Just a brief up date, my chief complaint was I could not go over 85 miles an hour. The video that I showed at the time was to illustrate how to turn off the beeping sound when going over a certain speed, but I discovered is if your front magnetic struts are defective or the connections are broken, the vehicle will automatically set itself to a max speed of 85 miles an hour. If you were having this issue, I recommend that you replace your front magnetic struts this will take care of your top speed issue
Tks for the effort. My 2016 controls are the same and I follow all the steps but I can't deactivate. It's only since I changed the shocks that a limit of 136 km/h came on... help!

Fyi: Put it in "M" but don't use the shifting paddles on the steering wheel & it is in "sport mode" & will shift automatically until you use the paddle shifters, then it is in "Manual Mode". Page 9-24 & 9-31 in the 2013 xts manual.
this does not shut off or disable the speed limiter! It is for when you are cruising to warn you if you are speeding. If you have it set for 70MPH it warns you that you are speeding!!
I can be going down the road when, all of a sudden, the car beeps five times. I've looked all through the 2013 XTS owner's manual, but still can't figure out what's happening. Could that be the speed warning? Thanks!
What I have found is if your magnetic shocks are not operating properly, it will manually set your max speed at 85 check your magnetic struts to make sure that the connections are connected right and there’s no issues with your front magnetic shocks. I was able to replace my magnetic shock it fixed that issue I was having with the Top speed which after replacing I was able to go over 85 miles an hour. It’s a safety feature that’s built into the car if the magnetic struts are bad

Unfortunately my ATS is limited to 137mph even tho the actual top speed is 143mph 😢

I think this is just a speed warning feature. It has nothing to do with maximum top speed which is set by PCM.
anybody who Knows How to do this with a 01 Cadillac sts?
I have a 2017 XTS. This suggestion does not work....period. I do a lot of mechanical work on both my car and ATV btw.
