These are the monitors i got a few years ago to finally mix outside of my headphones and i love them so much still. Highly recommend for anyone looking into a set for their home studio setup. Best sound
@@SumnSumnSumnHTK Great review thx! I'm considering these as part of the bundle with their subwoofer for my Kawai NV10S digital piano cos I'm currently not happy with the sound from the piano speakers. In your experience, when plugged into line out on a DP, will the piano just automatically recognise these speakers and they take over while the built in piano speakers simply stop sounding (like when I plug the headphones in), or do I need to adjust some settings on the piano so that only the T5Vs sound and my piano speakers stay silent? How does this normally work (there's literary no explanation I could find anywhere for this)? Thx!
I don't know if anyone else has made this point, but you don't want the volume knob at the back to click! The whole point of that knob is to compensate for subtle differences in loudness either from small differences between the speakers, or more even more impactfully, from room acoustics! Always calibrate your speakers volume truthfully with an SPL meter and pink noise!
Yeah, well, it's not necessary that it 'clicks' but it would be nice if they put visual indicators so you could line them up by increments. It's just dumb they don't do that... and for people like myself who're OCD, it's a pain in the butt over something that would be so easy and cost them nothing to include. It's just something they'd have to add to the printed graphics. 😂 I'm not using an SPL meter, hanging foam all over my walls or using 'pink noise' for a pair of 400 dollar monitors. I'm not Rick Rubin. 😂
I'm not sure I'm understanding. You're very particular about having your speakers at unity gain, but don't want to spend 2 minutes with an SPL meter (which you can download on your phone for free) to get exactly that? Also, there is a visual indicator at unity gain.@@Fiveash-Art
@@RNLafferty Is that why I edited the comment? I'm not outraged and I wasn't when I typed it. Probably a spelling correction. I've been using them and I really like them .. I just crank em' all the way to 18+ so I don't have to worry if they're level volume on both sides. Like I said , it would've been nice if it just had a visual indicator so I wouldn't have to do that. 0db is too low for these speakers.. I just have to watch my volume with my interface so I don't blow em' out.
I’ve had these since last year. The treble dispersion is pretty good horizontally but the high end drops off a lot vertically, so to get that wide sweet spot you need the tweeters at ear height. The smooth action of the gain control is a good thing as I see it. I want to fine tune. Measure your monitors, don’t trust the clicks on the dial!
Also the xlr to 1/4” is convenient but not a great long term set up. You’re going from a shielded connection xlr to an analogue 1/4” that will inevitably lead to some hiss.
GREAT REVIEW!..All the way around but I own the A7X's and my room is smaller than yours "I think?"The A7x's work for me because my room is treated well...but the the biggest reason is because the A7x have more sub than the T5v .All you have to do is turn the volume down on A7X's to fit your room.
These are the best value studio monitors money can buy. I had the presonus and Yamaha hs5/hs8 before and these have a much brighter high end than both. For everyone asking about the bass response, studio monitors are not supposed to have big bass, it’s about an accurate mix down. Buy these!
Hi man. Can you reproduce the low end lets say on trap beats... can you hear the sub frequencies... im trying to figureout whether to get these or the 7 in version... I dont hear a great deal of difference in the low end via youtube
