  • I removed the actuator and installed a manual push/pull rod to activate the inside/outside air door.

      My pleasure! I was so fed up with not being able to get the inside air to work. Once I found a video on where the door was, I decided to go with the manual push rod. Now the AC always comes on when I turn the fan on, but I don't care. At least I can choose what air I want :-)

    Bro I love the idea of the manual circulation
    For the dodge charger, my family and i have been struggling with outside air for arou g 3 years now and I did it to our car and OMG!!! IT FEELS GOOD TO HAVE INSIDE AIR!!!! Thanks for ur idea. I loved it!

      Glad I could help! Other than a few stupid designs in the car, I really like it.
      Apparently Chrysler (Stalantis) is discontinuing V-8 engines, so I'm gonna hang on to this car as long as I can. I'll replace the engine when it dies 😋

    The recirculating air usually doesn't work if you have the defroster mode on, on most vehicles. If this is happening on all other settings, then there is a problem with that for sure. Nifty fix you did there.

    • @saltyshellback
      @saltyshellback  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah, I read several bulletins and community threads about this issue and even watched a few youtube videos. The common problem seemed to be the humidity sensor going bad and no matter the settings you couldn't get the inside air to engage. People have said that even after replacing the $60+ sensor, it still would not get the inside air to work.
      I tried looking for a schematic to jump the wires on the sensor, but couldn't find any. People have said that they tried jumping the connectors and blew fuses, so I avoided that😄

      @@MPOWER-zg2kc Sorry for the late response. TH-cam didn't send me a notification of your comment.
      What I think happens when you push the recirc button is that the sensor measures what the current humidity is in the car and if it is below a certain level, it will then close the blend door. But if it is above a certain level, it will leave the blend door open with the AC on to remove the humidity.
      The problem is if the sensor is broke, it just leaves the blend door open as a "safety" precaution. I've had cars with manual air blend doors and never had an issue with humidity. That's why I just bypassed the automatic feature.

    Great video and amazing work there! The only issue with that is your ac compressor will be turning on automatically even when you have it off because it still take its commands from the humidity sensor. Therefore youll have a continuously running ac even when you don’t need it. Thoughts?
