Little brother one of the greatest hip hop groups ever
Their “The Minstrel Show” album was and is a CLASSIC! I still listen to it today!
A Top 50 Hip Hop album imo.
Indeed. This as well as The Listening.
Same and Chitlin Circuit as well
Was listening earlier TODAY!!! Didn't even know this interview dropped!! I'm for this!
YEEES IT IS!!! 🔥🔥🔥
“Can’t stop, won’t stop, bringing these F’s home on your report card!”. 😂😂😂 I love these dudes. Hip Hop personified, and some of the funniest skits I’ve ever listened to.
"How about Lovin Some Long Division 🥷🏾😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@mr.rashadgrice79😂😂😂
Phonte really does not get the flowers he deserves bro. Seriously one of my favorite rappers since a child. Charity starts at home is still something I listen to daily. God bless 🙏🏾
Little Brother getting their flowers is making me happy!!!!!
Thank you Breakfast club for having two of the best emcees in hip hop PERIOD.
Facts 🫶🏾🙌🏾
Best everrrrr!!! 🔥
One of the best groups definitely
And two intelligent educated brothers too.
Damn, never thought I’d see these two on here. The Listening and Minstrel Show raised me
They were life soundtracks for me also. They represent the best memories of the early/mid 2000’s while life was actually f’d up.
We needed another "The Foreign Exchange" album yesterday.
Man!!!!!
😂❤❤
This the comment I was looking for
This!!!!!!!
For real!!
Little Brother
Slum Village
Black Milk
Constant rotation - even today!!
Same here!!!
Solid solid solid rotation fam....I fuqs with all 3 as well!
You sir have amazing taste 🔥💪🏽
Superb 👌🏾
dont forget to throw Guru Gangstarr and Group Home in that rotation somwtimes
The Minstrel Show is probably one of my top 10 favorite hip hop albums to listen to, all the way through.
Killer Mike winning a Grammy for MICHAEL should motivate groups like this to put out new material.
Tay has been Grammy nominated.
@@rtwo4570Yup, for Foreign Exchange’s second album…which should won imo
My mother put me and my siblings on to Little brother growing up and til this day I have them on my playlist ❤️ Godbless them all fr!
Big fan of Little Brother, their first two albums got ya boy thru college. I would play their albums and knock out a few writing assignments! Also that song Black Magic is a CLASSIC track they’ve made without 9th Wonder.
Me too!!!! The listening is my soundtrack
Same! I was in my sophomore yr in a very yt private college, music kept me sane lol
“Atari” is still one of the greatest skits on a project ever lol. The RZA voice 😂 Phonte was a larger than life personality, man. One of Drake’s biggest influences, as well.. along with the Clipse. Phonte can really sing, the Foreign Exchange projects were fire too along with Little Brother
WestBubbleFuck, Ohio!
Like I said before, Little Brother been more of a duo than a trio throughout their careers and we all got use to that
Phonte's Last Day is one of my favorite tracks ever from Little Brother. Peace and blessings Kings 👑
"TO WINDOW TO THE WALL SKEET SKEETIN!!!!"😂😂😂😂
RIP Percy Miracles 🕊
RIP PERCY!
“At 5th & Fashion/betta call yo n*ggas!!” 😂😂😂
Great documentary! Salute to them! “Step My Game Up” is still one of favorite tracks! Great to see them on TBC!
S/N: Phonte was an influence in the beginning of Drake’s career. Listen to “Think Good Thoughts”
One of my favorite interludes!! I just got me a pair of Ma-No-Nos from them! 😂😂😂
I'll never forget finding them on myspace in 05 and falling in luv with their "the minstrel show" album so amazing! I was so happy to see them at the roots picnic last yr 🙌🏼🖤
Greatest rap group that no one's heard of. Much respect to NC and real hip hop 💪🏾
Watch the documentary people. They answer a lot of questions.
One of my all time favorite groups. You can put them up there with ATCQ and De La Soul. 🙌🏾👏🏾🔥🔥🔥
A Devin Morrison & Knx shoutout on Breakfast Club, love it👍🏾
Phonte got a song with Devin Morrison it's 🔥🔥🔥🔥
@@curtisjackson6378exactly. Peep the Bussin' album. LIFE-CHANGING.
Legendary group; one of my all time favorites!
Charla: Will we ever get a Phonte, Pooh & 9th Wonder reunion?
Them: Nah 😭😭
The way I died laughing. Dang! Not even trying to get our hopes up.🤣🤣
I deeply admire Little Brother and have enjoyed witnessing their evolution, both as individuals and as a collective.
Lol. I did a rewind to that part about 10 times and knew how much they meant that. I'm a big fan of both LB and 9th. At first (as a fan), I wondered how production would be less 9th with LB. My gawd, how they KILLED IT since. LB is just an amazing group.
NC salute!! Phonte...your favorite rapper's favorite rapper.
Saw Lil Brother and clicked hella fast. Underrated legends
My husband put me on to The Minstrel Show! That album is my ❤! Every concert in Dallas I was def in the house!
The one in 2019 was 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Underground music is definitely timeless💪🏿
🎯
I had the minstrel show playing the entire first year of my 1st born sons life…. Nothing but an absolute classic. Still….
Little Brother been out for 20 plus years and still no one really knows about this Amazing, True to Life Hip -Hop Group..2 of the best to ever do it…And Let’s not even get on Phonte…Charity Starts At Home…All Classics…Best Rap Duo next to OutKast…💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
You can tell Jess don’t know NOTHING about Little Brother 🙄🤦🏽♀️. Anyways, great interview from my favorite rappers! I’m ready for that new album! Still bumping “May The Lord Watch”, “The Listening”, and “The Minstrel Show”🔥🔥🔥
I was thinking the same thing! she is not as well versed and Ye and offered no value to this interview.
@@blackthug65 agreed!!
I’m glad she kept quiet. That was the right thing to do.
i wouldnt expect her to know who they is she the heartbeat of all the negros that are just like her young and old 😅
This is fucking crazy! I was literally listening to Chittlin Circuit this morning and I go on TH-cam and see this?! LB is top 5 hip hop groups of all time. Real true hip hop. So glad y’all reunited to bring us that heat back!!
The Kings of Moral Rap - their latest album is just as hard as the greatest. Thank ya'll for everything.
LB was my whole high school and beyond.! Good to see these brothers well one day 9th will come back just one more!
One of the greatest rap duos of all time and Phonte is a top ten rapper!
Facts!
This dropping on my birthday is the best present I could've asked for! I love these brothers, man. All their music is timeless and stays in daily rotation. The Listening, The Chitlin Circuit, The Minstrel Show and May the Lord Watch are all classics in my opinion. With their recent appearances on MEO and TBC, the 2 singles they released late last year and the new one that just dropped with Focus... I really hope this means a new album is on the way but either way, Little Brother remains one of my favourite Hip Hop groups/duos and easily the best of their generation. Much love and respect.
Top 3 rap duos of all time...big big big big fan of little brother. It was 2004 , i was living in san diego and going to mesa community College and this beautiful female in my nutrition class put me on to little brother. Been listening to them ever since. So underrated.
one of my FAVORITE hip hop groups of all time! I remember finding out about Little Brother in 2008 when I was going to school at Mesa Community College. Truly felt this music was for me and still feel that way when I listen to them. Can't wait for the next album. 9th is still my favorite DJ/ producer
Yoooóo my guys. WAKE UP IN THE MORNING AND I'M PRAYING WORK THROUGH ME LORD
Phonte = who Drake got his style from.
@10:00 These guys are really smart -- smarter than most of the ppl I see on this show, for sure. He is absolutely right about documentaries.
Mannnnnnn I love Little Brother! One time for NC. For some reason I wasn’t sure if they were still together ! Salute and love from Philly
My personal favorite hip hop group of all time, their muzik changed my life for the better and still does!
The Listening completely changed my life. Incredible group
Wow an actual real Hip Hop group on the Breakfast Club ! Salute Been a fan since the listening and saw yall in Vegas a few times.

This has always been the most Underrated Hip-Hop group of all time!!!!
One of my favourite rap groups. Been down since the beginning. I'm so glad they got on your platform. They need that exposure.
"Get back" one of my fav albums from these boi's! "Dreams" 👑🎤🔥🔥🔥
Love this group. Perfect sound and approach to hip hop music to me.
Love these dudes.. Phonte, Little Brother, and Forgein Exchange..
Been down with Lil’ Brother for 20 years. “Can’t stop, won’t stop yes I want it!l🙌🏾
Minstrel Show, Chitilin Cicruit The Listening, The Get Back are all classics!!
Man the way I love these two!!! Just pure dopeness! ❤
I appreciate them putting the Doc on TH-cam. I did try to see it in Theaters but those tickets went in less than a minute.
My favorite rap group ever im still trying to see them in concert...one of my dreams
Never clicked so fast… my favorite group!!!! Nostalgia in a bottle slapping their music.
NGL, I had to rub my eyes and make sure the thumbnail was right.
Always impressed by how intelligent these two speak in interviews! Rappers with dope verses are *not* dummies!! Glad they got the chance to tell their story on such a widely-viewed platform, but I'd love to see them get asked *better* questions 🤷🏾♂
Great Interview Pooh & Phonte, i remember Phonte when he had verbal combat on the late night in his dorm in Chidley Hall. Much love ✊🏾
Damn you really went to NCCU for real.
An interview that there were only bout 6 total questions but everything was thoroughly expressed!! 🫡
You could tell it was appreciated.
My favorite group. My favorite MC!
Love Little Brother ❤!!
Gratitude.
Peace to North Carolina.
One of the greatest groups ever!
I remember school kids records 05 midnight sale i coped The Minstrel Show CD... great times!!!
Such an overdue interview!!! So dope seeing them!!! My favorite Rap group!!!!
I went to an LB concert last March in Brooklyn and my ass got emotional seeing these two together again and reminiscing about how I first heard them in school. The old songs still hit, the new songs hit too!
My favorite group of artists ever, so glad I stumbled upon their music
I agree with the timeless comment. I did a six hr road trip last week and put on a LB Spotify Playlist and it was the most enjoyable ride I had in a while.
Best Breakfast Club surprise. Y'all had me yelling in my car when this aired. These brothas represent everything people say has been lost in hip hop.
Side note: On top of the documentary, go run and play May the Lord Watch the album. It fits right next to their classics, even without 9th.
I'm bouta get in the car and load up Flash and Flair and follow it up with Good Morning Sunshine expeditiously. Love these dudes!
Damn bruh that’s a great sequence. I listen to Flash and Flare every time I fly into RDU.
@@rtwo4570that beat is sick wit it 9th was on somethin samplin the Wiz
@34:00 This is especially true of the entertainment industry. When I got out of film school and was interviewing with production companies one of the companies had me do an interview with 3 women producers and they asked me "Would you do anything for us?" I said, "No", immediately. They were in dead shock, especially 2 of them, and they told me I was the ONLY candidate who had said no out of hundreds. One of them said, "Why do you say you wouldn't do anything for us?" And I told them straight out that "anything" means "anything". I will not prostitute, buy drugs, etc. When you say "anything" it is literal. And when I went to film school I heard a few stories from fellow students who interned and worked with famous people and companies and they would be asked to buy drugs (one friend said this of Miramax) or procure or personally provide sexual services (heard this about a famous director who still hasn't been outed by Me Too movement). When the dude on that doc about the FYRE FESTIVAL says he would have offered fell@cio -- he wasn't playing! That's how these industries can be. It's very scary. Also, this is why Me Too was a movement that rocked the entertainment industry.
You did not sell your soul 🙏
I appreciate that Char and Envy either did their homework on LB or their production assistants did.
I’ve seen them show up at too many interviews where it was clear the folks didn’t know them and asked stupid questions.
They’ve earned this respect.
Shout out to The Breakfast Club 🔥⭐️🖤👜💍👑 Great success!!
Shoutout to the underground kings Little Brother ✊🏽✊🏽✊🏽 Was just talking about their genius the other week! 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽 Peace and Love.
34:31 A wise man once told me, "be hungry, not thirsty." (Cizzy from North Philly)
One of the best interviews I seen
Beyond underrated, AND they pulled off the comeback album. That is not easy to do!
Can these two herbs talk about LB and Rawkus without all the "Lyrical Miracle", "Underground backpack" qualifiers like a bad joke from 2001. Put respect on LB and Rawkus for making music. You do LB and labels like Rawkus a disservice when you talk down on their legacies like that.
Envy kept saying RUCKUS.
Great Interview. I remember when The Listening dropped. My Senior year in High School. I'm 38 years old now. It's dope when some of your favorite rappers have aged well and you feel like you grown with them. Much respect to Little Brother. #LBBizness
bro we the same age 😅 time flies
I swear I can relate to these guys soooo much !
Still my favorite rap group. I’ve been waiting on LB to hit the Breakfast Club from jump.
Started listening to LB when I was 17 when The Minstrel Show dropped.
Yes these guys are dope luv this group 💯👍🏿🔥
Wow! I've always heard of little brother and never took the time to listen to em that changes in 2024
This group is special to me.
First time seeing officially a part of the BC. She did her thing. She's excellent fit.
The sound they have is timeless.
Definitely one for the culture. One love LB
Little Brother is in my top 5.....Phonte's Foreign Exchange was 🔥 Too.
Connected is on my top 5's of all time bruh. Words can't express my love for that album.
Pound for pound, bar for bar... GREATEST rap duo of all time. Not one bad album, probably not a single bad track in the entire catalogue... fight me.
If they fight you on this, you got backup
Drop your location I will cuz that's a lie as a fan
@@coonnfriend name names to counter then
Top 5 at least.
Legendary bros rocking this interview...
The LB Dynatsty continues. This is inspiration al of us never knew we needed.
I dont know of them, so thanks for the documentary. I love to educate nyself
Welcome to the club! Never too late to get put on to great music... they got CLASSICS and changed the game. Phonte was a huge inspiration to Drake (he's professed this a few times) and their one of the best hiphop duos of all time. Their most recent doc on TH-cam "MAY THE LORD WATCH" is one of the best docs ever too...I would recommend checking out the albums first tho so it'll hit different
One of my fav groups 🙏🏾
One of my favorite hip-hop artists
What a great day to sit down and watch this
Little Brother influenced early Drake’s sound
Drake directly attributes his style to Tay.
and he met wit them to get to Wayne
Im happy to see LB on Breakfast Club.
Never heard of them, but will do some research now!
You won't regret it
Gotta report back after you peeped their music.
Man, they got classic and timeless material
Miss y'all!! I need you fellas right about now anyway
