    I ran NY in 1998. I have run 18 marathons but the unique thing about NY is how emotionally draining it is. The noise really takes energy out of your legs, it's quite remarkable. The big guy, the supporter, running alongside you around mile 18 or 19 is a classic example of what bombards you literally every step of the way.

      It’s like no race out there! Really is, thank you for confirming that!! Also that guy was Mark, saw him at the right time :)

    Tough course made harder by the heat and humidity. It’s going to take me a little while to appreciate that I just ran the NY Marathon. Time doesn’t always matter. The day, the community of runners, the feeling of accomplishment are more important. Meeting you (and Kofuzi) at the end of the race was also cool, too. Be proud of what you’ve done. See you at the next one!

      Thank you Mark. A pleasure to meet you and congrats on making it to the end. That is the overlying win this past weekend and the fact it was difficult means we will all remember this forever.

    I was so touched by this journey of yours, but above all felt so inspired by your own internal struggle. I’ve just run 2 half marathons and you have given me the impetus to go on. What a video. Keep going bud.

    Nice Video 👍, really does capture the whole experience of the day. Thank you for producing it.
    It was very tough day and real in the trenches stuff.
    I was struggling from start and at times it felt like i was fighting for my life out there. I remember thinking how on earth am i going to finish this, the fear of a DNF did enter my mind.
    All a bit sad for me as i was looking forward to this all year and it turned into a bit of an anti climax and not very enjoyable experience. Trained very hard and was quietly confident of beating my previous PB of 3.30, but had to run/walk from mile 18 onwards came in at 3.45 😔.
    Feels like it all was a bit wasted.
    Hopefully the unpleasent experience can fuel the hunger for future races/achievements.

    • @AmritpalGhatora
      @AmritpalGhatora  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You finished and that is the biggest win of last weekend! Thank you for watching, it really was in the trenches running from the off.
      Rest, recover and come back even more hungrier.

    It was my first marathon and I did 4:02:27. I was aiming sub 3:45 from the start but had no idea what the couse would bring later on. The hills, the heat, everything just crushed my legs.Couch to marathon in 10 months completed. Survived for another day, another marathon hopefully. Running is truly inspiring.

    Amrit, congrats on completing the NYC Marathon 2022! Lovely seeing your video. I ran this year - it was my first ever marathon! NYC was something else, crowds, energy made an awesome experience. It was hard work especially given the heat and humidity. Loved the video - reminded me of the course, streets, people and a great (but tough) day.
