Beautiful quilts in today's video. They bring such inspiration to me, and I'm sure to others as well! I have 3 charm packs of Starry, and now I have an idea for them! You are correct--Lori Holt would be so proud of Sandy's quilt--it's gorgeous! And DeeDee's horse panel quilt--so creative and yep another idea for me! Loved the time lapse of your quilting day. You're a busy bee! My quilting machine has a 15" throat space which means that my quilting area is only 8-ish inches, so I don't get to do much in between rows. I love my Oliso iron because of the auto lift. I do find that after a while it gets hot on the surface underneath even when the feet lift the heatplate up, so when I know I'm going to be several minutes in between uses I stand it up on its end (turned so I don't accidently bump it with my arms). Someone else suggested this to me so I thought I'd share. Lovely picture of you and Ellie! I'm late in watching this video because we had company over the 4th of July weekend, and then my 10 year old granddaughter stayed an extra week with me. Fun times. 😊
I loved the “day in your quilting life” video; I can tell that you never have trouble getting all of your steps in!! I really enjoyed it. So many beautiful quilts, as always. Such beautiful variety in fabrics, patterns, and pantographs! Great job. I truly appreciate all you do to share everything with us. As well, I really enjoy your newsletter too. Loved the horse quilt by DeeDee! I do enjoy trying new ways to create blocks; I may eventually decide on my favorite though.
I first learned the one-at-a-time method and thought that was good enough for years, although I bought Eleanor Burns’ geese rulers years ago-but didn’t use them. Then I started my present quilt and it is a beast with 64 flying geese in the border alone, and in different colors, so I pulled out my rulers, watched Kimberly on FQS about 16 times and dove in. It’s GREAT. Especially if you have a million to do! So I will keep on using this method. I also used economy block papers and square-in-square papers-in other words, every assist I could use for this quilt! One more border and it’s done! Yay! My favorite quilt this week is the Happy Stripes. What a great scrap quilt that would be! And it looks far more sophisticated than it actually is!
Thank you for another great video today. I too enjoyed the timelapse although I never doubted that the whole process would be very time-consuming. My most favourite thing of all though was the picture of grandma with her new baby girl. Beautiful.
Love, love, love your videos. And the Farm Girl Vintage quilt... oh my! So fun to see all your beautiful work and to hear about your family. Thanks for taking the time to make these weekly updates.
Enjoy your shows. We take for granted how much prep time goes on behind the scenes, a wedding, u-t pressure to get things out, daily living, seeing your son. Life takes time. Congrats on the new son-in-law.
My first patchwork was a bag with flying geese on front. It was no waste I had no idea what it was about. Since then I have always used it. I have found it difficult to keep straight and was happy to square them up. Sheer luck earlier today I watched the lovely Lisa Bongean and Alysha from Primitive Gatherings . They were doing flying geese with precision and no need to square up ! It was called weekend Quilts if anyone wants t o watch. Love from wet SWFrance ❤
Another fabulous video Tammie! Thanks for sharing your talents and the quilts you’ve had the pleasure to long arm. I have used the Wing Clipper tool by Deb Tucker of Studio 180 Design for so many years I cannot imagine going back. It is a “4 at a time” method, but with slightly oversized pieces you are able to trim with the Wing Clipper tool for accuracy every time. No noses or wings cut off for me! 😉
I have enjoyed watching your videos to see all the lovely quilts you are working on, as well as your projects and all about your lovely family. I’ve used my sister’s Oliso, so I can understand why you chose that one. I’m on my second Rowenta. I spent $$$ on the first and $$ on the second. The first didn’t last because I was likely not good about emptying the distilled water when I was done pressing for the day, and itstarting spitting out brown steam! I haven’t started using steam with the second… just a mist sprayer when needed, and it has been working just fine.
Again, beautiful quilts. The horse quilt did feel like it had a lot of movement. I liked the time lapse video. You are a busy lady. I do make 4 at a time Flying Geese using the Creative Grids Flying Geese trim tool. Congratulations to your daughter and son in law.
Loved seeing all your wedding pictures...I use a watered down Best Press instead of steam...use any type of flying geese method depending on the number needed...best wishes!
I’m On my third one in 4 years. I did t realize the warranty until my second one went out on the heating element so I called them went thru the whole scenario of checking everything out then I sent it back and they sent me a new one. It works great
I love the 2 new edge to edge pantographs you added in this week's video. I have been able to avoid making any geese to date...I guess it is time to tear off the band-aid and see which method works best for me. The current quilt top I am piecing has a million stitch & flips, so perhaps I should start with the single goose method. I enjoyed seeing the wedding pics. You obviously have a great love for your kids and grands! Glad your toe made it through the day. It is amazing how much such a tiny body part can make your body hurt!
You will love your new Oliso iron. Do you ever watch Pat Sloan’s videos? Every now and then she has a special discount (like $20 off) offer from Oliso. Love mine. Great steam.
Tammie, what panto do you think is the easiest for a beginner? Since I’m back in Tennessee I have access to my mom’s longarm. She never really was able to figure it out before she got sick so I starting from the beginning.
Don’t hse steam too often with the Oliso. I’m on my 2nd in four years and it is leaking water all over the place. I won’t buy another one. They replaced the first one for me under warranty but the same thing has happened with my second. I use steam to iron my linen clothing and when I’m making clothing as well as when I’m final pressing a quilt top so not every day. I use the water they recommend but for the price of this iron it shouldn’t leak so quickly. I love the lift aspect and the weight is great for pressing. I’m going to try something else this time and just use the Oliso without water as long as this one lives.
This time, I was able to see the time lapse video and I was very impressed. WOW, that looked like a busy day. I also have the Oliso iron and I LOVE it. I also have the Panasonic cordless iron and I also love it. Thank you for showing the beautiful quilts.
I’m still amazed at your beautiful quilting! I love the music , it’s so peaceful!
Thank you so much!

Absolutely! Try them all but pick YOUR favorite process. That will be the most rewarding!

Tammy, you have a beautiful family 🎉🎉

Thank you for another great video today. I too enjoyed the timelapse although I never doubted that the whole process would be very time-consuming. My most favourite thing of all though was the picture of grandma with her new baby girl. Beautiful.
I could hug her all day!!

Those quilts are beautiful. It was fun to
See the time lapse. Very glad the wedding went well.
Yes I use the Creative Grids Ultimate Flying Geese ruler. It makes 4 at a time.
Thank you! 😊
Loved seeing all your wedding pictures...I use a watered down Best Press instead of steam...use any type of flying geese method depending on the number needed...best wishes!
Great tip!
Wow on that time lapse video. I love my Oliso iron. I have both, the travel and full size (travel does not go up and down). Love your videos.❤
Very cool!
Always do four at a time flying geese. Printed Fat Quarter Shop’s flying geese cheat sheet off, laminated it, and it lives on my cutting table.
Good to know. I've been hesitant to try it b/c of bias.
Thanks for the info!

Wow!!
I make the 1 at a time Flying Geese method. I've finally perfected it, comes out perfect, no trimming after. I don't mess with success!
Absolutely!!
Love these quilts!!!
Thanks!
I have that iron and love it. The auto lift is the game changer.
🤗
❤❤❤ the time lapse

No kidding!! ♥️. Thank you for your kind words!
So so beautiful. I REALLY miss your Flosstube videos. Do you still cross stitch?
Yes. But not as regular as I used to be. I miss it so much!!
I like 4 at a time flying geese units unless I am using directional fabrics.
Great info!

I didn’t know that! Great info!

Is it digital or handguided?
@@tammieearnestit is digital
Do you know the name of the horse panel? My granddaughter is a young equestrian Something like this would be perfect for her!
Hi Jackie, here is a link to some similar horse fabric. Perhaps this will help in your search

I love my Oliso and have used it with steam at times, maybe you got a dud.
I haven’t tried steam yet.

Thanks for sharing that you like both Oliso &the Panasonic cordless orins. I've been considering which one would work for me.
@@marshawallace7522I am not a fan of my Panasonic cordless. I do not think it holds the heat long enough for my needs.
Thanks for watching! I flubbed up the first video upload 🫣
I don’t like the no waste way of doing flying geese. I have better success with the stitch and flip
It’s good to try new ways but only stay with it if you enjoy it. Great advice!
