2013 Dodge Charger SXT actuators and blend doors acting stupid

  • I dunno why, but my ac isn´t working as it should. Theres only hot air coming out of my vents regardless if I set the temps to low or if I set it to max ac. The actuator for the vents to regulate where the air should come out seems to work good. All blend doors and all actuators work well but they seem to get false responses from the HVAC.

There are way too many people posting videos and on forums about Charger actuators and heating/cooling problems. Obviously there is a design flaw, but Dodge will resist doing a recall with all their might. Needs to be a class action lawsuit. Maybe then they will fix this issue.

Thank you thank you!! I am a rookie and I didn’t know that they were two 200 door actuators. But by looking at your video I figured out that there were two and I actually changed the wrong one and went back and ran stall the correct one so thank you for this video that was very helpful!!

I just did the temp actuator on the driver side, closest to the firewall. It is not nearly as bad as it seems. The only caveat is you need one of those small 90 degree ratchets with a T-15 Torx head. There are only 2 screws on this one. The one behind the glove box has three. Be careful taking off the plastic cowel at the drivers knee. The temp sensor will snap if you are not careful. Other than that, once all the pieces are off its pretty simple.

might be that gears inside actuator slip off sink causing hvac to sense wrong positioning

You can easily pry off the plastic from the windshield vent and then use a magnet to get out that bolt

2012 Dodge Charger I’m getting hot air from the driver side when I set it to high but cold air coming from the passenger vents. Any suggestions?

Chris, really interesting video. I have a HVAC / blend door actuator issue on my 2015. The actuator in the video, is that one for the passenger side? I understand that there are 3 - where are the others? My drivers side is unable to get warm air, but everything else works 100% OK. Thanks

I know this is an old video, but I have this same thing happening on my Challenger RT & suspect that it's the software (I've already updated it to the newest version) or the HVAC unit itself. The passenger side vent will blow hot air for a short period of time on startup (5-10 min), then will switch over to AC. Sometimes it will alternate before staying on AC for good. Drivers side is fine, but doesn't blow as hard as I'd like.

No they look good from the inside. I´ve opened up an actuator to see if there´s something bad. Actuators and sensors are good. But they have to be recalibrated by the dealership.

  • @julioflores6785

En mi caso los actuadores se movian solos no respondian alos controles. Realice la calibracion y aun asi seguia el problema... desconecte la bateria uniendo cable positovo con negativo durante 30 min y eso soluciono mi problema
