- The front ac was not blowing cold in our Dodge Charger Limousine. I discovered that the recirculate was not working. I will show you how to diagnose and repair this problem.
This video was extremely helpful. It showed me a starting point for where to begin to figure out why my A/C wasn’t working properly. It cooled great going down the highway, but sucked when car was idling for any amount of time. My problem was not the actuator itself, it turned out that the shaft the actuator turns was snapped off. Probably snapped off due to the previous owner replacing the actuator , but not calibrating it when it was installed. This little actuator has a surprising amount of torque when it turns.

Got my 2013 Dodge Charger back from replacing the thermostat and coolant - now the recirculate button flashes but will not turn on. Thanks for the very helpful information.
You need to replace the humidity sensor between the rear view mirror and the wind shield.
thanks for this video.. i have a 300 2010 and rt charger 08 and they both have this issue. it really pisses me off the fact that i have recirculating (on) and i smell car exhaust at a stop. i always though chrysler dodge and jeep had a open vent! im happy i found this out im gnna fix this asap.

I been struggling not having good ac and I always thought that my AC vent was pulling air from outside sometimes I could stand next to the cabin vent and hear air being pulled inside the cabin

I have a 2012 Charger and I’ve replaced my blend door actuator on the driver side and it still clicks. So I took it off again and plugged it in without reattaching it to see if it would click. When I turned the A/C temp down to low it started to click without the actuator being attached. So would could be a possible issue?
My recirculate vent is stuck in the open position, but what position does the new actuator come in?

There’s a power to each recircul door actuators. Switched them - did not help. Still hot on passenger side. Any suggestions?

First start by making sure you have the correct amount of freon in the system. Once this is confirmed you will want to see if you have a blend door not working.
did you get any hvac codes by leaving it unplugged? Did it effect the humidity temperature sensor? thanks

my 2013 Chrysler 300 makes a tapping noise comming from same area, is it due to a bad actuator as well ?
Most likely yes. What usually happens is the plastic gear inside of the actuator brakes and that is the clicking noise that you hear.

Hello Sir, recently I noticed the recirculating light flushs three time and stops, I assumed that the issue is with the humidity sensor at first. However, the knocking sound started today. I live in a HOT country an always have the recirculation ON. Can you please elaborate the steps to permanently close the door as i was not clear to me.?
When you remove the recirculate door actuator, manually turn the door by hand. When you reinstall the old actuator make sure the door stays set to closed. Or just replace the actuator , I don't think they cost very much money.
Does the actuator need to be calibrated in any way after or prior to replacing, or is it direct swap, plug and play?
My recirculating button keeps blinking when I try to cut it on I put a new humidity sensor on and it still blinking what can be the problem please help

How are you going to make it turn after you manually close the vent if the actuator doesn't work in the first place? You have to buy a new actuator then install it to make it turn and then leave it unplug. I was confuse and had to watch the video a few times to understand what you meant to say.
when I bench tested the old actuator with my power probe I was able to make it move just enough to reinstall it in the constant closed position.

Yes I do think that's your problem. Even if the light is on your recirculate door may not be closed.

I changed the sensor, and I put a K&N cabin air filter but my air circulation button just keeps blinking and I live in Fort Worth Texas and it’s super hot that my air can’t keep up being cooled for a while until sun gets down
You need a humidity temp sensor that’s on the windshield by the rear view mirror
99% of the time your humidity sensor is the cause.

It worked. Easy as hell to change out as long as you're careful. Now it blows like the Antartic winds! lol

@@officialteamun-wreckable9886 Yes, that's exactly what it means. I did a lot of research on it before I changed mine. You can find it pretty much anywhere but I got mine from rockauto.com for only about $50. If you try to search directly for the humididty sensor, nothing will pop up but it will if you put the part number in. Part #55111389AF. Don't hesitate to ask if you have any other questions or concerns.

Ima go get mine today at the dealership. Besides that recirculating button not working on my screen and on my dash, I feel like when it’s running it feels Lil cool but not like it suppose too, and when I’m at a stop light it feels like is on fan mode... u think is for the the same reason the humidity sensor??
What if you plug where the cabin filter goes what if you plug it well that still help the air conditioner
No that won't help, because the air intake needs to be diverted to the inside intake vent.
Every person I know that has a 300 a charger has actuator problems why why why Chrysler did this to us

This happened in my ram the door broke off the actuator.. I taped it to the mid point of open and closed lol
I have a 14 challenger... a/c was running like shit..heat works fine of course...they say I need to replace recirculating door assembly...recirculate button can be pushed on...stays on..doesnt flash..but my defroster flashes. 2k just for them to fix it.. cant seem to find the "assembly" anywhere for this though..part number or whatever. Dealership being a pain giving it.. what's the deal?
Did you find the part number? I too need the door assembly and cannot find anything on it.
@@jasintaslobig1222 as it turns out..I took out the glove box and ended up replacing only the actuator there at the assembly. The assembly itself was moveable by hand therefore not broke. I only needed actuator. Take glovebox out and remove actuator right there. Manually see if u can close door. If you can all u need is an actuator.
GET WREKT actually replacing the actuators right now will let you know

I have a 2011 300C and in the heat of the day or in traffic it's not that cold at night time it's ice cold is that the problem

You left out how to remove the glove box and dashboard. Why leave that out?

If the air conditioner button is off that means your AC compressor is not engaged. It should not be cold.

The problem is your humidity sensor. It is mounted on the windshield right underneath the rear view mirror.
@@thelimogarage9665 I thought so. When its cool out it's enabled. Now I've got a chirping sound coming from my 5.7. Its not the normal click the lifters make, i heard that Hemis had lifter sticking issues & score the cams?
I never was a big fan of the earlier hemis. They did have a valve train issue. If you're getting a chirping noise could it possibly be the belt?

hotwire 589. He posted a video about his cam failure & listed a number for Chrysler. I called & they transferred me to Damlier. Long story short they're going to cover the costs as a "good will" customer. So long as the dealer diagnoses it as the problem. Well, it finally feels good that I've caught a break with something in life lately. I love my Gen 3 Hemi Charger but don't have $5k to spend on a cam/lifter repair being I still have a loan & I'm permanently disabled. Besides, I want to build a spare engine with a supercharger one day. Thank you so much for your replies. Very nice of you. I'll keep in touch. 😀👍

My actuator clicks for about 20 seconds every time i get in the car and my Circulator button flashes and i did a A/C recharge but still hot air ???
Your actuator is clicking because the plastic gear inside of it is broken. The actuator will have to be replaced.

@@donniesmith8493 there are lot of factors that go into a functioning air conditioning system. As long as you don't have any other problems with the system you should be good to go once you replace the actuator.

No, you have a blend door problem. This is the recirculate door.

Most likely you have a bad humidity sensor it is mounted just above the rear-view mirror on the windshield.
Great idea but not great. You see in defrost mode , you actually need outdoor and indoor and the AC always turns on with defrost mode.( hot or cold). Now I know you’re saying “ he is in Florida dumbass”. I also am in Florida. Anyone here can agree.

Your skip 20 skips out the front door ..... ⛈. The sky opens TF up on you as your skip turns into a life or death lightning gauntlet sprint.
No man alive can make it without 60-80% clothing wet and head dripping... you get in you 7500°f car and .... you guessed it. Steam bath. This would be when that door matters.
#2 if you are a smoker you turn off recirculate and set to def/floor to pressurize the cabin so smoke will haul ass out of the 2” down window.

My max AC doesn't activate on my 300. Plus not sure why they seem to design every car when you shut it off the blend doors automatically go to floor then you turn car on it takes 20 seconds for it to start blowing out the AC vents. Very poor design. AC blends system should not have power to it when key is off. Blend door position should stay where you left it. This it what makes them go bad so quick.
Man I can’t believe how Chrysler can charge $27,000- $40,000 for a car and after a few years the A/C quits. In all the cars I’ve owned I have never had A/C issues, then again not one of them was a piece of crap Chrysler. Pure junk!

sounds like you have a problem with your humidity sensor. It is mounted on the windshield directly underneath the rear view mirror. I have found this to be a very common problem.
