    Question. If I'm running a conversion campaign with the lowest cost and my ROAS is fluctuating in unpredictable directions (I'm talking some days with 5 results others with 0). Does each type of bid strategy change the algorithm in a way that I can run multiple campaigns with different bid strategy and same audience?

    • @MarketHustle
      @MarketHustle  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Great question J - The short answer is that bidding does change how the algorithm delivers as it will bid more aggressive or less depending on this setting.
      If you are hoping to test, the ideal framework would be same audience, same creative, same days of the week (but different bidding strategy).
      Week 1: Low Cost
      Week 2: Bid Cap
      Week 3: Cost Cap
      If you are running multiple campaigns against the same audience you could have overlap issues and it might dirty the learning.

    Hey this is my situation! I've been advertising for a month (lowest cost bidding) and my average cost per conversion is around $5, but when I try to increase the budget the cost skyrockets. Im able to pay up to $12 per conversion, what should I do? Run a cost cap or a target cap campaign? Guess I need to try both.
    BTW the video was amazing! Enjoyed it every second, subscribing right now!

    • @MarketHustle
      @MarketHustle  4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Hi There -- glad you like the channel/content. If you are able to pay up to $12 for a conversion then I would do a Bid Cap bidding strategy and put your maximum budget and the $12 bid cap for the campaign and that way the algorithm will find you the max amount of conversions before reaching that cap. If you will be fluctuating budgets let say every other week then you want to deploy it within a new campaign, vs. adjusting the budget within the existing camapign.

    Hi Zaryn! I've got a few questions for you.
    I can't really figure out when you use a Target Cost strategy or a Cost Cap strategy when you have the Bid Cap strategy. For example, if what you want is the most leads possible and you know the limit of money to be profitable for the action, your cap, why not use Bid Cap strategy and keep increasing the cap if you want more leads? Am I understanding the strategy wrong?
    Another question: When you use Cost Cap, as you tend to use more money per action because overall the average will tend to be higher than the Bid Cap, would you get more leads in the Cost Cap than the Bid Cap if you created identical campaigns in the same timeframe just one campaign with Bid Cap and the other as Cost Cap?
    Last question! Why would you want predictability of an action? why not always try to get the action for as least money as possible? I ask this because I didn't understand the reason why we would want predictability when using Target Cost.
    Btw really enjoy your videos, keep it up!

      No, Facebook charges you to advertise so you pay per impressions (meaning when someone sees your ad on the platform -- the bid cap is an estimate of what you are willing to pay for an action on your website so that facebook can prioritize the ad delivery to users most likely to take that outcome -- facebook will charge you regardless of the outcome.

      You can do that, it would be a worthwhile experiment. What you will notices is at some-point your deliver will cap out if Facebook cannot find enough conversions at the bid cap you set. Certainly worth testing to find that point of diminishing return.

    Hi, If I choose the bid cost, and set a 12$ price for a conversion (purchase), will Facebook spend my entire budget (for example 100$ a day) or FB might limit my delivery if they can't find the right people for me? I run ads for my E-commerce for the past 3 months, I managed to achieve a 15$ on average for one purchase this far. Thanks!

    • @MarketHustle
      @MarketHustle  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi There- So a "Bid Cap" would only enter a bid in the auction if the algorithm believes that it can win the conversion under the determined price. If you see that your budget isn't spending after 5-7 days then you might need to increase your bid.

      If you run ads you are likely to pick up some followers, heck it's even better to run Engagement for pieces of content that are good. Also, to answer your first question, yes y ou can do a Bid Cap bidding strategy with a $1 -- however, you are likely to have your ads eaten up by click farms and low-intent audiences, so again do not do Page Like campaigns pls =)

    Lowest cost! So, if I have an established business and I'm looking to average a Cost per Purchase of $25 and a ROAS of 4+. Would a Cost Cap be the best choice? Also, will a Cost Cap lower the volume of sales during the first week and then increase? I ask because I recently changed a conversions campaign to Cost Cap and the number of sales per day went from 20 to 4 after 2 days. Is this due to the Learning period? Sorry for the all the questions.

    • @MarketHustle
      @MarketHustle  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cost Cap is ideal to control the bid amount, and yes -- if you turn it on you could see a decrease in sales because it will not bid for users if it does not believe it and meet the avg. $25 CPA goal.
      Now, the second question is dependent on how you built the campaign, if you rebuilt a fresh one and what day of the week -- so I can't really tell you that here but you are welcome to join our group and post the question there, and we can unpack it in a post: facebook.com/groups/MarketAndHustle

      Yup that is true.

    And don't consider rich people
    Like I'm only targeting intermediate to upper class
    Because I'm wondering how to set the bid for it
    I'm running a 3 different adsets
    With engagement campaign and I'm using CBO but I want to set a cap for it I have been doing ads for awhile but this part technically to implement it's pretty hard
    Meanwhile I don't want to go higher because I'm restricted to a specific Budget besides it's for Egypt real estate
    What do you recommend in this case

    In senario B, i didnt get it. You aim is not to exceed your cost per lead, which is 25$. Nothing to do with Bid Cap strategy which is all about setting your cap for AUCTIONS (in other words, for ads to be seen and not for results). The correct strategy should be Cost Cap. Correct me, if am wrong

    • @MarketHustle

    very interesting, but there is a detail that is wrong.
    You say that the more the prospect is hot
    the more you have to decrease your max bid by 10 to 15%. However in Laa 1-3% are the most likely audience to convert and yet you put the maximum bid while 10% you put the minimum bid.
    Can you enlighten us?

    What happens if you change strategies mid campaign? Like changing from "highest value or lowest cost" to "bid cap" - does this blow up the ad learning? I am assuming it does. At the same time, I feel like duplicating campaigns over and over to get a new strategy seems impractical. Any thoughts here on how to change a strategy mid campaign?

    • @MarketHustle
      @MarketHustle  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes--- you are correct! Changing bid strategies bid campaign will negatively impact delivery as it will reset your Learning Phase.
      What I have done in the past for a client who was trying to maximize investment on conversion campaigns (everyday) we would rebuild ad-sets within the same campaign if we saw delivery dipp -- we would do this about every two weeks or so). You want a balance between practical optimization and maximum campaign impact but it is at your discretion to determine what is feasible/appropriate for your current situation. We ended up investing in a 3rd party FMP called Smart.ly which allowed us to scale campaign building and save a TON of time.

    My only problem with facebook ads is volume at this point. When we set up a campaign for $500 a day with our average CPA @ $5.95, it'll generate about 2000 conversions a month, then taper off to about 5 conversions a day. Is it having a problem maintaining that target cost or are we just running out of people? Our audience seems to be very large, so I'm guessing it can't actually maintain that low of a CPA...
