I agree with you except one thing: I’ve had two Sonos Ones in stereo pair but after a few weeks I returned them and I got the Move because I needed something more versatile and convenient as the Move is. The sound of the move is great but I miss something of the One, the One had a crispier sound and in many songs I felt there was this clarity, crispness and richness in the mid-high frequencies that the move hasn’t. I don’t know how to explain it but this detail really made the One stand out for his price tag, and the move which costs even more hasn’t it.
You must have gotten a faulty unit. This speaker is amazing and I’ve tried tons of different ones. Best sounding portable speaker I’ve ever heard BY FAR. The other speakers mentioned in this review are cheaper, but don’t come close to the quality of the Sonos Move.
I too have the Move and Sonos One's and a Play 5. The Move is clearly better than the One but not as good as the Play 5 as expected. I agree with others that there must be something wrong with your Move and you should return it or get it fixed. Did you adjust EQ settings in the app? Mine was ordinary when first played as EQ controls were flat but after adjusting bass and treble it was clearly better than my Ones.
i think something might be wrong with yours. the only thing i have heard from any critic is that it sounds way better then the sonos one, and even better than the sonos three. so i think you should get it checked out, and get it fixed on the warenty.
Ok I have a one and a play 5 and a move. What you are saying is completely false. The move sounds quite good and has a very balanced sound throughout the volume levels. The auto true play also works amazing keeping the speakers sound well balanced no matter the environment. Obviously it isn’t stellar but it is way better than you make it out to be.
This review is out of sync with what you are seeing many other official review, the Amazon customers reviews and Best Buy which has it as 5 stars. So your view seems very much a minority one.
I actually compared it to every relevant SONOS Speaker, and I made comparison video's so I do have a idea of the sound quality. Many people only have the Move so they have nothing to compare it against so it will naturally sound well
Uh. I highly doubt that the majority of the reviews are coming from persons who only have the Move. Also, it appears that it is very popular with existing Sonos users. In fact if you check Amazon.com it is clear many of the reviews are from persons who own Sonos products. Other professional reviewers have also made the comparisons with other Sonos products. So you are not the only one who has done this comparison. So again it appears very much out of sync.
@@BBushell Proffesional reviewers never tell when a product from a big name company is bad because they won't have early acces anymore. But you should make your own decision whether or not the Move is decent. In my opinion it's certainly not worth the €400.
I did not only refer to professional reviews. I also referred you to Amazon and Best Buy reviews where I believe it is on 5 stars. Bear in mind sound is subjective. There are times when sound signatures just don’t jive with ppl. I will tell you this when I first heard the Gen 2 Play 5 I was quite underwhelmed given all the hype. I struggled with it for quite sometime before I came around. Something I couldn’t explain.
I have two original Sonos ones in stereo pair. I use this to add flexibility around the house and for use in the garden. It's really good. Obviously placement is Everything! Also I use the eq to boost the bass if necessary. Yes it's expensive but honestly the sound and flexibility are worth the price (plus my one's were cheap)
I have the move and would have to disagree with your opinion of the sound quality.i would say it sounds a lot better than a Sonos one.
The Sonos move is one of the best Sound quallity speakers Ive ever heard (for its price)

One year later, guess some software updates, do you find the Move better sounding now than when you reviewed it?

Did you adjust the equalizer settings to try to improve the sound quality?
What mic did you use to record this video? Sounds very clear
Do you think this would be worth over the JBL Pulse 4 for the price ? I really like both but I can’t decide.
I guess you would recommend onyx 5 instead of this one. Right?
It sounds absolutely awesome, i have two of them :D Only error is that you cant use 2 of them with bluetooth like stereo :_(
I strongly support all you said. I really wanted to love the Sonos Move but it just does not sound good.

I bought it before I watched this. I'm not worried. If I'm disappointed I'll send it back within 45 days for a full refund.

I have a Sonos move and I’m really happy about the quality... so I disagree
Get Harman Kardon go play instead. Is amazing, sound is so great!
Which one ?
@@Ridee_1981 don’t bother, HK’s don’t last very long
Best Sonos set is playbase + 2 play 5 and a sub!
Agree completely. Sounds flat. Doesn’t have the top end sparkle of the one.
