Hi, thanks for the video. The engine is exactly the same model as my own and was wondering if you knew the best type of performance air filter i could replace the standard one with? Cheers
Hi, such a good question because I have been messing around with the mirrors on mine! First of all, if you don't want it to tilt down, so you are reversing off of your drive, just make sure your nearside mirror isn't selected (no light lit up on the mirror control panel on your door) and it will stay where it is. If you want to adjust the tilt of the mirror during reversing, put the car in reverse, select the correct mirror on the control panel and then simply adjust it (all while the car is in reverse, foot on the brake). If you like, you can now save this to the memory, so different drivers can have a different tilt mirror position saved into their profile. This guy actually shows you how to do it! Hope it helps! www.google.com/search?q=can+you+change+mercedes+mirror+tilt+on+revers&oq=can+you+change+mercedes+mirror+tilt+on+revers&aqs=chrome..69i57j33i10i160l3.10000j0j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8#kpvalbx=_9b78YsatO6bg7_UP49a1sAI35

hi, did you find the underside of the filter was damaged ? The bulge in the air filter housing near the MAF sensor causes the filter ribs to distort. I have found on two filters that the element had separated from the filter frame( the sealant LET GO) that then caused dirt to go into the MAF, Turbo, Intercooler, AIR Temp sensor ( covered in oil and Dirt)and into the engine, not nice. The filter is too wide at that end . I have not founed one thats less than 130mm most merc's are 134-138mm.
Hi @attilato2445 No, I didn't find any issues with the filter I removed or with the new one I fitted. I have replied to your other comment with a part number and a link to Febi Bilstein air filter but actually, I'm pretty sure I bought mine direct from Mercedes. They were competitive on price and I was going in for a service anyway, so I picked up the air filter and fuel filter while I was there. If you are having problems with air filters, then I would go direct to Mercedes, give them your chassis no. to make 100% sure you are getting the right item. Hope that helps, Thanks, Phil
@@ReviveMyRide thanks, I have found that, different brands that cross refence to the part number you sent Have a different Width varying from 125mm to 138mm .Also ive seen other videos of the same model engines and same airbox of the OM651, when they have removed the filter, you can see the deformed shape of the element. I fitted one in late November 2022 to my car three months later ( 2 days ago when I removed the intercooler ) checked filter and the element was unglued from lower element of the tapered end , so this is just a heads up for all NOT ALL FILTERS for a model car are the same . The filter should not be forced down to engage the MAF sensor. All the best Attila.
Great clear video! I had a question.. I bought 1 week ago a 2014 C250d W205 (like the one in the video), the previous owner owned it for 6 years and he lives 200 meters from the sea :| When I received the car, I wanted to clean the engine bay and saw that the engine bay was full of sand grains.. in every plastic panel, under the engine, at the battery,.. was full of sand grains. So this made me really scared. I bought already a new air filter (thanks to ur video I will install it myself). But do you know if i should worry for something because of the sand grains? Air filter should normally block the sand from going into the engine, right? Should i better change something else myself?
Thanks for your comment, glad you liked the video! 🙏 Good idea to replace the air filter as a precaution and get rid of as much sand as possible! However, I wouldn't worry too much, the air filter should definitely collect any and all of the sand! Did you find any grains in the bottom of the airbox and then vacuum them out if present? That's the only additional thing I would suggest. Thanks, Phil
Hi, the one I changed (air filter and then fuel filter, which was my other video) was on my car: 2018 C class with the OM651 engine (2.1L four cylinder diesel) Mercedes do use it in vans too. I suspect your question was about changing the fuel filter rather than the air filter? Regarding priming: No, it shouldn't require manual priming. At about 3min 10secs in the diesel filter video, which is here: th-cam.com/video/MQ5mMP3rISo/w-d-xo.html I talk about using the start button to run the fuel pump and prime the filter. Initially, you do this two or three time without starting the car, then it is good to go! Hope that helps, Thanks, Phil
hello. looking days now for an answer online. nothing found tho. is there any aftermarket choises for this engine , the diesel one, for a kn or smth? can find anything online. thanks.
Hi, if your car has the OM651 engine fitted, then the air filter procedure should be the same. I just checked the air filter part number and it seemed to stay the same from 2015 to 2018. Cheers, Phil
Hi, I don't have a video on this yet but on most Mercedes cars, the cabin filter is located in the engine bay, just above the battery. The plastic cover above the battery unclips at the back (nearest to the windscreen) and then you can easily change the filter. Hope that helps! Thanks, Phil
Sorry, I don’t have the car any more, so I can’t go and look for you! However, most turbo cars have an inter cooler that mounts in front of the radiator. Usually it is the same width as the radiator but is only about 1/3 if the height, hence plenty of air still goes through the radiator. Hope that helps!

Hi, I’ve been asked this a couple of times now and I did do some search but couldn’t find a performance air filter for this car either! Sorry!
Is this normal? When you close the lid, do you blow air between the filter box and the air pressure gauge?
Merci mon pote 👍
