I've heard no one goes to his shows anymore now because it's all politcal BS.
What was it called before Heavy metal ? Before it became mainstream? They even put a effort on there album covers to help you with Your high? Remember heavy metal is the only way to sale it to the people. Not with the old name.
They weren't starving hundreds or even thousands of years ago before rich elitists started taking over their land and charging them for their own products at increased price... it is propaganda in many ways.... the super rich could feed the world with even 1% of their fortunes, but instead they ask us the common man who does not have money to spare, to pay instead... and then not all the money even makes it to the poor in 3rd world countries... the whole system is corrupt.
The level of talent here is off the chart. Hearing Rob Halford screaming in a controlled higher octave gave me chills. I often think about those times growing up in the '80s. Dude, I'd do it all over again.
@R D Hair metal died when grunge came along. Hair metal was doing just fine in the 1980's when you had thrash bands at their peak like Slayer, Metallica and Megadeth doing their thing.
Hair metal is still quite strong in Northern Europe , check out Shiraz lane , crash diet, reckless love , love razër , crazy lixx, there are loads of others . The big names are still touring it’s a niche scene but it lives , I will be hair /sleaze /glam / AOR/shred and 80s metal til I die. Also really dig 80s thrash. Anthrax , municipal waste, sacred reich,Metallica, megadeth, nuclear assault , annihalator, stormtroopers of death . Keep rockin everyone who watches this video 🤟🏼🕶🤟🏼

Man Knight ...Though I agree, I'd like to think that one day, a new generation will know of THIS kind of music and bring it back. Hey, maybe I'm just being optimistic, it could happen.
Think again. I'm planning to put together a Retro Decade Revival Project. Our goal is to bring old school, real entertainment, true talent, pure originality and diversity and more back into the public mainstream, starting with the 1980s. That means bringing back real singing voices.
@@yucchhiiowwee Bad rap, yes. Good rap, no. I for one think that good rap should be kept alive while bad rap, like mumble rapping should be extinct, becoming a thing of the past.

I remember when I was 13 when this came out. I had mononucleosis. I sat at home and learned every guitar part to this whole song. My guitar teacher at the time was so amazed that he asked my mother if I could join his band. I ended up playing professionally at that age in my guitar teachers band. I will never forget this time in my life!
No shit, amazing I was 13 back when this came out and did guitar to it , back when MTV had the hour long metal show on the weekdays , anyway I had mono around that time must have been something in the water line, but I played and learned a TON of guitar during that and still play, rock on 🤟👊🤟

I really miss the great 80’s. Hard rock and metal at its peak. Such awesome musicianship. A time that will never be forgotten and can never be replicated. Forever 80’s!
Still listening in 2024! I come back to this song every so often just because the talent is off the chain! The Pop genre of the 80's has We Are the World, us Metalheads have We're Stars! So glad they made this! 🤘 Horns up! All the way up!
To me though, Dave Murray and Adrian Smith brought all the guitars together through amazing harmonies. They flew in just for a few hours that day and were offered solo spots but after a few minutes, came up with the epic harmonizing riffs you hear behind all the solos. That's really cool to not want to show off, but rather boost everyone else around them
@@michaellrakes5521 For me too. But he also didn't have much time to create the solos. They were on a massive and exhausting tour. The "World Slavery Tour".
They should re-do We´re Stars - In honor of Ronnie James Dio & Jimmy Bain! Vocals: Bruce Dickinson, Rob Halford, Michael Kiske, Geoff Tate, Klaus Meine, Joey Tempest, Matt Barlow, D.C Cooper, Tobias Sammet, Ronnie Atkins, Hansi Kürsch, Yannis Papadopoulos, Roy Khan, Blackie Lawless, Richard Page, King Diamond, Steve Overland Guitars: Vivian Campbell, Alexi Laiho, Dave Murray, Adrian Smith, George Lynch, Chris DeGarmo, Yngwie Malmsteen, Matthias Jabs, Michael Denner, Neal Schon, Kiko Loureiro, Doug Aldrich, Michael Weikath, Andy LaRocque, Ritchie Faulkner, Steve Lukather, Bill Hudson. Bass: Steve Harris. Drums: Scott Rockenfield, Richard Christy Keyboard: Claude Schnell, Mic Michaeli. These guys could, besides remaking "We're Stars," also make some covers of other classic rock/metal songs, by Black Sabbath, Rainbow, Dio, Scorpions, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Dokken, Europe, Survivor, Whitesnake, Helloween, W.A.S.P, Journey, Queensrÿche etc. A full album that goes to charity, and to all of metal 🙏
Good choices. but how about James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Jimmy Paige, Jack White, Robert Plant, Ian Gillan, Rick Allen, Corey Taylor, Jonathan davies...A mix of Now and Then.....
katche75 Well, Jimmy Paige, Robert Plant, Ian Gillan and Rick Allen would be fine :) Regarding the rest: I agree that there has to be some "newer" stars in the mix, but I still think the song should be in the same style and spirit as it was in 86´. There is a reason that Ronnie never invited any trash-musicians to begin with: They just didn´t fit in. Lars is good enough for Metallica, but what the heck would he do in a song like this? and Hetfield? His vocal has gone to terribly low level, and even though he is a great rhythm-guitarist, he is not virtuoso enough to be in the Here N´Aid-lineup. The same goes for Jack White, Jonathan Davies and Corey Taylor: They are good at what they do, but it would not fit into this type of song :/ Some "newer" additions could be, for example, Joacim Cans (mentioned), Tony Kakko, Tobias Sammet, Roy Khan and Matthew Barlow :)
keyringer all of my teen years were spent in the 80’s (1981 - 1988) making me one of the luckiest people in the world. I got to see so many great bands in their prime and nobody’s prime was better then Ronnie Dio’s be it in Sabbath or in Dio. I was fortunate to see him play 12 times and had the opportunity to even meet him twice. He was the greatest both on and off the stage. There will never be another like him!
I was born in 1967 -so I got to live the 70's and 80's -I was so lucky listening to Boston and Queen and then KISS ruling the world in 1978 then all the awesome bands and music in the 80's when MTV first came out playing killer videos and headbangers ball -ahh those were the days -fun concerts, getting drunk and partying LOL -(seeing the original DIO band on the Sacred Heart tour with the fire breathing dragon)

I like to keep an open mind about stuff like religion and the afterlife. I am not sure that Heaven or Hell really exist, or if there is a God, I mostly have a scientific belief on this subject, but I have never died before, so I wouldn't know for sure until I die. Also, Heaven and Hell is a Dio album and I was referring to that, I wasn't really being serious about that. Still an outstanding song though.
I own the original pressing vinyl, personally signed by Don Dokken, many years ago. It is one of my most treasured records. All of these guys are/were so incredibly talented.

This was the who's who in metal from 1970-1985. Can you imagine if they did a Hear n Aid for the who's who in metal from 2000-2015? The choir would be mostly metalcore vocalist and a lot of djent breakdowns in the middle of the song. It would suck.
You'd have to go outside the genre and pull in the female fronted symphonic metal bands, Nightwish, Epica, Lacuna Coil, Within Temptation. They are producing fantastic music. But agree it would be impossible to top this era of metal.
I been saying that too they should have a modern day hearing aid to raise money for to address the mental health crisis in America. If it were up to me I would pick Killswitch engage, A7X, Bullet for my Valentine, Black Veil Brides, and use some of the same guys like Blackie lawless from W.A.S.P. who is still coming out with kick ass metal albums and Dave Mustaine.

I can't remember if I have commented on this before, but I will do so in saying that this blew the we are the world song right out of the water. I truly hated that song. This was way better. The greatest ensemble of rock and metal artists of that era. I'm so glad that Ronnie decided to do this. When I had a radio show, I would play this once in a while. Now, in 2023, I began listening to Eddie Trunk, and so far, I think he's played it, I think 4 times. I don't know if we will ever have an ensemble of musicians like this ever again coming together to make one song. Unfortunately, some of the people who did this are no longer with us. Rest in peace.
Yeah, I remember the day I heard that he died, I wore all black the next day at work, and these dudes asked me, hey man. what's up? I was like you didn't hear that hear RJD died man. They were like aw shit man really? I said yeah man, look it up. They did, and I guess I ruined both of their days. I loved Dio man, saw him perform with Sabbath, Heaven and Hell, and do a show with Motorhead and Iron Maiden, Ronnie James ruled man, one of the best singers of all time.
This is the greatest non-satirical, satire song ever recorded. The fact that you have Spinal Tap in there is so freaking awesome. It's like when Christopher Walken does his Christopher Walken impression! True genius!
I saw Y&T open for Twisted Sister around 2012 and I was blown away by his guitar playing I never paid attention before cause the radio hits were ... too radio friendly for me I guess.
Pure Dio at its finest with all the metal gods present. It goes 2 show u how much Dio was admired & respected. Bless the man on the silver mountain 🎸🎸🎸
4:50 How BUCK DHARMA unties the tension created by the previous speed, techinical and amazing solos, is MAGIC, he makes his guitar sing, he opens ALL, is so incredible. THE WHOLE SONG IS INCREDIBLE.
I really would have liked to see michael sweet (Stryper) on the lineup, that would have been killer. I like how everyone still has their own style and got to play their part equally. Nobody seems to be given more than anyone else, none cut short, etc…just pure metal for the better of the world. Malmsteen’s solo at 4:00 was perfectly fitting for that forwards charging tempo
I literally get chills every time I hear this song, especially when I observe each and everyone of them making some of the best and most memorable rock-n-roll that was ever made! These guys proved themselves worthy 100times over again!!! But man for a very great cause curing hunger better water us rockers tried but most of us was labeled before our true spirit could shine hell we had dreams to mom and dad!!! For the ones that made it may god bless you and pleeeeease! Stay safe and help people n need, i promise you if you have a heart this goes for whomever reads this I know it’ll get laughed at or not even read but I tell ya I have seen the most wealthiest people so miserable because of little decisions like man I should have given that poor old man on the corner enough to get food or I should of changed that tire for that lady, I do all these kinds of things with not a dime in my pocket nor do I ask for anything my point is people look at we’re going through, these are unpredictable times and we must help our people to the best of our ability. If you can lend a helping hand please do so if you happen to be well off please give to someone in need, the feeling in the heart will reward you time and time again, you smile ten more smile without you even knowing it most of the time. I was in studio C and I heard the ruckis and our band went out later to have a smoke and all our idols came out to leave and er were all what the fuck. Hey, that's so N so and that's so in so. We started to get autographs and our producer came out and said, "okay lets do this." And I'm like Huh? Now?... aw man,,,, LOL
Where is EDDIE 🤔🤔🤔🤔
It was, and still is amazing. In addition, the project was RJD's answer to the World Aid project

oh and a little tid bit of info last year a interviewer was talking w Ted Nugent brought thiss song back up to him and he actualy had the gual to say the HE REGRETS IT because later he fond out some of the $$ went to liberal causes thats how much an A hole he is ! :O
@Steven T yeah he's a piece of work now and over the years lately he's become a real piece of shit. His music was good its when he went head first into the NRA he become a bigger and bigger A hole I can't stand him anymore. I used to fallow him on Facebook I can't anymore its nothing but politcal BS now no music just politcal BS and his politcal lemmings screaming uncle Ted uncle Ted the liberals are terrosts and so on. I've heard no one goes to his shows anymore now because it's all politcal BS.

One of the most amazing pieces of music on this planet
propaganda but riffs and solos are great
They weren't starving hundreds or even thousands of years ago before rich elitists started taking over their land and charging them for their own products at increased price... it is propaganda in many ways.... the super rich could feed the world with even 1% of their fortunes, but instead they ask us the common man who does not have money to spare, to pay instead... and then not all the money even makes it to the poor in 3rd world countries... the whole system is corrupt.

yeah i think so... RJD is the guy who got this project running... i know the swedish hv a similar kind of project.. a bit cheesy.. bt still ok.. 😀..
Yeah, this is "We are the ass kickers" !
And, there was only one band represented in both songs. Anybody care to guess?
The level of talent here is off the chart. Hearing Rob Halford screaming in a controlled higher octave gave me chills. I often think about those times growing up in the '80s. Dude, I'd do it all over again.
How was Blackie Lawless for WASP not singing a solo part, his voice legendary.
Rob Halford was out of control GREAT!!!!!
I was a crazy JP fan, but my fave voice of all this lot has to be Geoff Tate.
@@thedronedownunder3919 I agree. Those were the Rage for Order days and I wore out two cassette copies of it. Every song is excellent.
The mainstream can have the "We are the world" Micheal Jackson.
We rock n roll fans can have this.
so much talent in a single room... i don't know how the world didn't explode from awesomeness...
it actually did explode a couple of times and they had to dial down the awesome in the room. That's why Bruce Dickinson isn't on the track.
Yep! Bruce Dickinson and Paul Stanley would have been great here! And Eddie Van Halen and Bruce Kulick for the guitarists!
Ask Mr RJB...

This is why Metal must return to popularity, bring back hair metal and let the 2020's become the NEW AGE OF METAL!!!!!!
Amen. Make Metal Great Again
80s voices and culture.....
never again such greatness will touch the earth!!!
Rene Astle...Is there a way to drown RAP while doing that?
@@yucchhiiowwee Bad rap, yes. Good rap, no. I for one think that good rap should be kept alive while bad rap, like mumble rapping should be extinct, becoming a thing of the past.
Rene Astle ...I along with a number of other people HATE RAP..to us RAP IS RAP and RAP IS CRAP..(I have much stronger words for it). Especially when they take REAL MUSIC from artists that actually PLAY MUSIC and put it in their crap and say "YO MAIN, CHEK OUT WUT I ROT". Mannn you wrote diddly!!
And all that synthetic sound of intruments..I can push a button too.
I'd love to see OUR music overcome and get rid of RAP period.
Pure talent, no auto tune. Just God given ability to be great at what they could do. And this is STILL a masterpiece here in 2023!!! I cant get tired of this.......R.I.P. to the ones that are gone, but never forgotten. Rock on.
Amen.

The 1980s were a underrated Golden Age in almost every art form- the rise of Punk, Heavy Metal, Hip Hop, Pop, music videos, dance, small independent films- people don't appreciate the artistic volcano of that era. The '90s were a decline in comparison (imo).
Rocket for the eternity
I remember when I was 13 when this came out. I had mononucleosis. I sat at home and learned every guitar part to this whole song. My guitar teacher at the time was so amazed that he asked my mother if I could join his band. I ended up playing professionally at that age in my guitar teachers band. I will never forget this time in my life!
One thousand Kudos for you !
No shit, amazing I was 13 back when this came out and did guitar to it , back when MTV had the hour long metal show on the weekdays , anyway I had mono around that time must have been something in the water line, but I played and learned a TON of guitar during that and still play, rock on 🤟👊🤟

Can you imagine the vocal and guitar tracks that weren't used? Must be a lot of amazing stuff that never left the studio.
fuck yes! wish that stuff got released!
Malmsteen really jumps out with his neo classical sound...

I've heard George Lynch say "everyone was trying to keep up with Yngwie on the day" - he was miles ahead of everyone at this point in time

Good choices. but how about James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Jimmy Paige, Jack White, Robert Plant, Ian Gillan, Rick Allen, Corey Taylor, Jonathan davies...A mix of Now and Then.....
katche75 Well, Jimmy Paige, Robert Plant, Ian Gillan and Rick Allen would be fine :)
Regarding the rest: I agree that there has to be some "newer" stars in the mix, but I still think the song should be in the same style and spirit as it was in 86´. The same goes for Jack White, Jonathan Davies and Corey Taylor: They are good at what they do, but it would not fit into this type of song :/
Some "newer" additions could be, for example, Joacim Cans (mentioned), Tony Kakko, Tobias Sammet, Roy Khan and Matthew Barlow :)
Mickey Holm Add Joe Satriani to that list.
Bass : Geezer Butler!! \m/
Mickey Holm Why everyone forgets the great guitarist Wolf Hoffmann and ACCEPT???

I like to keep an open mind about stuff like religion and the afterlife. 💯💯💯💯💯💯🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Already into October 2019 and still holding horns for Dio!
Always horns for Father Dio!🤘🏻
RIP Dio. You were and still are a Legend!! One of the greatest Metal singers ever!!
Why did the 80s have to end? Why did people have to change. Why did technology have to progress....
Music died when the 90s came :( The 80's was more modern sounding than any 90s 00s 10s band!
@@Defender80s ok boomer
GOD I’m 48 years old and I grew up with these guys, they are Iconic Legends in every sense of the word and yes I agree, why change.
Only God knows why
@@Defender80s I still listen to and love 1980s music!
This is the greatest non-satirical, satire song ever recorded. The fact that you have Spinal Tap in there is so freaking awesome. It's like when Christopher Walken does his Christopher Walken impression! True genius!
Glad Dave Meniketti got some spotlight in this, he's so underrated as a guitarist and vocalist
I saw Y&T open for Twisted Sister around 2012 and I was blown away by his guitar playing I never paid attention before cause the radio hits were ... too radio friendly for me I guess.
4:00 Yngwie cleaning the stage
Ya, the whole song is awesome, but those 8 seconds are the sweetest part!
The last few notes were the best part of the solo but as a whole I think George Lynch takes the best part right after him.
Easily the best solo
When has Yngwie ever been more interested in contributing to the flow of a song and making it better, and not being the center of attention?
As cheesy as he is, the rest sound like amateur's at a jam night
is so easy to hear at Rob Halford over all the others in the chorus
The masters of their instrument. I've watched this over 1k times...luv it!
George Lynch and Yngwie owned it
I liked neil schon
LIKEWISE!
Neil and Brad were nothing to sneeze at. Neil could hold his won with any regardless of the band he was in. Monster, monster player.
I think they all did
I cant believe I'm saying this but Eddie Ojeda's solo has grown on me over time. i like it now.
it is so amazing how Rob Halford is simply the most recognizable Voice in teh Chorus
So glad to see the underrated Dave Meniketti of Y&T on vocals.
He should've played a solo too - he's a great guitarist.
Yep....a seriously underrated singer
Dave is a beast! :) Love Y&T
For sure
My favourite guitar player and fantastic singer too.
Pure Dio at its finest with all the metal gods present. It goes 2 show u how much Dio was admired & respected. Bless the man on the silver mountain 🎸🎸🎸
So many legends in this song. Amazing 80's metal!

I love that Spinal Tap were included in this.
Yes, just for that, this video is rated 11/10 by me.
Indeed considering I am pretty sure we would have not had behind the music series without that movie but that's when MTV actually played music
And Ted Nugent !
Geoff tates vocals actually give me chills
They are so dynamic
he had no idea what he would go on to accomplish.
Sameee I get all giddy 😂🥰
corniest guy here and that's saying alot lol
The only one who could match Halford in his prime was Geoff Tate in the 80s, such and incredible voice.
I was 19 when the song came out. I've loved it from the start. And even today, this song is a true masterpiece. 😍🤘🤘🤘
4:50 How BUCK DHARMA unties the tension created by the previous speed, techinical and amazing solos, is MAGIC, he makes his guitar sing, he opens ALL, is so incredible. THE WHOLE SONG IS INCREDIBLE.
Buck Dharma is not the fastest out there, but he has such original and great choice of notes
very bluesy and groovy style
Definitely my favorite solo on this song. Not the fastest in the world, but it doesn't need to be
@@backslash68the class of buck is off the roof
I once played this at a party and the cake exploded, too much metal
There's no such thing as too much metal.
\m/
MetalmaT 😂🤣🙌🤘
MetalmaT NEVER TOO MUCH METAL EVER !!!!!😈💔💋
I DO TOO
George Lynch. Still shines in 2019
Ken's daughter John malmseen first class
And i have a Signature from the 80's
Yngwie J Malmsteen all the way
Totally underrated. He was Dokken.
Vince Neil not used, his voice wouldn't fit is my guess.
This was made because no metal artist were asked to do we are the world.
this one was BEFORE "we are the world" :D
Who is that actual magical wizard guy? Dio: Oh, that would be me. The greatest metal singer live and one of the greatest singers period. RIP.
I agree long live RJD

I must confess that, to this day, I didn't know of the existence of this masterpiece! No wonder they were such great musicians!
Be kind....🙂
I DO TO!!!!
