Selena & Aaliyah were on the cusp of superstardom. With their short time on this earth 🌎 they captured our hearts, and their music and legacy lives on forever. They’re still relevant Even decades after their death.
I haven’t finished the video yet, but I hope Billie Holiday, Dinah Washington, and Christina Grimmie will be mentioned. Edit: Thank you for mentioning the three above, along with Eva Cassidy, Janis Joplin, Left Eye, Whitney Houston, and of course, Amy Winehouse, and Aaliyah. Edit 2: It has been 63 years today since the world lost Billie Holiday…
Minnie brought me to tears, Cass brings back memories of my Mother, Patsy's voice still sound fresh today, Karen's beautiful voices still haunts me, Amy's look and style was like no other, Selena still brakes my heart and Whitney I still haven't gotten over losing!
Amy was a fantastic songwriter as well, writing a lot of her songs in her late teens/early twenties. I still can't get over the fact that she was so close to beating her addictions and demons. She was actually clean from drugs for several years before she passed.
Out of all of these beautiful ladies, Selena will always have a special place in my heart due to the fact that not only did I grow up during her reign but she came from the same state that I'm from & here in Texas Selena is STILL a big thing 💓💔❤💙💗
I tell you this ShowBiz stuff can be hard and tough. I just can’t believe this happens to many people. Marilyn Monroe died fairly young (despite she was an actress) but hopefully her legacy will live on.
Although I'm relieved you didn't forget Left Eye, I'm disappointed that the music you chose to play during her tribute didn't include any of her rapping. It's bad enough that certain radio stations omit her parts when they play TLC songs, but to have her parts omitted from her own tribute? :-(
I'm going to be honest before I never heard of Selena her music was a little before my time But then I took of some time to listen to her music and I also watch the biopic movie about her with Jennifer Lopez and after that I was genuinely sad that she was killed at the age of 23
It feels the artist deaths list just keeps repeating itself because they feel guilty for honorable mentions first they had to make female deaths one and now this which adds the honorable mentions from last time like seriously how many remakes will you make they literally just made one why makr the same thing over and over and they just added the honorable mentions they forgot many they weren't even mentioned like phyils and Laura that makes no sense 🙄

This truly might be one of your best lists. While I knew every lady's name you listed, I did learn some new facts about these legendary and diverse artists. Also, it was written beautifully, with no judgement for the artists who passed away in less than ideal circumstances. Finally, what I really liked is that you didn't "rank" them. It was 20, but none was less or more important than the other. That said, the three that I would have loved most to see what they would have accomplished are Karen Carpenter, Aaliyah and Selena.
I just realizes how many of the artist I loved were on this list smh. Dorothy Dandridge, Aaliyah, Minnie Rippleton, and Selena....man I know they would have stamped some greatness into the world.

Watching them together, you can totally see how much Tony Bennett loved Amy Winehouse. I feel like they would’ve done an album together had she still been alive. Very true
I totally agree!
True all are special in different ways👌🏿
Selena’s death is the one that still heartbreaking her songs were beautiful and unmatched if she were still alive she would still be #1 all year round
Selena & Aaliyah were on the cusp of superstardom. With their short time on this earth 🌎 they captured our hearts, and their music and legacy lives on forever. They’re still relevant Even decades after their death.
Exactly My Point. They Would've Dominate This Industry If They Were Still Here❤❤
I haven’t finished the video yet, but I hope Billie Holiday, Dinah Washington, and Christina Grimmie will be mentioned.
Edit: Thank you for mentioning the three above, along with Eva Cassidy, Janis Joplin, Left Eye, Whitney Houston, and of course, Amy Winehouse, and Aaliyah.
Edit 2: It has been 63 years today since the world lost Billie Holiday…
Be nice and smile to everyone you meet. You don't know what they are going through and they may need that smile and treasure it
Minnie brought me to tears, Cass brings back memories of my Mother, Patsy's voice still sound fresh today, Karen's beautiful voices still haunts me, Amy's look and style was like no other, Selena still brakes my heart and Whitney I still haven't gotten over losing!
Aaliyah’s death still shocked me, which makes me realize how short life is.
R.I.P. Whitney Houston, "The Voice". She was so beautiful and talented with a voice of a true angel. I still miss her alot.
I miss Amy Winehouse so much 🖤
I'm going to be honest before I never heard of Selena her music was a little before my time
But then I took of some time to listen to her music and I also watch the biopic movie about her with Jennifer Lopez
and after that I was genuinely sad that she was killed at the age of 23

It feels the artist deaths list just keeps repeating itself because they feel guilty for honorable mentions first they had to make female deaths one and now this which adds the honorable mentions from last time like seriously how many remakes will you make they literally just made one why makr the same thing over and over and they just added the honorable mentions they forgot many they weren't even mentioned like phyils and Laura that makes no sense 🙄
thank you for the list.
Aaliyah’s death still shock me 😭
May all of these Queens forever Rest In Peace & May their legacies live on forever!
🙏🏾✨🕊👑
Christina Grimmie’s death is one that hits harder with every passing thought about it.
Selena Forever 🌹🎤💄
Been a fan since before she passed away, she's influenced me in many ways. I always strive to be like her, for the way she is as a person. Forever my favorite.
Well done MsMojo - this was beautifully done
Dusty Springfield died at 59 and is still too young. Though she died when she was up there in age, her legacy is undeniable.
Would have been amazing to see an Aaliyah and Ciara collaboration. I know it would have been 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Christina Grimmie, I grew up watching her covers. When I was 17 she passed and when I was 18 my sisters passed. God must have a plan to take such beautiful souls with him RIP angels 🕊
I remember as an Australian teenager loving Minnie Riperton. Was shocked to see her dying so young from breast cancer. A wonderful singer
Dolores O' Riordan from The Cranberries and Soraya also died young
I just say Soraya singing on a rerun of the tv show, New York undercover. From Ms. Harper Stacey.
Whitney Houston was a legend who was taken WAY too soon. We miss uuuuuuuuu 😭😭😭😭
@TEXT±𝟹𝟷𝟽𝟼𝟺𝟽𝟻𝟾𝟺𝟽 I'm not interested
I think Naya Rivera deserved an Honorable Mention. Like, i know she was mostly an actress, but boy that voice... You just couldn't ignore. She was pure talent.
THANK YOU! I’ve been scrolling through the comments to see if anyone mentioned her so I was very relieved to see your comment. RIP Naya you beautiful soul. You will be missed. 😥🕊️
Karen Carpenter is my absolute favorite ❤️ Nobody had such a clear, beautiful pitch like Karen had 🌹
Whitney I can't say she died to soon cause she accomplished so much
What happened to Christina Grimmie was so unfair
Rest in Peace to all of these amazing artists that were taken away from us way too soon. You are all dearly missed 🙏🏾🕊❤️
Left, Whitney, and Selena. Three of my girls. Thank you, MsMojo, for not forgetting them. 💖 #waterfalls #iwillalwaysloveyou #dreamingofyou
Aaliyah, Selena, and Christina Grimme right off the bat.
Thank you for this! Wanted a top 20 version of this after watching the original top 10 version many years ago. A lot of the female artists mentioned here were honorable mentions in the original top 10 version.
Watching them together, you can totally see how much Tony Bennett loved Amy Winehouse. I feel like they would’ve done an album together had she still been alive. He liked to mentor her and I feel like it was a similar relationship to him and Lady Gaga. Also, I learned somewhere that Amy’s next album would’ve been a Christmas album. That would’ve been epic!
Most sources say Amy’s next album would be heavily reggae and rap influenced. With some Jamaican roots as well
@@blahblahblah6898 I would’ve liked that as well!
Love Amy Winehouse, Whitney Houston, Selena miss them so much💗💗
Sometimes stars only shine for a brief time. RIP to all these great ladies ❤️
28 years ago today on March 31st 1995 the world lost Selena😰😰
Rest In Peace Selena❤️❤️
RIP to all of these women 🕊 but the main 4 I listen to on here are Aaliyah, Left Eye, Selena & Whitney.

Especially " Dance with Somebody"..!! voice was lovely & strong. She has some great & fun songz. Left Eye seemed so down to earth. May these ladies R.I.P. They will never be forgotten..!!
British pop singer Alice Martineau (8 June 1972 - 6 March 2003) should be on this list too.
It’s August 2022, and Aaliyah is still on my mind
RIP Aaliyah, Selena, Dorothy Dandridge, Whitney Houston, Amy Winehouse, and all the female singers that passed too soon 🎼🪦🥀🕊💔
Including Sulli Hannah stone and lata mangheskar
Tammie Terrell Marvin was never the same after she died 😔
Aaliyah and Whitney struck me the most, Whitney was an amazingly talented legend and Aaliyah passed way too soon even though she was very beautiful and multi talented, they will always be remembered for their beautiful presence and passion ❤❤

All these artists were beautiful, immensely talented and gone way too soon. Selena and Aaliyah would have gotten so much further in their careers if their lives not been cut tragically short.
