that guitar tone is as close to the human tone as ive ever heard. flawless playing, and wonderful to watch when the tabs online are never correct. cheers my metal brother!
Maybe it's just me, but I've always found Human to be the grittiest sounding album out of Death's discography (even more than Scream Bloody Gore). Is it because of the production, because of Steve's bass, or am I missing something here? Great playing bud, you're the cleanest I've ever seen. I'll keep an eye out for the other covers :)
Not sure what you mean by grittiest. But I believe that the tones they used made the album sound really thick and all the instruments well ''glued'' together. The original master from Scott Burns was a little bit muddy, and of course, Steve's bass was completely buried. I think the remaster that Relapse made for this album was a tremendous improvement, it sounds way more clear.
They definitely got the production just right (although the remaster is even better). They captured the heaviness but also perfect clarity for all the instruments and vocals.
I think it's kinda meant to be gloomy af. While `Scream Bloody Gore` and `Leprosy` explore some dark themes, they are meant to entertain the listener, so you get some groovy music and catchy riffs. I think on `Spiritual Healing` and `Human` they went all serious. And on `ITP` they finally figured that it doesn't have to be 100% gloomy all the time. I might be out of my depth here, but I think on `Symbolic` they returned to more traditional rock & metal expressive elements, with some hints of that on ITP. While Human and SH sound pretty much unlike anything else.
Danny Cynic Yeah man, I'd love to see you do a cover of Trapped in a corner, that would be sick, not to hard of a song to play either , you could figure it out in no time, if you haven't already.
@@shubhamdasgupta8605 If you want to get technical practically everything is a ripoff of someone or something else......you can call it that or you can call it inspiration as well if nobody had any one to learn from and study then everyone would suck.....most people start off by doing covers of their favorite bands, riffs, solos and then you slowly come into your own style and sound

Here i am, completely inspired by death (I listen to them night and day) Bought a jackson being my first guitar ever at 21. Just imagining playing like you my friend. Whats your best advice on a noob like me with some little knowledge in music theory basics.
Hope you're still at it with the guitar. But my own advice to you (been playing guitar since 11 and I'm 25 right now) is scales, scales, and scales. You don't have to write a riff using a scale in the same vein as "Crystal Mountain" chorus for example, but figuring out that using a scale within a key can help you stay on topic so your writing won't be atonal or too chromatic. Like, figure out the minor scale, the intervals between each note within it, and run through the scale on each string for a few weeks. Hell I just wrote a new song that'll hopefully be on my band's new ep that I got from a scale book, I believe it was a minor scale but with a flat 5th interval and (to me) it's pretty tasty. Hope that helps m8 and cheers. Keep on shredding.
@@stevenreid2571 thanks brother. Oddly enough i just started figuring out scales few weeks ago. I uploaded a solo cover of my progress. This comment is when I barely started playing.
Oh Hell Yes! Man, I loved these guys! He was an extremely talented musician! How in the heck his band could keep up with I'll never know. If anyone watching or reading this in the comments fields, would love it if you checked out the home movies the kids @ I are working on from time to time! th-cam.com/video/k2gwbw5IQ0k/w-d-xo.html🎸🎸🎸

I think human is their heaviest and most brutal album.

I love playing the little lick that sounds like one of iron maiden's at 1:38
@@shubhamdasgupta8605 I'm pretty sure it's not a rip-off, Chuck was very fond for Iron Maiden, it may be more like a homage, at least in my opinion

Wow 👍
watching/listening to this I realise this would of slotted in nicely on the spiritual healing album. nice execution as always.
What kind of power chords at 0:33-0:42, please?
it is just x68xxx with index on 6 and pinkie on 8 ; maybe the higher strings are picked too
Perfect fifth
Thanks!
the right channel guitar is playing a simple x6-8xxx and a x5-7xxx power chord , while the left channel guitar is playing a xx8-10xx and a xx7-9xx
супер

no one gets the masvidal solo right... i don't know what it is but everyone i have seen so far fucks up some parts.
Masvidal didn't even play it the same way live, it's in his style to improv it to an extent
