I stay there a few times a year . Great staff and hotel. Breakfast could be better but I usually sleep during breakfast hours and then walk across the street to the Hideaway to eat. The suites have tubs with LED lighting . The ladies love the tub. Big enough for 2
Thank you for watching the video and thank you for your comments, I have had the breakfast at the Hideaway 😁Is that two people in the tub or two ladies and you? 🤣
Hey new to watching your videos, great reviews mate I'm going later this year so looking to book hotel. Have you ever stayed or done review at (Page 10 Hotel soi 10) ??
Good hotel when I stayed here in 2023. Unfortunately they increased the prices since then. Breakfast was average and rooms facing the front are noisy due to facing bars/traffic.
I've stayed their last year for a month. It was a pleasant stay but the prices has risen a bit. I am looking for another hotel and watched your March hotel review. Was thinking of giving it a try but after watching this review I may stay again :) If you had to choose between March hotel or Amethyst, which would you have better rating?
I think I would rate the Amethyst higher, it's a better location, and I think if you had a room at the back of the hotel you'd probably be okay. If you try booking direct on the hotels website you tend to get a better price.
The hotel looks nice, I might bear it in mind for my next trip! The only other thing I'd say is Pattaya seems a bit soulless post pandemic. There's much more going on in BKK.
@@paulsgetaways Both places are good to be honest. What I find is that its good to do maybe 2 weeks in pattaya and 2 weeks in bangkok lots of clubs there too
The owners been in the city for years .Thai/ Chinese have gold shops and allso have the Katesirre. the hotel is first class my friends stay there along with the Amber hotel on soi 21 another gem
Lovely hotel mate would def stay there i discovered a brand new 4 star hotel near terminal 21 called the AKARA check it out it is about 70 pounds a night great for the price i booked for 2 weeks in October cheers for the review and happy new year.
Staying near that intersection (Soi 15 & Soi Buakhao) means plenty of noise during the night always. Amethyst certainly looks like a nice European style hotel if that's what you're looking for. I am never concerned with hotel breakfasts when I stay in Pattaya as there are plenty of great breakfast places within walking distance anywhere in central Pattaya (the HIdeaway is almost right across the street and Cheap Charlies is less than a 5 minute walk from Amethyst). I stayed right across the street in the Dynamite Sports Bar's guest room for 6 weeks in May/June for 600 baht/night (no breakfast, pool, gym).
Thank you for watching the video and thank you for your comments, I appreciate it. I always like to get a hotel with a swimming pool and breakfast. I have had the breakfast at the hideaway it was pretty good.
This actually looks like the 28m2 room, I'm sure the 32m2 rooms are on the opposite side of the corridor, unfortunately the prices of this hotel has risen around 30% back In August I payed £58 for the jnr suite, the cost of the cheapest room is now between £65/70 I was actually in this hotel just under a week ago, unfortunately on the 4th floor opposite side with a view of somebody's room almost within touching distance from my balcony, just like you I had the two matress shoved together to make an absolutely massive bed, previously it was a proper king size. just noticed no wardrobe either which you do have in the 32m2 room
Thanks for sharing your experience! It’s really interesting to hear about the different room layouts. The price increase is definitely something to consider, I think as the hotel is getting more and more popular the prices will keep rising. That’s a shame about the view And yes, the bed setup is definitely unique. Appreciate your insights!"
The rooms at the Amber are smaller than the Amethyst, I'm actually sure this is the 28m2 room (the smallest) as it's on the side facing the side street and the 32m2 has open glass in the toilet. Their is also shade In the pool area with plenty of large umberellas.
Hi Paul, I'm coming to Pattaya for the first time in May for the month. I was wondering what is best to do for a hotel, do i book in advance with Agoda or don't book and try to get a walk in price.. Just checked this hotel on Agoda and for May it is double the price you paid.
I’d just wing it mate if you go in may, it will be low season and cheap, depends what your budget is? I can help you I’ve been quite a few times plus I’m going in 5 weeks
@@Mot8484 I'm looking to stay somewhere between Pattaya klang and south Pattaya road around soi buakhao area, I've seen sleep with me hotel for around £900 for the month . so looking to see if i can get the same standard hotel for cheaper or a better one for same price.. any tips and advice would be gratefully received.
@ that’s expensive mate £900. I’m staying 3rd road this February for 6 weeks. Cost me £600 and that’s in high season. Don’t use Agoda or any sites like that. Better off contacting the hotel outright. My hotel is 3 star with a cracking pool and nice balcony etc plus my water and electricity is included. Most hotel at the end of the month charge you for the electricity you use and water so if you got the air con on you’ll have a hefty bill at the end of it! Search on TH-cam reds Pattaya he goes to different hotels every day. If you want a link for my hotel I can send it over mate 👍🏻
Why do the thais insist on those huge beds? If they swapped that 7 footer for a 5' or 6' maybe they'd get a wardrobe in? Otherwise looks a really nice place.
Not worth the price. The Pool is nice, the bed looks great and the gym is better then most of the other hotels. The Rest is the same like the hotels i lived before, only a little better looking because the hotel is new, for 1/3 of the price.
Arguably a very good location but like so many hotels there - vaunted and fancy common areas don’t translate into more than a garden variety room of relatively small size . Not a value.
@paulsgetaways Siam Bayshore Hotel , Siam Bayview , or one of the best 4 star Hotel in Pattaya is the Thai Garden Resort , opposite of the shopcenter 21 !
Nice hotel, amazing bed, room for 3 !!!
3 🤣🤣🤣🤣 you go for it
great videos as always Paul
Thank you so much 😁
Top man nice review
Thanks 🙏
An excellent Hotel thanks for the detailed review and have a Great 2025.
Thank you for your comment. I'm glad that you enjoyed it, have a great 2025 yourself 😁
Nice Vlog Paul, well done.
Hotel looks very nice / modern room. Yes Shame about the "wardrobe & breakfast"
Nice to have friendly staff. 👍👍

Hi Paul, looks so nice Amethysts Pattaya hotel, 🎉
Thanks Helen, It's one of the better hotels in Pattaya. 😎
Stayed there Paul 2 years ago ...Top hotel still looks fab cheers
Thanks, it's still a good hotel and all in great condition.
thanks Paul 😊
I have a stay coming up in March. How is the street noise at night when trying to sleep? Great video...
I had no problem with noise when I stayed 😁

Thank you, great video! QUESTION: First Timer: Would this hotel be considered "guest friendly"?
Yes, I think most hotels now in Pattaya are.
Yes it is

@paulsgetaways oh lastly, how was your wifi? Last time it kept going off and on for me

I suppose it depends on what you are looking for, if you look at the pictures of Pattaya for New Year there was certainly a lot going on! 😁

Where did you book it to get at that price?
If you book direct with the hotel for at least seven nights you get quite a good discount.
The lack of double glazing was my only gripe. But now all the building work across the street has been completed, you probably don't need it.
Thank you for watching the video and thank you for your comment. There was a fair bit of bar noise at night as well.

The room is very small & there’s no shade at the pool area . I stay at either the Amber hotel or the August suits hotel
The room was quite compact but there were plenty of umbrellas at the pool, not tried the August suits yet 😎

Yes they have bacon at the omelet station
The breakfast didn't look great and lacked choice. I enjoyed your review but wouldn't book it

The balconies are not for sitting on, I guess you can stand out there and smoke if you wanted too, as you say is it terrible view 🤣
