Ordered adam T7V and audient id14 mkii . I am waiting for delivery from Germany. Thanks to the thomann store that delivery is cheaper than in Russia by 250 euros. I've been using Beyerdynamic DT 990's for about a year
Had theses for a few months now and could not be more satisfied. The lack of 0dB volume detent and LED positioning does show a (complete) lack of forethought. However, that aside these are a game changer. Since getting them monitoring is no longer an issue with almost perfect mixes every time. The TV5's and a good set of cans to check low end has made mixing so much easier.
i've had these for years and LOVE them. The tweeters give such a sweet high end and they are also great for general listening. Agree with the volume knob 0db thing tho, its really annoying trying to match the volume between the pair.
❤ one day i would love a pair but i have no money or car anymore.. and i sold my previous monitors so i could eat. If i get a job again i will buy these. Thank you Adam and I love Berlin, i hope to visit again one day I would love to see where they are made. Fyi I had the rokit gen4 7.. but all gone now
I own these and like them, and they do blow away just about everything in this price range, but I would put in a good word for the JBL LSR series. For clean electronic music the ADAMs all the way, but for more guitar rock type stuff the JBLs are a good choice.
Good timing in finding this video. I"m looking for a smaller set of monitors to use when I can't use my 8 inchers. Looking for a pair that will sound great when crafting guitar tones. Was checking out the KRKs as well and so far this is the only video I've found that I know I can trust the opinions and advice from a guitar use perspective. I still need to check out the Focal Alpha 50 Evo 5 but I really do like how the Adam Audios sound in this price range. Thanks Keyan 🤘🤘🤘
Keyan, I'm sure a ton of us (definitely myself included) would love a top to bottom mixing tutorial. Guitars, bass, drums, leads, etc My mixes sound like straight doodoo farts 😥
@@OfAbstract oh yeah, he definitely has, love this dude's style and riffage, good production as well, so glad I stumbled upon this channel, Keyan's content is gold
Ain't nothing wrong with doodoo farts, man... Especially if they're your own. Savor the aroma of every delicious nuance that gives each one it's own special character and flavor. Take pride in these things that make you who you are .. accept the flaws and take a great big whiff of the wonderful stench you've created. We should all take the time to enjoy our doodoo farts. 💩💨
I wish there were 2 comparison mixes between the Krk's and the T5V's. I mean I'm sure they're better but I would just love to hear your mixes on both on the same material.
And answer to the question in the title, definitely a yes. 20 plus years of studio and bedroom recording has made me very finicky about sounds that come out of boxes.
maybe this helps someone: if you have a audio interface plugged inbetween with 6,3mm output slots and a normal Aux headphone slot, go with the 6,3 to the XLR port. (instead of the RCA’s) It eliminated all crackling and hissing for me and now they‘re incredible!!
liked my KRK rokit 5 G4 a lot I was amaaazed by their mid-highs quality coming from a logitech 2.1 "pc home theater" setup they lacked bass tough, upgraded to A7V quite the expensive upgrade...and they sounded really bad at 1st they need burn-in (explained on adam audio channel) and on the A7V you absolutely need to read manual and tweak the rear switches for your room or they will sound weird and hollow, once that "pro stuff" is done they sound beautiful (after 2 days I'm not there yet but 95% mostly need to change their height) the A7V have crazy 3d positioning if you listen to accoustic music like a movie score or rock band you can immediately tell which instrument was were in the room, on electronic music the stereo effects when sound moves from left to right are perfect you "see" the sound moving I'm sure the T7V are also great, today a friend told someone of my purchase, that guy is 25 years into music fully treated room etc...and he told him he threw everything else away and only has adam audio now even for his TV
headphones I had HD-25 for years for deejaying but they sound very flat for listening so switched to V-Moda M100 which I loved (once equalized) but man do they sound bad compared to adam audio speaker, going from A7V is to headphone sound isn't pleasant
You provided the answer to my question, T5v or T7v which would be best in a 3m x 3m room. If anything it seems the smaller version will deliver better results and the bigger 7 inch woofer would probably be overkill. Great review, thank you.
Thanks for the review!! Do you think it might be worth spending more than twice as much for A5V? Or do you think the jump in performance from T5V to A5V is not worth the price increase?
Which models do you have? just bought a pair of T7V, trying to set the levels on it, feels kinda lacking in bass! might be my room.. but the clarity is really nice!
Just bought myself a pair of these beautiful Speakers and to be honest,,,, i have alsdo had Rokit 5's and also Pioneer DJS-60-XReference Monitors.... These in comparison as are as you have just explained.... Do you also DJ and also produce Music as in Ableton and the like ??? GREAT VIDEO...
about difference between t5v and a5x, is the difference very noticeable or do they share 90% of the same house signature ? is the price difference worth it ? thanks
Exactly, specifically the T5V here has a peaking in the treble frequencies above 5 kHz and one should bring it down a few db by means of EQ, otherwise they are too bright, certainly not "non ear fatiguing" as the marketing department of Adam Audio suggests regarding the AMT tweeters and the reviewer here reproduces. Other than that, it's a pretty good nearfield monitor considering the price and certainly a better engineered speaker compared to the much older A5X. I would not recommend the A series, its been nearly 10 years since its first appearance and they are redundant in (almost) 2022, there are much better and competitively priced designs nowadays.
I honestly just want some monitors that sound good with the neural DSP plug ins. I got the Presonus 3 inch ones that are like $100 a pair and was not satisfied at all. Any thoughts on a good set of monitors? Thinking about the Yamaha stuff
for guitar , are the x series worth twice the money , if you were to buy again would you spend for the x series or just go for the T series now you've compared both in a home enviroment. thank you
Would you choose a used pair (good condition) of A5X monitors for around $450-$500 or would you choose a used pair (also in good condition) of T5V monitors for around $300? My music room is smallish at roughly 9x14x8 and my use case is the same as yours, more or less. I'm a guitar player looking to track demos and play through the monitors via audio interface and I eventually want to work my way up to producing and maybe releasing my own music once I get better at mixing. Thanks!
Hi Keyan, i am thinking to get these T5V's monitors as my main audio output for mixing and also for playing guitar on plugins amps. So do you think it's ok for bedroom level guitar playing? Or do i realy need to spend more and get an amp too?
btw I don't know if it they added this on the A7V or if it's so subtle on T7V people don't notice but my A7V do have a notch on the volume knob but not like you expect it's more like a "slow" when you turn it but it's there if I turn with very light force the knob will stop at center not really a concern unless your sound source is too weak because it's recommended from what I've seen to have your source at max power and the amplifier low so my monitors are at minimum volume and the PC almost at max but not quite
I had bought them for a Helix and guitar. Thr are too small for that. Not low enough. And the lack of detent is silly I got Yamaha HS8 now and the sound is great.
Yes, try some. Headphones will never be even close to giving you correct stereo imaging, because if you pan one source 100% left, your right ear should still hear it, but quieter, which is not the case with headphones. But be ware that if you mix on monitors, your room will start to play at least as big of a role as your monitors
I play my SOLAR 1.6C through my computer using Neural DSP plugins using a pair of ‘Presonus Eris E3.5’. I’m not that happy with the sound I’m getting, do you or anybody know if upgrading to a pair of ADAM T5V would make a big difference? I live in a flat so I can’t play too loud, any recommendation appreciated, thanks.
I would look into trying out McRocklins Polychrome DSP. The difference in quality on my KRKs is huge. I have tested Gojira, Plini, and Rabea and while the cleans are great on them, Polychrome DSP has much better distoetion and amazing cleans as well.
okay but honestly these are not "great" studio monitors, these are midrange at best. i was expecting adam audio's really premium monitors when I saw the title and thumbnail.
Thanks for watching guys! What monitors/headphones are you using?
Adam A7X's, Beyerdynamic DT 990's
Using the A7X's - they're absolutely amazing. My room isn't treated much but the sound is amazing. Use for AxeFX and Monitoring
Picked up a pair of presonus eris e7 xt’s recently and they sound insane! Been using headphones up till now so was well overdue

Another +1 for a7x. They changed my life.

Always match volume by ear, there can be variance from one to another
Thanks for the great review Keyan. Greetings from Berlin.

I’ve always found 5 inches to be perfect for me also.

Had the same for 1/2 year now. awesome monitors. All the best from Germany

Watch some Nolly Getgood tutorials or URM Academy - anything you can get your hands on.
I have been, but I gotta say, keyan has the mixes to go with the chops bro

There is a channel that does those comparisons.. I think they did the comparison you want, not 100% sure though
Thanks for the concise video review. You were detailed enough without being too "wordy".
And answer to the question in the title, definitely a yes. 20 plus years of studio and bedroom recording has made me very finicky about sounds that come out of boxes.
Actually informative monitor review, good job

Edit : i noticed the lows show up if i walk back a few meters. Might need smaller ones 😁👍
Yamaha hs5 or Jbl 305 for a more "budget" friendly monitors? Or other...
T5V or 306 in this price range.
Will you be making a video on the A4v series that came out? My room is 10 x 12.
How do they perform when using to monitor the Quad Cortex?
Hi, would these work to play bass using Amp pluging? Would it be able to handle the low E string or T7V would be a better option? Thanks.
We trust keyan. He's a good boy. 👍

Still debating if I should get the KRK 5 classic or the Adam audio's
...flimsy knobs...
Glad people are really starting to reach out to you with the goods. 👌
Keyan, I think Adam's T and A series have too much treble. They literally sores my ears. Is T5V compatible with Focal Alpha 50 Evo?
Exactly, specifically the T5V here has a peaking in the treble frequencies above 5 kHz and one should bring it down a few db by means of EQ, otherwise they are too bright, certainly not "non ear fatiguing" as the marketing department of Adam Audio suggests regarding the AMT tweeters and the reviewer here reproduces. Outside of guitaring / production. Can you use them for regular music listening?

Do you use a subwoofer when you mix, or just the monitors?
Does anyone else notice a quiet static sound coming from the tweeters when nothing is playing?
That's the class D amp: cheap and noisy.
Ayo I swear yesterday I was about to check his studio video to see which monitors he had
Sold
T5V or A4V?
what do you have the back volume knob set at on these??
unity gain (0 dB).
these or presonus e5 or krk rp 5 ?
What about headphones or earbuds instead? They're a lot cheaper and keep the wife happier to boot so I wonder if I'm missing our on anything?
Those medium prestige monitors are unbalanced hifi monitors, they have many highs and lows, not flat at all.

okay but honestly these are not "great" studio monitors, these are midrange at best. i was expecting adam audio's really premium monitors when I saw the title and thumbnail.
