Biggest thig people were tripping off when Little Brother came out was that it was done on Fruity LOOPS, NOW everyone uses Fruity Loops hahaha
Oh even the company knows that, they changed the name to FL studios.@@anadvocate7310
I’m here after watching the little brother documentary and the fact that 9th refrained from that particular story is groundbreaking after watching this. Now I’m a fan of all these guys hands down, their art has got me through a lot of rough times, but now after watching 9ths perspective of life, and his story of growth, it explains the whole story of all these legends in hiphop more clearly.
I wish the industry &/or those in it would construct a system where they can all eat. Touring shouldn’t be the best revenue generator for “groups”.
@@FedUpSista I think they were all able to eat, but egos kinda get in the way in these types scenarios in the music industry.
This documentary is very deep and my time was well spent watching this. Being a DJ/Producer myself and living about 25 minutes from Winston-Salem, the wisdom 9th Wonder dropped was priceless! It resonated with me because so many people seem to jump through hoops and will do anything to be in the music industry. I don't read this being the case with 9W. He comes across as grounded and highly intelligent along with being talented, and I have the utmost respect for those traits. Much more could be said here, but I'll keep it brief! Salute Bro!! -DJ 14K
Gratitude for sharing.
Paper Lines by Phonte prod by 9th Wonder is amazing.
I bought a Stylistics Album 2 years ago and I heard One Night Affair ...
A few years ago one of my teachers at Laney (Oakland Ca) introduced my class to Black Economics : Solutions for Economic and Community Empowerment September 1, 2002 by Dr. Jawanza Kunjufu. It was a trip to hear 9th say that Kunjufu was one of his instructors.
That Ojays Cry Together is heavy.
E Jones has some cool production.
Peace to Jamla and Peace to Tamla.
9th seem like a cool dude to just be around and learn from. Thanks for making the doc this well.
Very well Documented. Dope Title. Shout out to 9th Wonder on remaining so humble, and everyone part of this project, that brought it to us. Thank you.
9th Wonder has such a deep and smooth voice. If he could sing, I'm sure he would've also been a phenomenal soul/R&B artist.
9TH!!!!! One of my favorite Producers!
I feel treated seein Al interviewed here. His passion is always on full display.
This was Epic thanks 9th wonder for inspiring us with your legacy and talent.🎉 Happy New Year.
I remember paying for this when it came out and I watched it again on here a few months ago
Wow, great documentary! First time I saw 9th wonder was in Portland OR with Pharoe Monch!! Amazing show. His into mixing of hip hop/rap gems was silly good and he didn’t even start! Way to be a part and make a wonderful documentary. It means a lot to old heads to see.
This is enthralling, btw. Cannot stop rewinding and rewatching.
Maaan the nostalgia. Thank you. R.I.P. Bright Lady.
@ the 1:09:14 of this documentary 9th made a beat from scratch that in this documentary made in 2011 that til this very day in 2024 is still futuristic....thats the genius of this amazing producer and beat maker....9th wonder is gonna go down as one of the greatest producers the culture of hip-hop has ever seen....PERIOD!
one of my favorite beats of 9th is shorty on the look out with creative source sample much props 9th is a baaad dude
Hardest beat on the whole album. "Keep me hanging on a string baby for you il do anything"
Great work. Loved watching this.
It's good to hear his perspective on the Little Brother days. Though, he told me in person they were done...I've always hoped they would do another album.
IT'S CAT'S LIKE THIS THAT CARRY THIS MUSIC TO NEW HEIGHTS EACH AND EVERY YEAR.
DAMN RIGHT IT'S ARTS AND CRAFTS BABY..... PAINT THE PICTURE.... EVERY BRUSH STROKE FELLAS. SOME ARTISTS ARE BETTER THAN OTHERS,BUT IT'S ALL ART!
Thank youuuuuuuuuuu!
Anybody knows the title of the beat that is playing from 22:43? I have heard the beat before, but can't remember what its called
That's do the right thing by Ludacris feat. Common off his Theater of the mind album
I'VE KEPT ALL MY TAPES AS WELL. FROM MIXTAPES TO O.G. RAP, ROCK TO WHATEVER.... THEY'RE STAYING IN MY COLLECTION AS WELL AS MY VINYL ❤
9th WONDER!!! 🔥💪🏼🫡
48:12 🤣🤣🤣 9th was cookin!!! ….but yeah I saw this after the LB doc ..first thanks for sharing…my first thought was 9th was headed in a certain direction..might not have been the most best timing in the world but that call he got from YG changed things…what was dope was how 9th kept it 100 respectful when addressing LB ..laid back no strife ..LBs doc not so much…but major respect to 9th…if I had to pick a side I would say 9th..it makes you Wonder…
MY BAD. I SLEPT ON THE BUCK AND 9TH STUFF....NEED TO GET SOME REISSUES IF I DON'T FIND OGEEZ!
The “Video-SL” sticker @ 53:31. I remember buying that software haha. I think I still have the unused stickers in a box.
I listened to 9th's version of the Black album so much that I forgot about the Jay version lol.
It looks cool to do a college class on music (as a professor). I went to college for Audio Engineering, so the beginning half of the documentary had my bunny ears raised throughout.
Salute to 9th for teaching Hip-Hop the right way in school. Wish he was my professor when I was enrolled 😂. If you've read this far and have student loans? Keep pushing, the narrow road gets wider. You got this. Super Fax 📠🔥
Top 10 not arguable doa hip hop beat makers of all time
but im wondering if 9th is clapping back at phontes and big poohs documentary from last month
@@frequentiis 9th will not be clapping back, he didn't even want to take part in the doc to explain his side.
@@KardiFan2000 its always like that tho, im a dillahead myself, and dilla did to slum village what 9th did to little brother, even r&b, devante fucked up jodeci future, teddy riley leaving guy, producers with big egos i guess
@@frequentiis Like I said, there's two sides to every story. A common narrative is that producers who are part of a hip hop group are conceited, "always wanted to go solo", or "never wanted to be part of the group". But one thing you have to consider is that the producer is making all of the music AND getting attention for outside production from major solo acts, so it's easy for the other members to feel jealous or envious...so it could be the other members who have the bad ego.
The making of that 9th Wonder production is at the 27 minute mark is fire. I hear many East Coast people destroying this
Those kids were watching him making them beats like a hawk
He perfectly describes people’s struggle with artists getting more popular than they (fans) are comfortable with.
Lmao the timing of uploading this around the same time as the LB’s documentary being released…
"My father built a house with his bare hands." No tools. No hammers, no saws. Just pounded nails in with his fists. Ripped wooden beams with his grip. Back when men were men.
Your music is Healthy for me it drives me often. Your name, 9th Wonder ain't it the Truth!😌😌
34:48 Does anyone know the title of the beat playing in the background? 1:09:27
i bought the documetary for 10$ to support the artist ;)
Long life 9th
Wonderful beats
Anyome get into the thyrday? Pretty sure that was the first time I heard 9th.
Boxden had them tapes as soon as music was released
inspiring
Very well done. I pride myself as being one of those different kids that grown into a person in my own lane most dont understand those that do see the genius in us.
We in business
What is the name of that sample he played on that 45 when he went back to the dorms? 🔥🔥🔥🔥The first scene he made a beat.
Beautiful….
does 9th feel a way about Big Pooh’s name being that his childhood name is Pooh
What's the "November: The Future" part's beat called ?
Dope!
9th the goat 🐐 ❤
His Beats aré Tough Asf!! 💯🔥💯
What beat is on when The Alchemist comes in?
9th Wonder is waaay better than 99% of today's trash @ss rap producers 👊🏿
9th Wonder is my Jdilla 🙏🏼💯
NC represent❤
❤
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
JEEZ, U GOT TO SIT NEXT TO CHUCK D!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I BOW TO YOUR EXCELLENTS!!!!!!!! SALUTE 9TH!!!!!!!!!!
I thought the same thing, Chuck is the most important of all of them, second to none
I LOVED BOTH DOCUMENTARIES THE WONDER YEARS AND MAY THE LORD WATCH BUT I THINK LITTLE BROTHER SHOULDVE JUST MADE 9TH A PRODUCER RATHER THAN A MEMBER OF THE GROUP BECAUSE MAYBE THEN THE RELATIONSHIP WOULDNT BE SO BROKEN
9th sits at the number# 5 spot of my top Hip-Hop producers (Extra-P aka The Large Professor, Pete Rock, Primo, and #1 J-Dilla)! But I still don't know why I thought he was first generation African! LOL This brother Geechee like ah mofo! LOL
Lol they wanna drop this old documentary weeks after Little Brother dropped their documentary, to critical acclaim, because they exposed 9th for being a terrible group member. I don’t even want to watch 9th’s doc again because I don’t want to be right about him never telling the truth about LB’s breakup.
This doc wasn't dropped again. We're just sharing it because it's not on the net anywhere and it's a good doc. 9th said in this doc that he'd never talk publicly about everything that transpired.
@@BringingDownTheBand From what I hear, he won't even agree to do interviews unless the LB situation is left out. The optics are a lack of accountability for his part in it.
You know I sat for a minute and I'm not making any excuses but I came to the conclusion that 9th is just a different type of cat. Then you gotta factor in his life path. Bro left his wife and kid to do this music stuff. You on a while different type of timing when you in a situation like that. I'm just glad 9th, Pooh, and Tiggalo found each other when they did.
i was unaware of this doc myself, but i have those same sentiments. Te and Pooh don’t seem like the type of dudes to embellish on events that impacted them negatively.

I was in one of those beat battles. I battled Khrysis of all people!!! Local 506 was the SPOT for local underground Hip Hop (Durham, Raleigh, Chapel Hill)! I used to ride up to Chapel Hill from Durham EVERY Monday night and spit at their open Mic. DJ Flash was the house DJ. Kaze was the host. Early '00s. Good times!! NC HIP HOP STAND UP!!
910, 919, the 919 before the 910 existed the 704 the 252 east and west NC. NC underground is real
That's what's up!
