show on the ship the night before we arrived in the Bahamas. And then Whitney In the moment. But it was Selena's death that affected me the longest Because at the time of her death I didn't realize who she was. When the movie came out I realized she was someone I met at the San Antonio fair about 3 years b4 her death. She was playing with her band and I was mesmerized And could not leave to keep up with my family. I walked up to her at the end And told her that she and her band where the best Spanish band I had ever heard. She thanked me In perfect English and laughed. When the movie came out I put it all together😢
No offense but dying in a plane crash is not even close to being a messed up way to die it's actually not at All you did instantly so no pain unlike other who were shot were in car crashes an probably lived through pain for a couple minutes and overdosing which sometimes hurts so plane crash not such a messed up way sh
Aaliyah's still get to me til dis day shame we lost her at 22 she was so young and talented and was about to be a breakout actress as well she had lot of movies lined up to make wish she didnt get on da plane :( i miss her til dis day
i wasn’t alive when selena lived her years but i’m mexican and speak and understand spanish so her music effected me even though i only got to see videos and songs and the movie about her🥺♥️
My list of people I know 5- Amy Winehouse 4- Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes 3- Christina Grimmie 2- Aaliyah 1- Selena (Please don't hate, this is just my opinion)
I like your opinion, My mom was a fan of Amy Winehouse before she moved on to acting and roleplaying, After she retired being a actor, I noticed a lump at the back of her throat that wouldn't go away, It was throat cancer, She died after she divorced my dad, I miss her
I agree. Whatever vicious rumors about Selena are going around, they need to be stopped. She was a beautiful talented intelligent lady who deserves our love and respect. It's wrong to disrespect the dead. She was an icon in the music industry and started becoming one in the fashion industry. Be civilized. Show her some respect especially now that she's deceased.

I think you're all forgetting about Amy Winehouse.... she was a bigger GOAT than Aaliyah and Left Eye, she made a bigger impact.
Ello Bello Clairo I’m not forgetting but, those deaths definitely hit me harder than Amy. Aaliyah, Selena. Left Eye death was out of their control. Not Amy’s
The four deaths that affected me the most was the death of Aaliyah,Selena, Whitney Houston, and Lisa
Minnie Ripperton, Billie Holiday, Janice Joplin, Whitney Huston, Patsy Cline, Mamma Cas, Karen Carpenter, Amy, Selina, Tammi Terrell, ladies, RIP you are all missed!!

Selena and Aaliyah 🙏🏾
Thank you Ms. Mojo for putting Aaliyah so high on this list. I feel she gets forgotten by the mainstream media.
That hurts that Selena was shot in the back by someone who was stealing from her.

This whole video is really depressing, but the most depressing part of it is that you categorize people’s deaths to the most important to least important. Every single death is devastating and equally so.
I dont think this one is like that...
I think they did it too who they thought has the most potential
Maybe they just wanted they ranked it and how big of an impact they made
Rip Lisa, Whitney, Aaliyah and Selena💞
Koraaa. They are all in a better place
Awww that was a beautiful story.I don't know her but she must be very very very very very special to you may God bless her hope you have a wonderful day
So beautiful..💖
Dawit David aye man check her music out you won’t be disappointed!! If you know Beyoncé she have to know Aaliyah because she looked up to Aaliyah ❤️ she’s the blueprint
You shouldn't do top ten of death people. No death is more important than other deaths. You can name 10 people who died but not put them on a ranking
Completely agree
200% Correct
THIS!!
Damn you like being offended, i believe the intention was good
We're seriously ranking how tragically these women died, and debating it on the comments ?

Aaliyah's death had the world in a different type of sadness. Everyone felt it
Aaliyah's death was quickly overshadowed by 911 unfortunately.
@@Transit_my-way Nope. Aaliyah is still relevant to this day.
@@TonyTurner I didn't say she was irrelevant. At the time her death got overshadowed by 911 about a couple weeks later.

RIP Whitney, one of the best singers this world could offer
Despite everything going on in her life, Whitney,s voice was strong, clear, and a vocal range seldom ever seen and heard before and after her death.

Potatoes still breaks my heart
Selena, Left eye, and Aaliyah breaks my heart to this day! I was alive when they passed. I grew up listening to their music. It's tragic the way they all died. RIP all the ladies on this list.
Why Whitney Houston is so low? She had the most beautiful voice I've ever heard!
Probably cause she was already 48 and had accomplished a lot already. The others were all still really young
she shouldn't even be on the list 48 is not young
48 may not be young, per se, but it's definitely not old. Whitney shouldn't be on the list because her instrument was dead long before she was.
Mandy X'O-twod they said before 50 so she's on it , pay attention
PrinceAnthony 87
I know, I heard that but that's what I'm saying 50 is not young. imo this shouldve been under 30's
Drugs and alcohol. The death of so many wonderful stars. 😔
Riri Pari alcohol is a drug
Oh no
Ikr so saad
But who's fault is that? All theirs.
Aaliyah’s life was cut way too short. R.I.P. Baby Girl.
Selena’s death will always be the saddest to me because her heart was so pure and you could literally see it
Right her manager killed her because she found out she was stealing money from her
All these most beautiful and talented women broke a lot of hearts when they passed
Alexander Arenas you are speaking the truth.
Yes...Aaliyah was a class act for sure,
👍👍👍👍👍
No she’s not #1. There is absolutely NO void in pop culture. She’s overrated. There are many singer who were & are better & more successful than she ever was. Aaliyah has no major impact on pop culture in general.
AA BB Aaliyah had no major impact? Her second album sold 3 million worldwide which was a high achievement in the 90’s especially for someone under the age of 18. On top of that she earned 15 musical awards during her short time as an artist. While I agree she was more categorized into R&B than pop, she’s still was still known as the “Queen of Urban Pop”.
Karen Carpenter has the voice of an angel.
IKR
Not gonna lie, that song 'Close to You' always makes me think of Homer and Marge
The Carpenters are timeless,..we'll be listening to them until the end of time.
fool4singing Exactly. The Carpenters can make the saddest of days become brighter.
In her time, she was dismissed as "white bread" and "square" but time has shown the beauty and timelessness of her voice. I would imagine that she would still be successful today.
Amy,Selena,Aaliyah,Lisa, Are all making music as well with all these lady’s they all made music in heaven
My List
5-Amy Winehouse
4-Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes
3-Aaliyah
2-Selena
-Christina Grimmie
+anthony chobot definitely!
anthony chobot Your list sucks too
after all, no one's lists are fair enough to please everyone :)

Karen Carpenter's passing was heartbreaking cuz it could have been prevented. The premature deaths of all of these ladies were all devastating.
It is such a pity music listeners today don't understand how big a deal The Carpenters were...Karen's voice is so pure
Her voice is very silky, I'm younger I didn't know her when she was alive but beautiful voice ❤ so sad she just seemed so pleasant and kind
Couldn't stand them myself, especfially her voice
Out of everyone on this list the only one's with great singing voices were #1 Karen Carpenter, #2 Whitney Houston, #3 Billie Holliday #4 Janis Joplin and #5 Cass Elliott!

I thought all the singers on this list had unique voices but, personally, I'd put Carpenter's voice ahead just a smidgeon. Particularly those low notes; so velvety and sad.
Karen’s voice is smooth like silk and pure as gold.
"Late at night when all the world--is sleeping--I stay up and thing of you..."
"I wanna dance with somebody who loves me..."
"Rock the boat, rock the boat, rock the boat"

Karen Carpenter's passing with so sad because there's never been a voice like hers but I remember when it happened... it shined a light on anorexia and eating disorders that no one knew anything about. She gave in death the way she did in life.

And well I’m not talking about Aaliyah, I’m talking about all of them so how bout you mind your damn business, let ME have MY opinion & fuck outta my mentions.
Bye. Aaliyah is overrated.
Karen Carpenter was one of a kind. Such a clear and sublime voice.
I really don't understand why artists have to do drugs. They have all the money in the world and decide to go down a dark path. Sad, but I still respect them, we're all humans, we all have problems
They lose their identity and cling to drugs as something to cope with in this crazy industry
You won't understand, because u don't know how hard that life is... they have to be all smiles all the time, they wake up in New York one day and the next day the have to be in Europe..it is a very stressful and tiring life, so they resort to drugs and alcohol to be able to keep up.
I know, but the drugs make it worse
+CrystalBlues. Some do get caught up due to the pressures of the industry. Some people just end up get caught up in that lifestyle.
I haven’t started watching but Aaliyah, left eye and Selena better be here
At the time of their deaths Aaliyah's affected me the hardest in the moment.
Aaliyah died in the most messed up way. This is why I’m scared of airplanes
