    Question! If you are trying to track how ads have driven sales to a 3rd-party retailer using offline conversions, how would we narrow customer data set coming from like a Walmart or target for it to be useful? Would like a rewards email/phone number of people who purchased the product within the last 90 days for example work? How often would this need to be refreshed? What type of attribution would Facebook allocate to this data to calculate a ROAS?

    Hey thanks for this video! Quick question - I had always thought that the 'event timestamp' and ' event type' would be the time of purchase and then 'purchase', so that it can be matched to the leads from my campaign. Just to clarify, you're saying the only new 'offline' information that I'm giving FB Ads Manager is just the dollar conversion value and a list of only the people that made a purchase right? Other than that all the other info is what I already have i.e. timestamp of lead opt in, and I mark it as 'lead'?
    I may have answered my own question but just want to be sure. Thank you! :)

    • @MarketHustle
      @MarketHustle  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure if I follow the question.
      The matching happens with the time of the event and user info. I.e. John Smith | Lead Submission | 3:01pm --> Facebook then matches the user against their data and the onsite action (clicked on a link/exposed to ad time).

    Would offline conversions for local restaurants work with any in-store purchase that did not come from a lead on a website? I guess I am slightly confused as to whether restaurants have the capability to obtain customer data like email addresses by the customer merely purchasing with a credit/debit card in the physical store itself.

    • @MarketHustle
      @MarketHustle  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, it would work in this scenario. If you achive customer email, phone number, and first/last name you should achieve a decent match rate. This will let you see the total value of your online advertising. Also, for future campaigns, you can optimize your Store Traffic campaigns for "in-store sales' and it will find people similar to your offline lists.

    Hi,
    I run an ecommerce store, so in theory the pixel should be tracking the the online sales. However a lot of them are missing. Do you know if uploading all my sales info will create double entries in the reports?
    Or will fb automaticly match the info I upload to the campaigns that ran at that time and skip the people he did match?
    Hope you know, thanks :)

    • @MarketHustle
      @MarketHustle  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It could double count. I would encourage you to review your tracking and make sure that Advance Matching is turned on for Facebook's pixel under Events Manager.

    Hi Zaryn, thanks for this video. I would just like to ask something and I hope I can make this question clear for you. For example, we already uploaded an excel or csv file on the offline events, what if we have new leads? Should we create a new excel or csv file then upload that one or can we just add those new leads on the existing excel or csv then just update the offline event we already created? Is there a way to update? Thanks!

    • @MarketHustle
      @MarketHustle  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Great question, when you upload offline conversions you are not replacing the previous list of events, you are adding to it. Ideally, you want to upload at least every 7 days, to keep a good cadence.

    • @kpacuna56
      @kpacuna56 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MarketHustle Upload new csv file without the data of the previous ones already added? What if one person from the old list was a lead then purchased so he is now a customer, I need to add him on the new list right? So the old data of him can be updated?

    • @MarketHustle
      @MarketHustle  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@kpacuna56 When you upload the list you can document if it was a "lead" or a "purchase" in the "Event Details" column of your import. So you can include previous leads that turned into sales, just make sure you create the columns in Ads Manager so you can see which campaigns/ad-set drove what.

    • @akashloomba3661

      To add to this question. Can't we do an integration of POS to offline conversion(So that it keeps on automatically updating). I see alot of integrations available on zapier to communicate data from Crm or pos back to facebook .Do you want to share some insights on this ?

  • @mollypapier
    @mollypapier 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    So after you loaded up that customer data, then what happens? Are you saying that you would upload all the customer data from that campaign-to then retarget all those customers that converted offline? Is that why you're uploading it into Facebook? Then you can show the boss-I spent $500, but offline, we earned $5,000 from these customers...who we are now retargeting with more campaigns?

    • @MarketHustle
      @MarketHustle  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The main use case I lean on this is to 1) show the value of Facebook ads 2) Optimize media for future buys.
      Example: Selling a product where most people buy offline (i.e. Jewlery, Furniture)
      One you upload your file you can show the e-comm value + the offline sales value of your ads and use an omni-channel ROAS to properly value the impact of the channel. The retargeting use case I have used for retargeting purposes but not the main use case for most advertisers since you could retarget those users using the CRM files (without the offline upload process).

    • @mollypapier
      @mollypapier 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MarketHustle I work with a local car dealership, internet company, instrument rental company and restaurant-no online sales capability for any of these businesses. You're basically connecting people's actions due to FB ads to a conversion-giving the Facebook ad a real value. So we're running an upgrade campaign for the internet company. I loaded up 150 email addresses of our current customers to create an audience and I'm serving them ads for 2 weeks. If anyone upgrades, that's an offline conversion. So I would upload that same list w/any upgrades (with $ amount) to see, if I spent $100 on FB and got a $79.95/month customer, my campaign's ROI. Is that right?

    • @MarketHustle
      @MarketHustle  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mollypapier Yes that is the nuts an bolts of this. However, I would caveat that for such as small audience it might not give you strong learnings, I typically see this benefit more when there is greater scale to your conversions (i.e. 250-1,000 conversions per month).
      Either way, test it and see what happens -- best way to learn!

    • @mollypapier
      @mollypapier 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MarketHustle Understood. The rental instrument company is set to rent nationally-but then rentals will be a straight online conversion. The other three companies are really not too big. • @MarketHustle
      @MarketHustle  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Calm down -- deep breath.
      If you have a client that has physical stores for example, and your customer tend to buy offline (i.e. Furniture, expensive jewelry), odds are that your social ads are driving 'offline sales'.
      This feature allows you to take a CRM list and upload it and Facebook can show you how many purchases were impacted by Facebook ads, allowing you to validate your investment and see a bigger picture.
