    I loved watching this - I watched them go by on first ave - it was exhausting for me.

    Thank you for taking the time to make this video. The visual helps me 300x more than reading articles or looking at a course map.

    Great clips, thanks for posting. was my 1st ever marathon, hit the wall on 1st ave but managed through it. Well done all.

      1st avenue was the toughest part for me. It was too wide and long (that's what she said) and you could see how much farther you had to run.

    Such a great day. My hardest marathon, but also my most enjoyable.

    Thanks for posting! NYC was my first... after doing it with a Hero 8 it's safe to say this was the perfect ad for Samsung's camera stabilization (see the video i posted XD). Great job and congrats on finishing!

      Thank you! Great video. Besides the obvious advantages of the GoPro, another one is the easiness of just pressing a button and shooting.

    Great job Otto! You took the time to capture key moments keeping the video steady and very good audio. even pausing to get a 360 views. Incredible experience ... as if i was running with you !

    Is that Meb at exactly 22:34 in the video?!? Love this. Huge congrats to all that finished. I time qualified with a half marathon of 1:26 on the dot. But at the race I barely came in under 5 hours with muscle cramps for the entire 2nd half. Was the toughest mental race I have finished, and the most fun and rewarding race ever thanks to the amazing crowds in NYC.

    • @OttoVogrincic
      @OttoVogrincic  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Omg, it looks like him. I was so happy and exhausted that I couldn't register things. That's a great half marathon time. I passed out of a heatstroke after crossing the finish line at the Brooklyn half, so every time my heart rate was very high, I walked for 30 seconds or so to play it safe.

    If only the marathon was a couple of days later, it would've been a 20° difference in dropped temperature.

    I can't imagine how it was like holding the camera while running. that looks tiring in it itself

    • @OttoVogrincic
      @OttoVogrincic  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I had the phone in a pocket in my tights. Every once in a while I would take it out. Sometimes I would miss what I wanted to film altogether. But yeah, it was tiring.

    • @OttoVogrincic
      @OttoVogrincic  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Most definitely! The volunteers were the MVPs of the marathon. The crowds as well. People handing out water bottles and fruits in every borough. It was a great NYC community event

      There are several ways to enter. I believe the registration period for the lottery starts in February.

    There shoulld have been more water stations. Hydrate ran in warm weather conditions

    • @OttoVogrincic
      @OttoVogrincic  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, I heard some stations ran out of cups in the later waves. I took a bottle and was going to throw it after finishing it, but I'm glad I kept it and refilled it at every other station

  • @SB-gd7mh
    @SB-gd7mh ปีที่แล้ว

    I don’t get why this is such a big deal, you don’t even have to run, but the finishers walk around for days afterwards with their medals acting like they just cured cancer, the attention seeking is so sad

    • @lukask2597
      @lukask2597 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      you try running it first maybe then you'd realize how hard it is to push your body to run, RUN 26.1 miles on a warmer than average day or just in general
